In that case, only you will really see the difference so go for it.

    That's not bad.

Keep in mind it's only 720p though and if you plan on viewing it from less than 6-8ft away it will look pixelated/blurry.

Also keep in mind as far as manufacturer warranties go this one is pretty sub-par (only 1 year? what?).

It's also not Energy Star qualified which means it will more than likely use quite a bit of power and does not have energy saving features. As a comparison some 40" LCD screens use a constant 700-1,000w when on. My parent's 43" vizio uses 1,360w constantly when it's turned on.

But honestly, considering it all $330 isn't terrible.

Well, if it was for me I wouldn't get it. But its for my grandma so we aren't going to spend a fortune on it. She has an old tv that younger kids could look at and say "Whats this big box on the back for?"

A 30" LCD TV would be around $500-700 depending on when and where you buy it.

Do not buy Insignia/Vizio/AOC/goodwell/old-timey sounding (forgot the name) TVs as they are cheaply made. Insignia is BB's in house brand and Vizio uses spare parts.

Good brands are Sony, LG, Samsung and any other brand not listed.

Usually pawn shops and the goodwill have some pretty decent quality TVs for cheap.

You might be better off waiting a bit though because April-July is the best time to buy a TV since it's when old models are replaced with new ones, making old models dirt cheap. ONCE IN A WHILE you will find a decent TV at a decent price at a retail store like BB/staples/etc. But it's not common.

Do not buy extended warranties, they are rubbish and don't cover anything that matters.

I know this is BestBuy but my dad was looking at this.
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung - 32" Class / 720p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV/2893174.p?id=1218361269835&skuId=2893174&st=LN32D403&cp=1&lp=1

A TV for that much? Not going to happen.

TVs are 50:50 online, sometimes UPS and the like don't like dealing with them so they abuse the hell out of them on the way to your place.

If you want a cheap decent TV though check a pawn shop or goodwill.

Well, ok. And what do you mean for that much? Is that too cheap?

Otherwise my dad is going to buy from bestbuy, walmart, target, or somewhere along those lines.

I'd honestly not recommend using older cases, unless it's a good one. Many people tend to use pre-built cases which are tiny and have terrible airflow. It would work of course, but you'll need to make sure the GPU and heatsink will fit in there (which it probably won't, if it's a pre-built). The HAF912 would be worth getting.

YES^^ HAF 912 is amazing. It has the potential for more fans, 5 optical bays and about 7 to 8 HDD bays. Its really awesome. Once I get my build in it, it will be better.

    Oh I forgot about those.

Yeah, the WoW forums are pretty bad. I was permabanned from version 1, version 2, version 3 AND version 4 of the wow forums.

Heres my handsome email <3 Their definition of "trolling" is apparently calling someone a spoiled, entitled child when they act like a spoiled, entitled child.

For the record, I was INCREDIBLY helpful on there with both wow and non wow related things, just as I am on here.

Well Activison Blizzard can suck meh nuts ;3.Also, what would be the best place to buy a tv? and the best one for in between 30 and 39" for around $350?

That sounds pretty accurate, even for low tier stuff. :/

    It's a shame really.

    I love it.

"Please use the report form for objectionable content, not for communicating with moderators"

Okay...... so how do I do that?

Hrmm we should report for not having an active list of mods and admins and stuff. xD

Yea Low tier and its still over a hundred bucks. Pisses me off half the time. At least Imon can get up to 65Mb but its like 90 bucks.

Edit: 127 dollars with some secure **** and online backup

im actually thinking we should just create a thread in which we suggest we want a chat threadm as i cannot seem to find any proper list with moderators...

Well, most mods don't pay attention to CST so the question is where do we place it?

I would definitely say a PM is worth a shot. It'd be nice to condense all of these discussions into a single thread.

I'd also add to make it a sticky as to not get lost.

Just a "Official Computer, Software, Technology discussion thread" kinda thing.

    This^^^^^^^^

    I get that a lot.

Applying to be a mod isn't very clear, and I would be responsible for more than just C,S,T and also be on IRC which I'd rather not be.

    Hmm I see, well ok.
