Guys this is just like the 1 million different patents for a simple toaster.
They change the language and the order but a process like this is a general use thing and therefore the patent is useless.

soooo the updates are here and yet the clay is not generating on maps already in use kinda hoping i dont need to start again.
If you've loaded all chunks YUP
It's not like the PC where you can just keep going and eventually you'll get new terrain.
Cause it's a patch with a mini update, not a full on 1.7.3 update. -

Jesus that is really sad.
Just because you can't use a glitch that WASN'T intended, you will quit the game?
So when you paid 20 bucks, you bought it so you could duplicate items? I don't recall buying the game for that reason.
I have a MASSIVE castle. On normal difficulty. With mined resources. It's not hard.
You didn't buy the game to dupe, you bought it to play survival mode just like the description said.
Either stop whining, and play it like a man by mining resources (which isn't hard), or just quit until creative comes out and you can make your pretty little statues.
Mojang isn't going to care that your friends and your friends friends quit because of some stupid bug.
Gamers these days I swear.
The description was a building game, I'd call it one with survival as an option.
Also mods aren't intended by the devs but guess what? many survive and thrive. Inventory editors were huge before creative mode took over. All the dispenser glitch is, is an in game version of one in which you already have to have atleast 1 of the items.
Good for you, I build legitly too but I have friends who have built more than a castle, one friend in particular has created so much (70% legit by the way) that I'm feeling for him right now. Building a town that covers the entire center of your map is a feat, especially with huge steam punk bridges, temples, trainstations, etc all alone would require massive amounts of time not available to some people. Rather he enjoys the building aspect of the game (which is why there IS a creative mode.
Also we have no idea when 1.8 is coming, those people who quit because of this might never come back to mcx because they felt discourages and might pick up other games. That might seem fine to you but some excellent builders that would put you to shame are in that group- so get off the high horse and atleast try to understand where some people are coming from with complaints about the update.
Mojang and 4j might not care but as part of the PC and MCX communities I prefer see talent in MC bloom no matter what shape it takes. Thinking that they build little statues shows just what you lack in imagination.
Good Day sir -
Jun 15, 2012ManEatingManatee posted a message on MCX360 Updates Today!I still disagree that the duping bug needed to be fixed so fastPosted in: News
No real reason to get rid of it until creative mode was on the agenda for an upcoming update in the near future (read 1-2 months away)
As a legit builder I know the time it takes to collect resources that are completely random, so I feel for those who just want to build to the hearts content and have duped to make it so they have an in game inventory editor with only the natural blocks available. Before anyone complains no achievements, no leaderboard stats, and no one was affected by this glitch unless they let it affect them. If you don't want duping in your game, kick dupers and hide your dispenser. If you don't want to play with dupers, leave their game. But don't cheer for a bug fix that fixes a glitch that has leg to awesome structures being built faster by those who love the building side of minecraft who can't wait for creative whenever that will come out.
All it does is discourage many in the MCX community to continue playing, who knows if they'll come back to apply their building skills when creative comes out, by that time they may move to other games and might not even give MCX a second thought after 4j eliminated their shortcut around spending hours collecting resources when they have lives that they can't devote entirely to MCX -

Then don't update
I know people who made a roller coaster "WITHOUT" The duping glitch. and it's a big roller coaster
I make big things legitly too but some things are simply too large to do with collecting the materials and having a life. A roller coaster is a relatively easy thing anyway.. -

Ok first off, Thank you for adding an update/bug fix so quickly, alot of games take months to do the first update.. I am also wondering if the fixes for clay and such will be retro active to existing game saves or if we have to start new..
And thank you for fixing that Duping glitch, GET RID OF SHORTCUTS that take away from what people with real Creative Talent can do with what they have.. that being said:
People bother me,, Half of the whole game is to MINE your materials, i.e. MINEcraft, If you run out of material start a new game.. And i hear there will be a creative mode coming out for the 360 eventually as well. I personally choose not to DUPE. Having to actually MINE all my material satisfies me better.. A bunch of lazy people out there who only want short cuts and cant actually do the work to get to the goal..
Then why is there a creative mode at all if it's MINEcraft? What if you don't want to start a new map cause your current build is huge. Your lack of imagination disturbs me. Lazy? You call those who spend hours and hours building giant projects who just want to save a little time on gathering materials that can take even more hours lazy? Get off the high horse.
Creative mode won't be out for the 360 for months at the least. That's not soon and to fix the dupe bug would be to discourage those who enjoy building more than collecting resources.Quote from psychoticworm
Ok I've read all of the comments thus far, and I have to say, why is the dupe glitch so important? Creative mode will be out soon enough, so don't worry so much. They're fixing the glitch so that its fair to people who play legitimately to create massive structures in their SURVIVAL mode game, work hard mining, gathering, and smelting. The dupe glitch really does take away some of the enjoyment, in all honesty. I personally didn't even know it existed until spending a few hours lurking the forums here.
That being said, there are a few pros to the dupe glitch though, like it could be used to dupe clay/brick in a world where its virtually nonexistant. I can see the practicality there. But when I take a well rounded look at the issue, I think of things the glitch could really affect negatively, the leaderboards like mentioned, and suppose sometime in the future we have minecraft tournaments, or marathon contests, it just affects the overall FAIRNESS of the game.
So don't stress it, Creative mode will give you exactly what you're craving from minecraft on the 360 without the workaround. I have both the 360 and PC version, and for those that don't know what creative mode is like, its quite an experience. Just be patient and understand that the dupe fix is for the better of the community.
How does it take away your enjoyment if someone in their own game dupes their stuff? that's like before creative mode was reintroduced on the PC to rail against inventory editors and the like. How does it effect the leader boards besides giving rails that have to be placed anyway and people could just make small circles and ride them infinitely anyway? There are no leaderboard stats that I can tell that are affected by having 64 stacks of 64 diamonds or stone or wood.
Yeah if we had contests then it'd be up to the host to determine those sorts of things but those are the rules of the contest- not the rules of the game.
How is it unfair that some people dupe in their game and choose to build like that? It's their personal game and if they try to dupe in your game to out do you, just kick them.
again, we don't know when creative mode will be available but going by the current rate it will be months before creative comes- in the meanwhile the community base will hemorhage builders, good builders, because they'll not have the time to collect the resources necessary and they'll lose interest in favor of other games- especially as Fall rolls around.
Also again MY PERSONAL WORLD IS LEGIT, but I play with some dupe users in their worlds who have made wonderful, amazing things and I'm fighting for their ability to continue building as such. -

I don't care about the leaderboards at all. I think they are pointless in a game like Minecraft.
However, there are some people out there who do enjoy them a lot. For them, it's a fun way to compete with others on a game that isn't necessarily competitive in nature. I could care less if people want to build larger more intricate structures, but exploiting a glitch is still cheating. Not to mention that the duping glitch is a way to cheat to get achievements, which doesn't sit well with Microsoft. People knew it was a glitch, exploited it, and are now whining that it's being fixed.
People who like the dupe glitch can just wait for Creative Mode.
Which achievements can be done by duplication cause I'd love to hear them? Besides on a rail which requires you to legitly place every piece.
Which parts of the leader boards besides travel by rail would be affected? None. There's travel, mining (breaking blocks), farming (which can be farmed in the first place), and combat. Besides the leaderboards have already been taken over by bots at the top with numbers in the trillions. Why not take the bots down first?
So what are mods? they aren't part of the game so people can't use them? Inventory Editors have been with minecraft for a long time, especially when there was no creative mode outside of classic. Because mods aren't available to Xbox owners I think this relatively harmless glitch can be let go until creative mode comes. To get rid of it now with no creative on the near horizon would only serve to disinterest many in the community who love building and build well on the xbox but need more materials than their map or time permit them to collect.
This glitch while exploitable is hardly what I'd call a game breaking one in need of being addressed. if creative mode were a month away I wouldn't be so adamant but because we don't know when and won't for a while I don't see why this in game method of inventory editting needs to be cut immediately. You say they can wait but waiting for how long? Build loves will drop the game, maybe not even pick it back up by the time creative comes out, many would likely move on, killing the MCX community base. -

LOL.
2 minutes.
Look at the OP's trying to stop the dispenser glitch.
You are sad CHEATERS.
You are not playing "Creative mode"
You are playing survival noob.
THE ENTIRE POINT OF Survival is to survive and be creative with work not duplicate :DDD
Inventory Editors were made for exactly the same use as the dupe glitch when creative mode wasn't available, learn before speaking.

Normally, I would agree with you, but in the case of Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, you're wrong.
It effects everyone who plays the game. The Xbox 360 version has leaderboards. Those leaderboards are rendered completely useless when people can boost their ranking by duping every single item they have. So it does effect everyone.
So measuring your E-Weinie is so important that allowing people to build larger and more intricate structures easier than normal is not allowed? It effects leaderboards, not people- it's not like a glitch where you become unkillable in a game, it's not like that glitch in ACR that let's you teleport twice in a matter of seconds. It doesn't break the game, it doesn't hinder any enjoyment of the game besides measuring your E-wienie.
I build my personal world legit and it's hard/tedious work at times, if some people want to make it easier on themselves I don't see why they shouldn't be able to. Just remove the leaderboards TADA! -

It would be suicide not to get rid of it. Any and all duping glitches are game breakers and must be dealt with ASAP.
Letting the community keep a duping glitch would be like letting a kid eat candy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It may be what we want, but it's unhealthy for the game and would be irresponsible for the developers to allow it.
One word
BORDERLANDS
They allowed gun duping and the game survived JUST FINE.
Not to mention the glitch acts as a semi inventory editor, something that's been available for MC for ages! Stop being elitist in thinking the game can only be played one way. There are worse exploits out there and one person duping in their own game, it does not affect your gameplay and your enjoyment unless you let it. - To post a comment, please login.

Use Tinypic instead, much more straightforward. though you would have to link each picture and use [simg] tags

I love the idea, it'd make building ships even more fun than just having anchored and useless beautiful ships.
Floating cities and fortresses are also a good idea.
My only worry is the lag of moving that many blocks at once.

Superpickaxe can break bed rock and you can just edit it out with the //cut command

Is that repelling force gone from blocks when you try to noclip now?

Thanks. I had to downgrade to 1.5.1 though cause right now there are some really annoying bugs in 1.6 like not being able to place tracks or ladders on glowstone. And then SPC is having troubles noclipping because Notch decided to change some block codes so now blocks repel you from trying to pass through.

Then there's the fact that pre update you could put torches and rails and ladders on glowstone and now you can't which is just stupid of the team to do.

It used to be perfectly acceptable and now it doesn't want to work for me
