If you want to make games in C++ i recommend this website, very informative. Not very n00b friendly but helpful if you know some common programming jargon. For making the actual game you might wanna use SDL for rendering the graphics.
Good luck!
PS: Dude who says use Flash, he asked about C++, not Flash. Why would you recommend him learning flash when he wants to learn C++?
I love touch screen devices, but I wouldn't want one as my actual phone because I tend to break fancy touch screen devices trying to figure out how they work.
Everybody uses mediafire because it doesn't impose ridiculous limits on uploaders and downloaders unlike every other free file hosting site does(I'm looking at you, rapidshare).
And when I do not use Adblock, I have never had any pop-ups unless I clicked on an ad.
Also, every single file hosting site has ads. Deal with it.
ok so now thatI have done that I can't figure out what type of file to save it as so i can replace it. i tried just clicking save as and then selecting the host file but after i click save it says access denied! so what do i put at the end of it (for example .exe or .avi)
Notepad isn't letting you save it because you're using a limited user account, try editing it as an administrator account.
Thanks- knowing which is the best installation of java for MineCraft and how to enable it in Firefox would be really helpful. :laugh.gif:
Um..actually..I am having a tad bit of difficulty remembering how to install a java alternative to make it usable from the command line...but the download page is here and you'll wanna download the self extracting x86 installer.
I can run minecraft, but it takes ages to load up, and I have to kill it.
would I use sudo apt-get to reinstall the latest version of java?
As a side note, I have noticed that on Ubuntu, I can no longer play MineCraft beta or classic in the browser. any ideas as to why this is?
1) I'm not sure why it takes so damn long to load, it just does that :/
2) Stay away from the JRE in the repositores, it kinda sucks for using minecraft.
I can share install directions for the JRE I've been using if you wanted to know that.
3) Not being able to play in browser can either be the Java plugin for firefox isn't installed properly( it never is, you have to do it manally), or you're using Chrome/ium ( And I'm not to sure how to get Java working in that ).
I have experience the same thing whenever I run Minecraft on my Ubuntu 11.04 box, but I can still play just fine.
I just use xkill to get rid of the window when I'm done. But I don't get any java IO exceptions, are you sure you installed java correctly?
Thanks for the update, but after I installed this mod whenever I end minecraft my java process keeps running, consuming massive amounts of memory and bringing my entire computer to a standstill. I have to log in and out to do anything when I exit the game :/
I strongly suggest NOT learning python, it has a very very limited gui support, which I can almost promise will turn off most users. I will give it credit for being fairly easy to learn, would be good for a noob programmer, but don't expect to do much with it. Anyone care to agree/disagree?
I personally have not delved into python, but most programming languages don't have easy to learn GUI functionality(Which is what I assume you mean by limited support). I program in C++ and have been learning GTK just so I can make a window pop-up that says "Hi". Needless to say it isn't very easy to use for the inexperienced coder( A.K.A. Me).
tl;dr: GUI's are a pain in any programming language.
I recently forgot my password and had to go through the immense frustration of resetting my Minecraft Forum password, as well as my Curse Password. I successfully got back into my account, but when I tried to change my password for the forums in my Control Panel, it keeps telling me my current password is wrong. The thing is I just logged in with it. What gives here?

My dad had a borrowed laptop that had a really cool stylus to control the mouse with, so I drew this creeper in GIMP.

I wouldn't mind that, as I am on nearly all the time.

If age isn't an issue I am interested in the position of manager for your project.
