Ok. Recently there has been a bit of discussion about not being able to have certain things added to Minecraft pocket edition due to "lag" or "performance issues". Well are you worried about that? Don't be. Add freaking options into Minecraft PE. If you can't handle buckets or extra items (eg redstone) as I would call it, add an option to toggle it off and on so you don't lag. Can you have bigger worlds? Toggle that option on and create a new world!

Edit: Just saw a post about lag issues on here. So you can add a nether machine and more mobs and blocks, but not buckets? Explain the logic in that.

We, don't know. It is quite silly. I suggest using ladders to climb.

You want to be real for a second? These forums are a business. The users are literally $. If a lot of users are banned by their parents because the forum is rampant with swears then Curse and pinkmins lose money. From a BUSINESS standpoint, banning swearing is a great choice on Citricsquid's part.

Now you wanna talk about non business wise? Swearing promotes a bad environment. Swearing is the poor man's words. The default response to when you run out of articulate things to say is swearing. And we want to promote good posts on the forum.

I love swearing. I'll adjust my behaviour easily. So should you. And everyone else. This is a forum for everyone, including children. Respect them.

You already have online multiplayer, but you can't change the IP.

So everybody is asking how to make a MinecraftPE server. I'll try to explain.

What you need to know:

• Public ip (http://www.whatismyip.com)
• Device ip
• Router ip
• Router Username/Password
• Protocol: UDP

Server setup

Step 1: Port Forwarding (server owner)

You have to setup port forwarding on your router. How do you do that? That's different on each router.

If the manufacturer is different you can also take a look at http://portforward.c...routerindex.htm (Thanks Snowbound)
It works all the same but it looks different on each router. Just make sure you fill in the following options.

• Public port: 19132 (single port)
• Private ip: Your device ip
• Private port: 19132 (single port)
• Protocol: UDP

Make sure you've filled it in correct or else it won't work.
To test this you need to start the game, go into your world and find a online portscanner and look if UDP port 19132 is open.

Step 2: Distibute your public server ip (server owner)

Share your public ip with your friends so they can join your server.

Client setup:

Android:
Snowbound updated patchtool. No more file editing! Change <ip address> with the public ip from your friend.
Usage: java -jar patchtool.jar -ip <ip address> patchtool.jar

iOS:

Download the script from my Cydia repo or from cydia.myrepospace.com/siris

Make sure you always close Minecraft PE also from the multitask bar!

This will only work when your game is decrypted. When you have bought the game it's encrypted. Follow the following steps to decrypt the game. Decrypting the app Installing the decrypted app

To change the IP you still need to do some terminal commands.

su
"your password"
mp.patch 255.255.255.255

Now it should work, go check it out! Have FUN!

So, you all know the famed MCedit, right? I'm working on a 3D world viewer/editor that is similar to MCedit, but with a different twists: you can play the world on your computer as if you were playing it in creative mode in MCPE. Now you might ask, why do I need a world editor? Well, have you ever found a project so large you didn't think you'd be able to build it or wanted to build it fast? Ever want to import 3D models into your world? Ever want to import other peoples creations into your world? Or maybe you just want to play MCPE worlds on your computer. Those are just a few of the features I plan to add to this project.

I have so far done the simple tasks such as getting the 3D down, setting up user controls (camera, walking and flying) and opening the chunks.dat into a 3D world. I need to finish texturing (that really is a hard task) and need to remake every block within MCPE in this program. While programming every block sounds like it'd take awhile, just a matter of copy, paste and edit and should go by quickly.

This whole project is written in Java so its multi-platform and uses OpenGL from LWJGL to render in 3D. LWJGL is what PC Minecraft uses for its 3D needs.

One last thing, I am still working on every project I was doing before hand, just now I have more free time. MCPEServer is now being worked on, and even that new and updated MCPEedit I promised.

Guys, did I mention this gets developed for Windows Phones too?

Did I mention they also have a slow approval rate?

Did I mention the developer has blogged many times about updates being delayed because of a mistake in the approval process?

Apple's update system is no excuse for the lack of updates for MCPE.....

Survivalcraft isn't meant to be like Minecraft, there electricity system is completely different. There mobs are completely different as well, otherwise you could actually say "but im sure its developer is just copying MC so ya thats my thoughs"


Although MCPE is pretty fun, its left a sour taste in my mouth when I found a lone developer able to produce a great game with things said to be performance-inducing, like rain and snow, infinite terrain, redstone, buckets, caves.....all of that in survivalcraft and MCPE still far behind....

And MCPE makes more then survivalcraft in terms of funding (5 million copies, $35,000,000...., still slow updates...).

Maybe one day MCPE will become awesome, but that day seems to far for now.


Sure Survivalcraft has bad textures at times, but there are texture packs.

Okay, before I start, let me get this straight - I respect everyone's opinions.

Right, so, ever since the full version of Minecraft came out, I've noticed a large spike in those who now dislike all the new features, items, mobs, and of course, the biomes. And fair enough, not everyone enjoys the same things, that's completely understandable. However, people, you must realize, everything is subject to change. Games like Minecraft will always have updates that will appeal to some and not to others, and you have to respect that fact, and if you really really dislike the new features, you don't have to update. I would suggest reading the update logs on the MCWiki before updating if you are one of these people. And if you want to try it out and dislike the new versions, remember, you can always legally downgrade here.

I understand some new updates will not tickle the fancy of some. And it is most problematic when it comes to servers, as 90% are updated to the new version. But honestly, there isn't anything you can do about it, except learn to accept and adapt to the new versions or simply stay down and play singleplayer. I myself used to be one of those 'alpha master race' people, and I would never even give the new Minecraft a chance to see if it was actually decent. I played up to Beta 1.8.1 until I decided that I just couldn't do it anymore, the biomes sucked and I thought the updates were useless and pointless. Until I decided to give 1.4.5 a shot. That's when I realized (while the biomes were still kinda bland) that every update had a reason and Minecraft was much better than I thought.

What I'm trying to get at is that every update holds new experiences and while not everyone likes it, at least give it a shot. To those that don't even bother trying it, you really should consider it, you may be surprised.

There's one last thing I'd like to bring up while I'm here, and that's the amassed posts about the hatred of the new biomes. And while I agree that it is mostly true, they are pretty bland and not as good as they used to be, instead of completely disliking them, try to be creative. Use the environment to around you to build great cities, monuments, houses, whatever you think would work. No matter how bad these biomes may look, remember that you can make anything in Minecraft look good with a little effort.

I know the feeling of having nostalgic feelings towards older versions of Minecraft, the beautiful spawns, great landscapes, mining, all that. It's an amazing feeling and is really what made Minecraft what it is today. But remember, new memories can be created with every new update. New things to play around with, new things to learn, new things to bring new interests to some.

All in all, we must realize that Jeb and the team can't cater to the likes and dislikes of everyone. Because for every person that likes an update, there will be another that doesn't. If we learn to accept this, you will find you may actually enjoy the new versions. I know I sure did.

Over the past 2-3 days I have been working on a personal varient of Ubuntu that will be tailored for Minecraft. It will be a live CD, so that it can be run from a CD, USB or be installed on any system. At the moment it is running Gnome as a desktop environment and has been tested on a minimum of a 512MB system. The name for it is still under consideration.
