Deserts are harsh environments to survive. While in my opinion minecraft could use way more animals (especially predators) it would make sence if there where less spawns and creatures in the desert. I can see the mummy beeing the special mob of pyramids but it wouldn't make sence to have them spawn like an army.

the mummy should spawn near the desert temple well because it should be a challenge and other mobs like lions and cheetahs and other desert mobs are in a mod pack.

Edit: the animals that i mentioned is from Lots O' Mobs

posted a message on Reworked tool/armor smelting.
    Quote from R1ch4rd_N1x0n»

    Smelting an iron or gold tool, or armor piece, in a furnace will give you one iron/gold nugget. This is an utterly useless feature, as wasting an entire tool for a puny little nugget is quite worthless. Here is how it should be;

Smelting a tool/armor piece will give you an amount of iron/gold depending on the durability remaining on the item. For example, smelting an iron pickaxe with full durability will give you three whole iron ingots. If roughly 1/27 of it's durability is missing, you will get 2 iron ingots, and 8 iron nuggets. The nuggets appear in the output after grabbing the ingots. For every 1/27 of the pickaxe that's missing, it takes away one nugget you get from smelting it. This is also the case for axes, since they are crafted with 3 iron/gold as well. Shovels however, will remove one nugget for every 1/9 missing from the durability, as they're crafted with only one iron/gold. Hoes and swords will lose one nugget for every 1/18 missing. Chestplates lose one for every 1/72, helmets lose one for every 1/45 missing, leggings lose one for every 1/63 missing, and boots lose one for every 1/36 missing.

This would really give more of a reason to actually smelt tools, as one nugget from an entire tool made with several ingots is a big waste. It also makes 0 sense to get 1 puny nugget from a big chestplate made of 9 iron bars.

9 iron bars you use iron ingots and 9 of them equals 1 iron block 8 iron equals chestplate. and nice idea i never do that/ i didn't know you cold do that.

well it should be a different mob all together and it should drop paper on death btw i mean the husk and the mummy can be one different mob and also it needs more mobs in the desert anyways (hostile mobs).

I know, but I'm glad I'm not the only one here who thinks iron tool durability is laughable. Iron tools in real life if refined into stainless steel would last you years. In what context was it acceptable to make iron tools break in less than a full day and night cycle which is 20 minutes?

I'm not an engineer or physicist but it doesn't take one to know that iron shouldn't be anywhere near this weak.

I know it was done for the sake of challenge and difficulty, but the way this was done is quite questionable imo.

iron should be buffed but it hasn't been buffed in years so it might not get buffed

I agree, I don't even bother with iron golem farms anymore and I don't have one on my current MC world, because I have superior materials on my tools and so there's enough iron to be mined underground for everything else.

I've seen a thread about people mentioning how useless wooden tools are in end game, but nobody seemed to mention that it is the exact same thing with iron when you've got chests full of diamond and netherrite tools with all the enchantments on them.

and it doesn't help that irons durability is awful and barely lasts longer than stone, I know they're the third strongest material now but the point is I have no use for them anymore and have zero intention on crafting more now that I have diamond and netherite gear on me.

Even if I was to make a lower grade material temporarily to prevent my best gear from being destroyed after needing repairs, I would opt to use stone purely because of how much more common it is than iron and it works well enough on shoveling dirt and sand that you can level out terrain efficiently and without too much time wasted.

iron is like that because of how much you can find before you find diamonds

I've got a feeling the reason why these are not being added is for similar reasons why vertical slabs aren't being added.

A ridiculous excuse along the lines of "it goes against player creativity".

and for as long as Jeb and his team are in charge of the games development this isn't going to change.

If it were up to me this would've been done years ago, not everyone likes bulky glass block doors on pistons or if they do, they probably don't want to use them for a specific build.

I'd keep the terrain, clouds, mobs and player characters blocky because it fits the aesthetic of the game and was consistent with Notch's vision of the game.

But that doesn't mean I am against customization of builds and right now what we've been given is far too limiting.

Yes glass doors should be added to the game, if they shouldn't, imo they need a better excuse than what was claimed above.

A simple "I don't want to do it" would've been better, not lies that patronize the community.

i agree that they wont get added :)

Yup, I made a netherite hoe on my current world which just needs mending and then it's gonna be the one I main with for crop harvesting. xD

I'm glad there are people like you who are putting it out there that there needs to be better rewards in End, it's true and it is a popular opinion.

Having more durable tools that reduce the need to grind later in the game would be welcomed.

Diamond tools aren't that great, and I've found they get destroyed very fast especially without Unbreaking III enchantment. It's one of the reasons why I came to appreciate the addition of Netherite which I now have on my Hoe, Fortune Pickaxe and regular Axe.

and Iron is even worse, they're not worth using once you've got a decent supply of diamond/netherite tools with mending on them, despite the endless complaints about iron golem farms. Their hilariously low durability makes them impractical for big projects in my opinion.

iron farms are practically useless now iron tools break easily and it should be the first armor you get and also the tools and people might run out of their netherite hoe or other tools making big projects and might even use up at last all of their tools like 10 times for projects that i want to build

Tridents are also a very dangerous way to fly, because they take you far above the altitude needed to insta kill you above ground.

They're somewhat unreliable unless you're over an ocean or if you have an elytra or potions of slow falling.

Feather Falling 4 even with full Protection 4 armour stacked can't save you if you fall from height limit to the ground.

Without the elytra or other means to break your fall you're screwed if you fall from 256 Y.

an elytra is the best way to do it you might land on a hay bale if your lucky

Thanks, I used this username because well I like battling zombies in video games, and AGT is an abbreviation for agent. :) your username is cool too.

Anyway on topic of the discussion, I completely see where you're coming from with the big projects thing, but in survival gameplay aren't these things generally end game? if that's the case then it makes sense to add a rare loot type found in End cities that is double the durability of netherite.

However, they should be strictly for the purposes of building, not combat imo.

So in my opinion no Enderite sword.

and all the Enderite tools while having much lower attack power than the other tools,

they would have vastly more durability than netherite variants.

    Pickaxe, regular Axe and Shovel.

This would give players the freedom they crave to do extremely large builds after they've done everything else in the game,

without being taunted with absurd grind time.

don't forget about the hoe though those are the best :) everybody uses the hoe

Edit: the sword who cares about that the axe is better a stone axe is as good as a diamond sword but if you want the full set then you will need the sword and all the other items

I think boosts with the Elytra should only be allowed with fireworks and tridents with Riptide, since fireworks cost you resources and cannot be infinitely spammed. Tridents with riptide would only work in water and when it is raining above ocean level, which is only applicable to the Overworld anyway and the boost therefore becomes situational.

I definitely disagree with Punch bows boosting the Elytra, we have common ground there.

fireworks work in the rain and the riptide helps you fly in the rain and the water which what tridents are used for and when it's not raining you need to use fireworks or get in the water

I don't know about it tbh, netherite is already durable enough and adding more durable materials is likely going to become broken.

Enderite would be nice though don't get me wrong, if it is to be added it should be a rare non renewable item only, and if players want it to last forever then they should be forced to use mending as well as being extremely careful not to lose it

yeah netherite is durable enough but it will break still easily when people do big projects.

Nice name. mending is a pretty good enchant for it but no one will just drop it into the void or did in lave or fall off the map would they and i was taking about really rare to find and once you find it you know when you find it btw.

posted a message on Are You Smart At Command?

Is it command blocks or like the /locate command you type in the chat

    Quote from Agtrigormortis»

I would say I'm average when it comes to commands, not pro, I've got a friend who is even better at commands than I am, this friend of mine is able to spawn huge chunks of blocks out of thin air into the world and I'm not talking give items which is easy and something I've done, but actual blocks of any kind.

I have managed to spawn mobs using commands in my creative world though, any mob I can do, as long as I have access to the wiki page to remind me of what to do. This is better than using spawn eggs in dispensers because with commands you never run out, but you do have to be careful not to spawn too many NPC's into the world or it'll cause lag or even a server crash.

I've been able to use command blocks to make teleporters too, something which may be fairly common in the community.

wow that's pretty cool so your not pro or noob your just a normal commander when it comes to a command

posted a message on Why are Wooden Tools a Thing?

As i was saying in post #24 that you can just take it from the villagers but anyways other than that if you have a bad spawn point just try and look for a village while getting 11 wood and 24 leather to make leather armor and make your wood tools and onece you found the village find the smithing table and then get 9 stone and upgrade your tools to stone and up till netherite which is basically overpowered and good at the same time well what is good about it.

#1 it can help you advance

#2 It can be a good thing to get diamond tools and get well every tool quickly if your like me who only finds one diamonds at a time and never finds it again.

As i was saying it's gonna have some downfalls as in advantages.

#1 downfall well a downfall is well you have to find 9 of the items execpt for leather armor and wood tools and after you get that you have to get 9 of. every other ore

#2 advantages it's obvious to what an advantage is basically everything that i did not list.
