This version has been pretty awesome so far. Is iron vastly more common for anyone else? Even given the caves, I'm coming across iron every 10 blocks or so now, when I used to have to dig for what seemed like a mile to find anything.
Also, I really like the random lava flows underground. I opened my way into a new cavern, and smack in the middle was a stream of lava falling out of the ceiling into a sloping puddle of firy awesome on the floor. That sort of thing is what I go spelunking for.
Then digging down untill you get atleast 5 blocks deep

All the New Water will have a downward Current, which makes it harder to surface. It also effectively pulls down anything that falls in. By doing this in a large Checkerboard Fashion, you can effectively make monster traps
This is great, except it could be better. Make a little conveyor on the bottom like so,

[iron]
[iron]
[iron] [iron] [iron]
= air
= base
The conveyor will take the items that mobs drop and bring them into your base free of charge.
Then digging down untill you get atleast 5 blocks deep

Everyone assumes north is something different. Some assume the clouds head north because the sun sets in the west. Some assume the sun rises in the north instead because that's the axis Notch made it rise on. I say, until he says otherwise, north is 90 degrees to the right of west, not where the sun rises because that happens to be the positive x(or z, I'm not sure) axis.

Anyways. Notch did say he wants the edges of the world to be floating islands. Maybe this is what he ment

Bad for Single Player
I also think that there should be down currents..
And stronger currents in Deeper water
