I really like this new cobblestone texture! I think it looks a lot nicer than the other one that was made.

Oh cool! They actually made it! Now I can get this and play it on my 3DS when I'm out!
...except I can't, because it's a New 3DS exclusive, and I only have the original one. Oh well. I'm honestly surprised it even came out for the 3DS at all, even if it did wind up being a N3DS exclusive. Looks like a sort of watered-down version of Pocket Edition. Probably still wouldn't mind having this or the Switch version, just so I could play it on the go.

Um, April Fools was like a week ago...
In all seriousness, this really feels like Paid Steam Mods 2.0. There was a lot of backlash when they offered the ability to sell mods for games like Skyrim. They eventually removed this because of all the complaints. I don't see this working out too well, but I guess time will tell. Judging by the comments, it doesn't seem like many other people like the idea, either.

Um, color changing parrots? Haha I'm sorry, what? I like that they will dance now. Don't get the color changing thing, but the dancing part sounds adorable!
Guess I'm gonna have to put off finding a jungle biome now, until this update comes out. I want some parrots in my world, now! -

My hopes of a 3DS Minecraft are just about gone now. Oh well! Will probably pick this version up if I get a Switch.

I dunno, I feel you should get more back from smelting some items. Like chestplates. They cost 8 ingots to make, yet you only get a single nugget back? Seems like it should be 1-2 ingots. I understand not getting all 8 ingots back, but only a nugget makes it hardly worth recycling old armor. At least it makes sense for tools only giving back a single nugget!
Rocket-powered flying sounds fun! I'll finally get a use for all that gunpowder I've collected my entire playthrough!
I suppose Mending+Infinity on a bow was pretty overpowered. I've been using it on my world. I've almost never needed to use my sword now. Wonder if it'll remove one of the enchantments if I update my game version?

That's kind of how it feels to me, too. Just feels like stuff that didn't make it into 1.9. -

A pre-release already? That... doesn't seem right. This was a fairly quick update!

Minecraft 3DS Edition coming next? Would be nice to see, if it's at all possible!

EDIT: After logging off/on, it switched back to the normal tame wolf texture. - To post a comment, please login.

It's been a while since my post as well, aha.
Finished this courtyard thing. Took me forever to gather all of those flowers, too, but I like it!
Redid a spider grinder I had. Made one out of a cave spider spawner. It's provided me a decent supply of string so far.
Finally finished my underground section, and added in a section to grow crops. Have some redstone wired up so it'll dump water on them once they're fully grown, and carry them to some hoppers.Breaks pumpkin/melon blocks, too. Took forever to get it wired up correctly, too.
Besides that, I've basically gotten the chests from outside sorted inside, finished the storage room, and am getting ready to redo the top of the tree, so it looks like an actual tree. I'm probably gonna spend the next month getting log/leaf blocks for this, too.

I dunno, I feel I'm weird, but this has worked for me:
Change Perspective - R (I dunno, is changing to 3rd person cheating?)
Sprint - X
Chat - TAB
View Players - NUM+
Otherwise, the keys are default.

I don't play with any mods, apart from Optifine.
I do have a mishmash of several resource packs. They're vanilla, for the most part, but change a few things, one of which being to make everything resemble different seasons (currently using a pack to make everything look like Spring). Also have a higher resolution font, some alternate armor/tools retextures (I believe they're from "Tweaked Chocolate"? Can't remember the exact name), and various sounds replaced (from Naturus, I think).

Have yet to change my name. Probably never will. I am absolutely terrible at coming up with new usernames anyways. I'll just keep the same name I've had since beta 1.8.

Kinda tough. Probably Optifine. Without it, I wouldn't really be able to enjoy the game as I am now. MorePlayerModels and MatMos are up there as well.
If you mean mods that add stuff, either Botania or Thaumcraft. I kinda like magic-themed mods. Kind of a shame there aren't many updated to 1.11.

Baby Zombies.
They're fast, small, hard to hit, and they don't burn in the sunlight! Pretty much the only mob that scares me every time. Always seem to come out of nowhere, too. Thankfully, a good bow can take them out, no problem!

It shouldn't crash your world, no. I recently uninstalled, and my world still works just fine. The mod does not add any blocks or items to the game at all.
If in doubt, make a backup of your world!

First kind of shelter is a wooden box shack for me. Nothing fancy, just something to hide in during the night if I couldn't get shears. I'll usually have a crafting bench, a furnace, and a large chest all on day 1. Which is weird, because after that, I'm usually slow to progress much after that.

I kinda want more immersion stuff. Ambient sounds like wind blowing, birds chirping, etc in the overworld. Would make things seem more lively as opposed to the near silence the game currently has.
Seasons would be nice, too. Would love seeing the world change over time. Spring would bring more vibrant colors and randomly growing flowers, Fall would change the colors of the grass and trees, and winter would cause it to snow everywhere (except the warmer biomes, like deserts, maybe jungles). Been using resource packs to kind of emulate this, but would like to see it be a feature.
Better biomes would be nice. I really like exploring. I kind of miss the randomness of the old beta terrain. It was always neat seeing crazy formations back in some old videos. Sure, people still find them even with the terrain we have today, but I feel like it isn't as often. Or at least it isn't for me. And no, I'm not suggesting that the old one be brought back. Would like an improvement on what is already in the game.
As far as exploration goes, wouldn't mind seeing more structures around here and there. They don't have to have a purpose or anything (like the desert wells). It's just nice running into stuff (at least it is for me, anyways).
I wouldn't mind seeing more mobs similar to the bats, in the sense that they don't really do anything, but they fill up the world and make it less empty/lifeless. Stuff like frogs, birds, insects, actual fish mobs (and not just an item), etc.
More building blocks are always nice. I like the idea of more dyed blocks. Kinda hoped they'd have went along with that "painted wood" block a while back. Could have had a red, wooden barn.
This, exactly. I've almost never felt any need to return to the nether, apart from using it as a means of fast travel to someplace else in the overworld, or if I want more quartz/blaze rods. There's very little reason to go back, nor is there much to see. It's such a depressing place. If anywhere needed more attention, the Nether is it. The whole dimension just feels neglected. I kinda feel the same way with the End dimension, bu at least with the End dimension, I have a few reasons to go back.
Just a few things off the top of my head. There's probably other things I missed, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Wow, everyone's places look very nice! Definitely gotta improve my place now.
My singleplayer home:
I live in a giant tree in my world. Redoing the top, because it looks weird. There's nothing in it yet anyways, except a bed.
First floor, lobby. Nothing much here yet. Still not sure what to do with this area, despite it being here for almost a year
Second floor. Just a place to sit and read, I guess. Didn't know what to do with this part, either. May redo this section as well.
Third floor, part 1.
It's a library, complete with an enchanting station, and a world map of the nearby area (quite a distance, as it's large biomes)
part 2, work station.
All the ore blocks and the like go here. Use this room for crafting, smelting ores, and adding enchanted books to tools, or just renaming nametags
part 3, alchemy room
Just a room to make potions in. Nothing special.
Lastly, there's the basement, which even now, is still a work in progress.
To the left is my storage section.
To the right is where I keep livestock
And the last tunnel isn't finished, but I plan to grow every crop available in game so far.

Try running it without Optifine. I can't remember which one of the 1.8 updates it was, but I think one of them didn't work at all with Optifine when I'd tried. It did exactly as you described: changed the view, but the model itself did not change.

You need to use the direct link URL for your skin to show up. Copy/paste it in the skin URL box, then click the "reload skins" button. Should show your new, linked skin.
For example:
Say I wanted to use this skin:
I would grab the link that looks something like this:

Don't know if this is the problem you're having. I remember skin URLs working fine for me in 1.10.2. Might be a mod conflict if you have other mods.

Most hated: Either Baby Zombies or Skeletons.
I absolutely hate the baby zombies. Every time I see one, it's always too late. I take 2 or 3 hits, and then see them sprinting at me. Scares me every single time.
Otherwise, Skeletons are the most annoying. Maybe it's just me, but I swear the skeletons in my world have almost 100% accuracy.
Favorite: Horses
Seriously, they're pretty useful for getting around. Only exceptions are when you're trying to get through a forest, and when they wander off when you dismount, often back to where you just left from.

Currently using this setup:
Slot 1 - Diamond Pickaxe (I swap between fortune and silk touch)
Slot 2 - Diamond Shovel
Slot 3 - Whatever I need (blocks, items, etc)
Slot 4 - ^
Slot 5 - ^
Slot 6 - ^
Slot 7 - Bow
Slot 8 - Shield (swap this sometimes with my off-hand slot)
Slot 9 - Diamond Sword
Off-Hand - Food (usually steak)
Otherwise, my hotbar often changes a lot between worlds and servers.
