A few nice bug fixes - and we're now preparing for inclusion in some very big packs, so we're adding a whole bunch of new tools to the website to make it easier for them
OpenEye is (mostly) a developer tool, that collects mods' usage and crash reports. It also delivers notifications (created by mod authors) to clients.
It's difficult to explain the mod fully here without just copy/pasting from the website, so here's a link to the website that goes into a lot of detail about what, how and why: http://openeye.openmods.info/
with regards to my elevator problem.
It is the player API mod that is required for smart moving mod. Somehow that prevents your elevator block from working. (I tested this explicitly.)
However, I found there was an update for the Player API (Core 1.2 for those that care) and it fixed the problem.
I still can't get the fan to blow me, and I've tried applying an RS signal like the config file says it needs. Nothing, not even removing Player API and smart moving mod fixes it. I suspect it may be Resonant Induction as that adds its own way of blowing players through its wind turbines.
That is a minor issue for me, especially since I can't point the fan up to move stuff up.
Also, I can't climb the rope ladder with smart moving mod on. Thankfully smart moving has a key to let you turn it on and off. I can climb the rope ladder if I turn it off, so that is just a minor inconvenience.
As far as the codecs go, meh. It was a wish list item, not a need.
All of the things you mention (elevators, fans, ladders) are using very standard vanilla mechanics. If something is messing around with that, I'm afraid it's not something we're going to be sorting out.
Reluctant to keep repeating myself in this thread answering the same questions over and over. Please at least read the previous page of replies before you ask a question, the chances are the answer is there.
Regarding elevators: No, they're not glitchy. They're used by quite a few million people without any issue. You are just using it wrong. By default they require XP, but that can be disabled in the config file. By default you can't have many blocks between each elevator, again, this can be configured. Why do they require XP? Because the community moaned at me constantly about them being free. There is a config file, please use it if you don't like the way things are.
Regarding radio streams: Sorry, I can't help everyone with their streams on an individual basis, I'd get nothing else done. Please make sure your stream is ogg format, and if you're using mp3 format you'll need the NotEnoughCodecs mod installed too. AAC format is slightly supported using NotEnoughCodecs, but we'll hopefully improve that soon. Any other formats (video, flash, whatever) will NOT be supported. Sorry! This is a mod, not a full-on media centre.
Regarding tanks: The tanks are not standard multiblocks. Please understand this! Each 'tank block' is an individual tank, however they will distribute fluid between themselves. You can't extract fluids from an empty tank.
Cartographers: If they're not working from you please upgrade to the latest version.
Regarding mod packs: No permission needed. Go for it.
There seems to be a duplication bug with the XP drain and a tank. Can someone please confirm this?
Dump all of your XP into a OpenBlocks Tank using the XP drain. Get 30 levels out of the tank by right clicking it. Go to an enchantment table and use all 30 levels. Go back to the tank and dump all your xp. You will still have the 30 levels.
The sky blocks confuse me. I'm assuming the sky block is supposed to simulate the sky and the inverted sky block simulates what the sky would look like 12 hours later. If I'm right, the normal sky block is broken and only gives an animated grey texture, the inverted sky block appears as the sky looks now.
Normal requires a redstone signal, inverted doesn't.
Hey there, I am having huge problems with players dying in our spawn protected areas. and leaving their graves behind because they cannot break them in the spawn. Is there a way to allow the player to get their items even if the area is protected by towny(plugin) or any other worldguard, or protection mod?
Hi, no - sorry. I recommend turning graves off by setting their block ID to 0.
I love the xp drain, it makes a convenient way to store xp. However, would it be possible to add a config option wherein it drains your exp as mob essence from minefactoryreloaded? Generally the reason i use the drain is so that i can store mass amounts of experience, and because the exp extractor from MFR is manual and tedious, and at that point i no longer have a need to enchant things. I am not suggesting changing it entirely, just making a config option so that you can chose which you want to output.
Like the cursor from OpenBlocks, but i tend either to forget which one is which, and also when trying to remote sneak activate i tend to relink it to another block that infront of me.
Is there a way to maintain several Cursor links within a same holder and name them if possible?
If considered OP, can a seperate item be created with the same original function, except only with Armor Stands and accidental relink prevention?

In the few weeks OpenEye has been released we've helped many mods find and fix crashes in their mods.

I also strongly recommend people install OpenEye, which helps mod developers deal with crashes, so we can make the game better for you
Lots of fixes, plus a few new handy little features, such as a pedometer

Hope that helps clear some things up.

Thanks for the report.
OpenModsLib 0.4b can be downloaded from http://www.openmods.info/ and it fixes this issue.

No need to be so rude. Documentation is in-game.
