In trying to rebuild my enchanted gear, this is the series of steps I took:

    1. Hmm, I don't have many books ready-made. I'll have to get some leather.
    2. Mothoc's base has a bunch of cows, I'll go there and harvest leather from them.
    3. Okay, now I have some leather and paper. I can make some books.
    4. I'll use Mothoc's enchanting table that's right here to enchant my new books.
    5. Oh, I've just run out of XP for level 3 enchanments. Let me look under his base for a spawner.
    6. Here's an undiscovered spider spawner.
    7. Dig out a large hole so that the spiders take damage when they drop after spawning.
    8. Line the edges of the hole with flowing water so they can't climb back up.
    9. Connect the spider spawner directly to the safe netherpaths so I can get to it without having to navigate all the caves.
    10. Bring in bookshelves and an enchanting table so that I can enchant right there.

All of this instead of these steps I *could* have taken instead:

    1. Find two cows and bring them to my base.
    2. Breed them into a herd.

So... yeah. You know all that diamond gear I lost in lava a week or two ago? Yep, I just did it again! It wasn't quite *everything* this time, just the boots, sword, shovel and the mending pickax I just spent all my emeralds making after the last loss. *sigh*

In part because I've had the song Diggy Diggy Hole running through my head for the last 3 days, and in honor of the massive excavation of the Heart of the Mountain project I've done here, i've created myself a new skin.

I don't particularly identify as a dwarf, but it fits so well. ;)

So I decided to make the cubby where the stone flow wall is into my stone workshop. I'm siphoning all of the stone products from my mass storage center into it. Rather than run back and forth frantically carrying tons of stone, I ran a line of hoppers through the floor to an elevator, and into a stack of chests. I'm going to have to expand it further though. I've got a TON of stone stuff built up - hollowing out a mountain will do that. ;)

I also put in a trash chute under the floor. Running redstone through and around bedrock is tricky.

And just a couple more views of my base. I sometimes forget just how large this space is... As an example, each of the lava storage tubes is 30 blocks high.

I calculated the storage of those Lava Silos - they each hold 152 lavas when full.

I had a busy morning this morning. I finally built a working stone generator, using the video linked below as the model. I modified it though so that the stone flows downward instead of horizontal. Now the innocent-looking back to one of the chambers is actually a stone generator. It's not the fastest in the world, but it'll do, I'm sure.

And all this stone generator cost me was all of my Diamond Mending armor and pickax. A TOTALLY WORTHWHILE EXCHANGE! *headdesk* I burned myself up in lava, because I'm an idiot.

Yeah, I've not been doing much Minecraft lately. :) It's probably a good thing I never seriously thought about trying to get into the whole YouTube Minecraft business. I'd be terrible at it.

Anyways, I've cancelled the Realms subscription and downloaded the world. My tablet is dead, none of the kids ever log in, there's no point to having it anywhere other than on my PC.

Pretty much all I've been doing is mindless expansion digging on the base, clearing out areas that need to be dug and laying floor tiles.

And I came up with a new design for lava storage:

I figure when the Update Aquatic comes out I'll start a new world fresh. I think the exploration is what I enjoy the most.

Slowly trying to convert the bottom of the mountain hollow, I think I like this better than the other versions I've done. It'll be a lot of work, as it's more creative than the others.

The stone flagstones are over lava, which provides the lighting. The stone brick flagstones are not. Pillars are built on top of bedrock, and I try to combine them into structures.

It gives it an organic random feel, I think.

I've almost finished ripping out the glass floor. It's all done except for a few corners.

Man, has it been that long already? Three weeks? Ick!

I haven't been feeling very creative in Minecraft lately. I've still been playing it, but not really doing anything all that exciting. More grinding than building, if you know what I mean.

Last night I started ripping up the floor at the bottom of the Sanctuary, pulling out the glass and lava. I'm going to try a couple of different effects and see if there's any I like better. As I'm doing it I'm stacking the lava into a large tube for storage. I'll probably have to build several of these as the work goes on. I've also converted the waterfall in there into a semi-useful squid farm by putting hoppers underneath it. It's not great, but it does produce.

I do need to get back to work on the iron farm up top - only one compartment has any villagers left in it. I need to finish the pull and push villager elevators, as well as protect the compartments from lightning strikes. I just haven't been feeling motivated to work on that part of things. I'm sure I'll get back to it eventually.

I had a random idea over the weekend of closing this Realm and restarting it as a public one (maybe using Patreon to manage a $1 entry fee per player) where each participant has a Kingdom they can build. Players could work together or not as they wanted. I suspect there are a bunch of those already out there though, so probably not much demand for one, and managing the players could be a bunch of extra work too.

So last night I discovered why just having an open trash pit is a really bad way to dispose of trash when I scrolled 1 spot too far on my hot bar and threw my Sharpness Looting Unbreaking Mending diamond sword into the lava by accident.

Now I'm using a dropper with a burnout clock attached to it. A lever on there keeps the redstone lit until I need it.

I finally finished Endscaping, fencing and flooding the whole place.

Sadly, it still wasn't good enough. I did manage to take it down to about a third health once, but it managed to regen and eventually killed me. Part of the issue is that I can't run fast enough in the water to rush it when it sits on the pillar so I can whack it with the sword. My diamond armor would let me do it I think, but I put it away and was wearing inferior iron gear, so I wouldn't mind losing it.

So I'll have to XP farm and get me some good water boots, I think.

Reached a point on the End terraforming that it's worth showing you what I'm doing. :) I have not yet done this in a complete 360 all around, but I'm *almost* there...

My plan is to have the entire upper layer covered in water. No Endermen to worry about, the dragon magic bombs sometimes don't go off, and if I get knocked high into the air, I always land safely. My plan is to extend the iron railings as high up as I can, so that the dragon can't knock me off the island, but I haven't quite finished flooding the entire top level yet. I'm almost there though. As soon as I'm finished with that I'll start on extending the safety rails.

Been very busy with another project of mine; I'm working on a different family tree display, that's been taking a fair amount of time. However, I have gotten a few things done.

    I needed some coal:

And I came up with a nice build style for the bottom of the Oshewani Sanctuary:

    10/10

    Thank you, I appreciate that!

For my update, I'm again in the position of working on things that are time-consuming but not very photogenic. Replacing all of my mending gear has taken some slogging through the trading system to scrounge up enough emeralds to buy multiple Mending books. And to do that I've had to do some farming, and so on.

I'm working on terraforming the End Dragon's Isle to make soloing it a bit easier. I'm hoping most of it will survive the rebuilding process the island goes through when the dragon respawns. I *think* it just replaces the obsidian pillars and the crystals at the top if they're missing, and I so far haven't touched any of those.

I'm still not 100% sure I like this flooring for the Oshewani Sanctuary, but it's the best I've got so far. I'll probably get about halfway through and come up with something I like better and wind up ripping all this out again. :P

So we went through the End Portal to our new End "City"...

Yep. That's the whole City right there. 1 building. I did manage to collect the parts for two Shulker Boxes though, one for me, and one for my son.

And I ripped the whole thing down for spare parts.
