If you used this you could probably lower the RAM needed.

Would a 4GB VPS be able to run a server with McMyAdmin and host a website?

Probably could, depends on amount of traffic. I've also heard that mono uses up a decent amount of memory.

Send me a ticket (https://client.mcmyhost.net/whmcs/submitticket.php) we might be able to work something out.

posted a message on Need reliable 8GB hosting money no problem
    Hello,

Here is a what I can offer.

    1. East Coast / West Europe

We have server s in France, Atlanta, and Chicago

    2. 8GB RAM, 40 slots. RAM does not seem to be our limiting factor.

This would be correct. RAM is often less important than CPU

    3. SSD drive.

Unfortunately we don't use SSD's but we do use SATA drives in RAID 10 and SSD Caches.

    4. DDoS protection, MySQL available, dedicated ip address.

DDoS Protection would be $10.0/m at France location and in the US it would be $15.00 and add latency.

    5. Reliable Support

We may not have the fastest support but our replies will be well thought out and informative.

    6. Fast CPU

In Atlanta we use 2.33GHz, France Varies from 2.2 - 3.3 and Chicago is 3.5GHz

    -----------
    France
    -----------

    - 8GB DDR3 RAM
    - 250GB Disk
    - 100Mbps Unmetered

    $45.00

    ------------
    Chicago
    ------------

    - 8GB RAM
    - 250GB Disk
    - 1Gbps Unmetered

    $65.00

    -----------
    Atlanta
    -----------

    - 8GB RAM
    - 250GB Disk
    - 1Gbps Unmetered

    $50.00

Just PM if you want any of these offers.

    Hello,

    How about IN Georgia?

We can offer $3/GB Servers in Atlanta, GA.

    $3 * 12 = $36/yr per GB and 100 / 36 = 2.777777

so we can offer 3GB RAM per year for $100 and 4GB RAM for $140.

    Just submit a ticket.

We strongly recommend using our 1GB Ocelot Package. We charge $127.87/Month for this package, that is due to our high-end hardware which you can see here.

This is honestly one of the worst hosting companies I've seen in my life, I purchased a dedicated server from them, and their delivery time was 48 hours max. I had to wait approximately 4 days, until I received an answer from one of the people that works there, and he said that he wasn't able to get the server, because he needed to provide picture proof (Worst excuse ever, why doesn't he just provide a god damn picture?). Anyways, so he told me to wait to get my money back. because he had to get the money back from them (TOTAL BS, Why can't he just give me my money?). Also, he is in the US, so the only times I can speak to him is at night, they don't have a European support team, they consist of 2 unprofessional individuals. I never got my money back, and it's been 5 days since I paid, and I need my money cause I have to purchase another server. (I purchased this one for $150, and they scammed me) He never apologized for anything.
They also never answers tickets, and they lie on their front page.

TL;DR: They are a complete scam and their team consists of 2 ting scammers.
Oh, they also never make backups, so all my server files got deleted last time I had a server at their place.

    - Also, here are a few screenshots of our conversation:

    Hello,

So I'll explain this one in a little more depth.

We told this customer that we could provide him a resold server at a very affordable rate. This customer accepted and promptly paid. I put the order through to the reseller and am told that I would need to send them the ID of the end-customer. I don't take customer's ID so I denied this request and asked them to provide me a refund which I would then pass on to the customer.

I told this to the customer but he was unwilling to work with me and despite my reassurances opened a PayPal dispute. To all of the hosts out there, PAYPAL takes the money away from the account as soon as the dispute is opened.

So now, because PayPal removes the disputed money, I have 2x less money that I started with. Because of this I told the customer that he would have to wait for my reseller to refund me before I would refund him because if I did refund him with my personal / reserve PayPal money I would have had 3x losses instead of just 2x.

My reseller refused to respond to my emails so I had to open a PayPal dispute to which they quickly refunded me. Just minutes after I received my refund I refunded the customer.

Hope this gives your some more background and shows that I have no intention of owning a scam company, and am willing to work with customers if they work with me.

I tried using them for my business. Ran smooth for about 2 days then BAM. It crashes, doesn't come back up, and no help from support. I also got just a bunch of BS and all the guy did was sent me a link to their terms of service. I didn't do anything to abuse the server so I deserve a refund. To be honest NEVER choose this host.

    Hello,

This incident has since been resolved however this client NEVER opened a Support Ticket.

Port Forwarding has nothing to do with the Minecraft server.

    It's usually done router-level.

posted a message on Is personal server hosting a threat?
    Quote from MikeA

The only true threat is DDoS attacks which would take down your home connection, making you not be able to use the internet.

Wouldn't even have to be DDoS, could simply be DoS.

What I was saying is that MCF staff would just look at the website and service level of the company in question, them they would either approve or disapprove. If they approve, the host will be allowed to post in the Other Hosts section.
