    posted a message on Installing latest Java Development Kit = Minecraft death?
    I've decided I'd like to try my hand at modding. Following several guides posted here in other forums, all say to install the latest version of the JDK in order to recompile your code for mods. Well, as soon as I install the JDK (and do nothing else, I don't even start modding or move any files), Minecraft refuses to work. At all. It won't even open--clicking on the .exe does absolutely nothing. As soon as I remove the JDK from my system and the registry, Minecraft works fine again.

    I'm on a Windows Vista 32-bit computer.

    What's the problem?

    Well, it seems that your recipes continue to not work, and I am unable to get your item IDs to work correct with Tanzanite's Recipe-maker Mod. I guess my coral will just be for decoration only!

    You only have four IDs listed of the six types of coral and not even which one is which. =)

    EDIT: Seems you fixed the numbers listed. I'll go experiment then.

    So, when the new patch was released, I started a new world, and immediately found squid! It was awesome, and I killed some. I then started a new world, as I didn't like that spawn area (silly me). Now, in my new world, which I've done a whole lot in (so I don't want to start again any time soon), I can't find any squid! There is a ton of water all around, small ponds, rivers, and even what seems to be an ocean. Why can't I find any squid? Has anyone found a trick to make them spawn?

    When creating a mod compatible with Modloader, what code do I use to make my mod take Block and Item icons from specific .pngs made for that item instead of looking towards items.png and terrain.png of whatever texture pack you have installed? (See Roundabout's Foodblocks and Shockah's Mineral mods for what I'm talking about)

    For some reason, when I use this mod with Shockah's Minerals and Roundabout's Foodblocks, your grass mod takes their .pngs and uses them for grass instead of using your grass graphics that I placed on the terrain.png within my custom texture pack. Do you know what's going on?

    I'm loving the meteorite mod and have had great success in changing the different rarities/sizes without any problem. Several issues have arisen:

    1) Even with the latest meteorite release, normal mobs AND Mo'Creature's mobs are extremely rare. The HumansPlus (human mobs) seem unaffected.

    2) Is there a a way to add in meteorites of new ores added in by other mods (such as Shockah's emeralds/firestone/silver)?

    3) As with 2), is there a way to also add meteorites of smoothstone and obsidian?
