    Things I'd like to see:
    • Birds that fly in the sky. Fish that swim in the ocean. A bit like the passive bat mob.
    • More control on landscape generation. Like chose how much ocean you want and so on.
    • More crafting recepies that make sense. Like apple pie.
    • More biome-specific mobs. Now you see creepers, zombies and skeleton in every biome. I'd like to see mobs that only appear in certain biomes (like slimes in swamp biomes).
    • More redstone features: more compact wiring perhaps, easier ways to do upwards/downwards power transmission and so on.
    • More variety in the nether. Perhaps they should also add some kind of biome system there.

Their hitbox was changed to only be 1 block high, rather than the 2 blocks or 1.5 blocks or whatever it was. So they don't get caught in the water above each sign like normal Zombies. I would say use a 1 block high exit into Lava or a different grinder. You may lose drops but they won't gather at the bottom of your elevator.

Thanks, I gathered as much. I'm going to abandon this zombie spawner anyway. In the new combined zombie/zombie pigman grinder that I'm building right now I'll make a way to get rid of the baby zombies (by making use of this new feature that they can't swim up I can filter them and lead them to a killing area).

Is there a 1 block gap at the bottom?

Baby Z's can fit through 1 block high holes now.

No there is no gap. They simply get stuck in the elevator and don't swim up. But I know why it is now now. They got reduced in height and so are unable to jump high enough to get caught in the water at height 3.

posted a message on Baby zombies no longer swim up in 1.7.2?
Hi all, in 1.6.4 I made an XP grinder based on a zombie spawner. It basically first transported the zombies up in a water elevator (alternating signs and water blocks) and then it led them to a drop to bring them to a (near) one-hit kill. It worked great in 1.6.4 for both zombies and baby zombies. However since 1.7.2 the baby zombies no longer swim upwards it seems. They stay stuck in the bottom area of the water elevator. Is this a known issue? Any workarounds for this? I could of course separate the babies from the adults first so that the babies are simply killed but I'm wondering if this is something that's going to be fixed soon so I don't need to do that work.

    Thanks,

posted a message on Hosting a LAN server with mods
That's a very nice suggestion. However, is still leaves open the question for other kinds of mods like for example mods that add crafting recepies, new items and so on. I suppose for those mods one would have to install them both on client and server?

    Thanks!

    Hi all,

I'd like to host a LAN server. I've done this before so I know how it works. However I would like to use this server with mods that actually alter landscape generation (like mods to add extra biomes and alter the frequency of villages). Is this possible? I think that both the client and the server will need to have this mod installed because otherwise the server can't generate the right landscape and the client needs the mod for the extra blocks these mods might have (for the additional biomes).

But I'm not sure how to do this. I know how to install the mod client-side but how can I do this server-side? I'm using 1.6.4 btw.

    Thanks!
