I suppose "begging" wasn't the best word, but asking for the game in general is frowned upon. Also, never post anything remotely rude as the mods here will perma-ban you for saying something along the lines of "It looks nice, but could use some work."

Alpha is an early version of the game, Beta is the current stage. They are not all that different. The developers are not going to stop making Minecraft for a while, and stop begging.

If a minecart powers a redstone rail, the redstone causes a piston one track ahead to push the minecart further and faster. I'm not quite sure how this would be positioned though.
For a moving minecraft they'll probably just force it in the direction it was already moving. Still minecarts might require directional boosters. We'll find all this out in a week or so.
I leave my buildings to chop wood, build, and maybe gather the occasional reed or cactus. Nothing else. When weather is released I'll probably go outside to see some zombie pigmen. So I guess Minecraft really is lacking the adventure feeling.
I can't remember a time when apples ever grew on tree's (which would be handy)
The only apples I remember are the golden ones and I forgot how to make those.

You have to have the Aether mod for the Aether portal to work.
If you build a Nether portal, light it with flint and steel to go to the Nether. Walk around a lot there, but make sure you know where your original portal is. After walking around a lot, build a new portal. You will be hundreds of meters away and probably near a desert. Gather some cacti, and head home. If you build your home by your spawn point craft a compass and walk super far away to a desert. Build some outposts along the way so you can sleep through the night or just stay safe from monsters. After you've gotten the cacti you can go home and make the farm.
