My strategy is to make sure that I am not the most appealing target out there. It actually isn't too hard to do. Here is what I do:
Walk with a purpose, keep a brisk but comfortable stride.
Do not look around nervously, use your periferals and environment (reflective surfaces) to keep tabs on what is going on.
Dress to blend in, try not to stick out and look either really rich or really poor for the area.
Do not broadcast that you have money (should be self explanatory).
Also, I like to carry an everyday item that could be used as a weapon if threatened (and cornered). However, do not carry something out of place, make it something that blends in with what you are wearing. For example, I have a four-foot golf umbrella that I carry with me when it looks like it could rain. It makes sense and doesn't look out of place because it is something a normal person would carry with what the weather looks like.
OR depending on where you are:
Baton, what I would say is the most effective self defense weapon.
EDIT: Why I think it is the best is because it requires little training, immobilizes in very few hits, while not exposing you to gore or other things that would cause you to freeze or choke. It often isn't fatal, unless you are aiming for the head so if self defense laws are strict it makes it easier on you if you go to court or anything like that.
Specifically expandable batons like this:
A folding knife that functions as a tool or a self defense weapon.
SOG's flash or trident are excellent examples.
Below is the flash II, which is what I generally carry.
As well you have the general firearm, which requires a CHL or CCW, Tazers and Stunguns as well as Mace and Pepper Spray.
I was NOT joking about the steak knife. That is probably what I would do but than again I would probably end up getting killed or killing someone. Also, if you are fast enough you can call the cops and taunt them while you run.
I know what to do in situations like this because I live in the "American Ghetto Land" ...
So have I, also as someone who has collected knives and such, a steak knife is very inefficient when it comes to both thrusting and slashing. It also will fall under the category of illegal knife in most instances.
Here is two methods.
Method one! Badass killer: Start working out, get a steak knife, and if you see them just get a psychotic grin on your face and stare them down. If they walk towards you pull out the knife and say "Bad idea..." and laugh like a maniac.
Watch their eyes, if they look nervous walk towards them with a evil grin. And then start to chase them if they begin to back away. If they are NOT scared go ****ing batshit crazy and start slashing at them. Also, don't fatally wound anyone.
Method two! Smart guy: Carry SOME sort of weapon incase they try to attack you and carry a phone.
If ya see em just pull out your phone and say "I will call the ****ing cops on you little bitches." (Maybe a little less insults... You do NOT want to **** off people like that because they are ignorant and will probably try to kill you.) and if they say anything just call the cops and run for your ****ing life.
Hope this helps out and also, act like you have no feelings or emotions. People are scared of people like that.

We were obviously talking about towers, but here's the thing. Alienware buys parts from children sweatshops in 3rd world countries and buys the worst quality, and overcharges around 200% for identical parts. You could probably build an identical laptop for 50% less cost than an M15x

Hi, I've been saving up for a while now for a custom computer (Dell Custom Business and Workstation Desktop) and I pretty much made it awesome. 8GB RAM, i7 processor, etc. But I'm afraid that these computers won't have good video cards. Any help? My requirements are:
- Windows 7
- 64bit
- Hopefully more that 6GB of RAM
- i7 processor
- Must be stationary, not a laptop.
- More than 250GB of Hard Drive Space
- Must have awesome Video card, HD and all
- Have a good capture card
- Have a good graphics card
- Come from a reliable and well-known brand, like HP and Dell, not Fojo Computers or anything like that (In case you didn't know, I made that up so don't look it up)

Also what would you be using it for? Most of the time there is no benefit in getting an i7.
I am almost always armed, and have training, so I don't worry about these encounters much. Now I am not saying I am a badass and going to take them on, but depending on the number of kids, I can handle myself. As well Texas laws for use of force and deadly force are not very strict at all, threats even give you the right to use deadly force if you feel your life may be in danger.

If I can't run, pull out a weapon and go ape-**** crazy. Intimidation means a lot, if a group of kids sees one of their buddies get stabbed repeatedly or have eyes gorged out and such, they aren't likely to continue.
But almost always run and get help is the right way to go about it.

Sorry, but you can not run most high detailed games maxed out with 60 fps with those specs. A gt 440 can not max out BF3 or Crysis 2 which are both often used to benchmark systems for gaming performance.
Edit: Also, I don't consider CoD to be included in high detail games because they don't require high-end equipment to run.
