To everyone else who was not whitelisted, I am sorry, but we have a somewhat 'strict' formula for what we want in a person. It's not something common like "They have to be 18+ or we ignore their application" or even "They need long answers and big applications". It's a combination of varying things we are looking for. You are more than free to apply again if you feel there's something you could improve or feel you left out, but we will not [for obvious reasons] disclose what we are looking for... because then most people would lie. We currently have a very close-knit group of about 5-8 or so people that all get along and like each other. Our goal is to create a server of quality, not quantity.
ZeroCraft is a new survival server looking for some players! It is a 100% vanilla experience with no plugins or modifications to get in the way of the fun in the game. It is a server for mature (preferbly adult) players that want a drama-free, enjoyable atmosphere. As such, acceptance is limited and applications are strict. One word or even one sentence answers aren't going to cut it. Slots are also limited so I'm only looking to accept about five people this round and then the server can grow by inviting their friends and I will pick 5 new people a month. I'm looking to create a server full of people who enjoy each other, not looking to make the greatest or the most elite server. So, if you want to join please fill out the whitelist application and post it here! I'll respond to it within 12 hours at the most.
If you do not log on for more than 7 days, you will be taken off the whitelist. If you'd like to come back, just send me a PM here on the forums and I will reinstate you. If you're going on vacation or something important has come up, PM me and I won't take you off the whitelist. This is just to keep things controlled and not have dozens of people whitelisted that don't even play.
- THE RULES -
1.) No Griefing. This is probably the most common rule for a server, but seriously it's not a suggestion. Griefing, pranking or otherwise harassing a player will result in being banned and blacklisted across dozens of other servers. There are griefing servers where that type of behavior is acceptable. Go there if you need to act like a toddler. 2.) Treat people with respect. Everyone has feelings and there are real people behind those computer screens. If someone is bothering you or annoying you in any way, you can /msg them and tell them [politely] what they are doing wrong that upsets you. If that doesn't solve anything, just let me know and I'll handle it. Rudeness will not be tolerated. 3.) Don't explore too far. While this server is vanilla and the world is unlimited, in order to keep memory and cpu from crashing the server, please keep yourself under the 35,000 coords. Spawn is around 200/300 so that's not too much to ask. It's a large biome world so every biome should be within 35,000 coords. If we can upgrade our plan later on, I will raise this limit. 4.) Please follow the rules. As silly as that sounds, people seem to think it's an option when it isn't. There's no reason you shouldn't. 5.) Don't beg. Don't ask for free items, food, tools or armor and most importantly don't ask to be staff/mod/op/admin. There's nothing wrong with asking "Does anyone have any spare food?" or "Do you have melon seeds?" etc. However, expecting people to do things for you isn't okay. Hopefully because this is a mature server, we won't have that. 6.) Be responsible with use of PvP. We have PvP enabled, but if it gets out of control, we are turning it off. You cannot attack or kill someone unless you BOTH consent to the fight. You both need to write in the chat that you agree to fight so that everyone/staff can view it. Otherwise it could cause drama. The winner is not obligated to return the loser's items. The winner can if he/she wants and the loser can ask, but they aren't obligated.

If you don't have FTP access to your files you will likely need to ask your host how to run the specific JAR. (Some hosts don't have the necessary security setup to allow upload of custom JARs, so they need to manage the JARs themselves.)
The control panel is nice and all, but with my host... I can only choose from a select few minecraft jars ranging from various vanilla and bukkit builds. I don't have full FTP access to everything. I can only access the plugin and world folders... and as for individual files it's only the whitelist, banlist, operators list, server log nad server properties.

Why do you want to join?:
I would like to join because I'm in need of a server to play on. Single-player's fun and all, but it's very limited in the sense that it gets rather boring after you've tried multi-player. It's almost as if I'm unable to play without interaction with other Minecrafters to feed ideas off of or get opinions or ask questions... all in all, I really just like playing with other people so that's my main reason for looking at servers to join.
Now the reason this server attracted me specifically is mainly due to the way the front post was presented, the rules, the style and concept of the server itself. It seems like it's a good server and definitely worth a shot. I've been on dozens of servers, but only two have ever kept me around for more than a week. I don't really play on them anymore due to some problems or even people I found I couldn't tolerate (I don't like arrogant/rudeness at all).
I am now looking to joining this server because based off of the various information you've provided, I feel this would be a nice fit! Plus, I'd like to play Minecraft with a friend of mine (apricot_rain) and since we both don't have our server, we both agreed this one was worth trying. So I hope we both get in!
How often do you play?:
I'm on the computer playing one game or another about 15 hours a day. However, I have a job now so my time will be a bit more limited so I'll be on there about 2-4 hours (give or take) on my working days and probably a lot more during my days off.
What should I know about you?:
I like to build, explore and mine... the only thing I'm not so great with is redstone, but I can make some nice automated farms and a 2x2 piston door (to me, this is 1337 xD) So, if you'd allow me to join, I know I can contribute.
We will not be accepting anymore new people until December 1, 2012 when we reopen. We are going to spend the next week working on the server and setting some things up.
Unfortunately, due to several problems stemming from irresponsible, immature minecrafters we are forced to use LogBlock as well as some other anti-grief plugin measurements. It's a disappointment, but thanks to the actions of idiots who don't seem to care about how their actions have effects on other people besides themselves, we can't be a 100% pure vanilla server... in fact i doubt any server can really survive that way anymore unless you only play with people you know from real life.
People who were/are white-listed can still play and help the server's "construction process". Giving ideas and suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Anyways, check back in December for a reborn ZeroCraft. One that hopefully is much better than this one. =)
I would like to speak on behalf of my friend whom applied. Lyon400 is equally as versed in Minecraft as I. Would you do me the favor of reconsidering him, if I asked him to resubmit his application. To be honest, I'm looking to play with him.
