People who hate the idea that notch has though of brilliant things that they will never be able to think of due to their mental handicaps, are angry that they couldn't have been the first ones to come up with this brilliant update. Since they didn't think of it first, they must hate on it to make themselves feel better. They must deny that its actually a good idea in order to satisfy their anger for their lack of creativity.

To be perfectly honest, I stuggle to find coal, and when I do, I celebrate by making torches (usually day three), then I spend the next 4 days trying to find iron. It may just be chains of bad luck, but deal with it. You most likely are the one with the mental handicap for thinking that posting this thread had the least bit of logic behind it. I don't hate the whole update either, just the bit about torches (and possibly mining mobs...). In another one of my games, I'm on day 26 and have only mined one tree, and have no coal or iron. I do feel that they should be temporary, but I don't think that iron is the answer.
Also, stop making threads about torches and people who don't like them. It's an opinion. Deal with it.
Well, that pretty much kills my chances of ever getting further than a couple of wood blocks in my passive game.
Seriously, this kills one of my play styles completely. All I can say is those lanterns better be super easy to make, and all my current saves torches better be replaced with them, or I will most likely rage quit. The only idea I oppose to more than torches going out ATM is mobs destroying blocks via mining. is still good though
