Why don't you tweet Roger Carpender? Won't he know because I thought he was answering questions?
Not sure who that is.
I'll just wait for the beta. I'll know one way or another if what was said on the twitch stream was correct or not if there is no infinite world size option in the beta.
First, he says he's "not sure", thus I put more weight into Mojangs definitive "yes".
Second, the question was a generic "console". Not Bedrock or Better Together.
No the question was definitely about bedrock especially as he mentioned realms in his answer. I saw the question in the text chat
But yes he didn't sound sure so hopefully i'm worrying about nothing. I suppose we'll just have to wait for the beta
Then they are lying or wrong. For what you are saying to be true oes against all indications, in print, from Mojang and literally breaks the core function of Bedrock, in that it is identical code on all versions. And I have tested W10 Bedrock myself; Ive flown in creative far from the edge of where the map would stop on console.
I sincerely hope they are wrong or I heard them wrong. I'm currently watching the video again on Twitch to see if I can find it.
When the mixer stream is available on demand watch it.
I could swear he was on about the bedrock edition because he mentioned needing realms for infinite worlds. When I said xbox one edition I meant xbox one version of better together.
As for playing someone on PC. If they are hosting the world they will be the server so the unlimited world will be stored on their PC and not the console.
If what I heard was correct then it's a major disappointment. I couldn't care less about servers. I just want infinite worlds but looks like I will have to pay for realms to get an infinite world.
Isn't it best to wait until the beta is out on xbox one before discussing whether they should keep updating the current edition or not?
Until we can all see how the beta performs and what the servers and mini games are like, we cant really say whether discontinuing the current edition really is a bad thing or not.
This thread has gotten a bit hostile and beta isn't even out yet.
If Nintendo WiiU is anything like xbox 360, xbox one, ps3 and ps4 then there is no way to go back to an earlier title update.
In fact Title update 9 is an xbox 360 update number. The Wii U edition of minecraft wouldn't have existed back then so even if it was possible to go back to earlier title updates it would be impossible to go that far back on the Wii U
I always use it to build safe roads in the nether between different portals. Also build a chamber around each portal in the nether to make it impossible for ghast fireballs to hit the portal.
I also build safe rooms at various points along these nether roads so I can retreat to when in trouble or to store loot.
All this lets me safely use the nether to travel long distances in the overworld

No they are not 4j people.
They are the official PR people for Mojang/Microsoft. They are american and are streaming from Microsoft in America
4J are scottish and would be streaming from Scotland

Just changed my vote to NO.
Was just watching the minecraft channel on Mixer and someone asked about infinite worlds.
He said the xbox one edition wont be getting infinite worlds due to file size restrictions. You need to pay for a realm if you want infinite worlds.
So seems that if what he said was true then I would rather stay on the console edition and keep my map coordinates

Just to challenge myself I created that seed in creative mode and went straight to the stronghold.
It's actually massive and on many levels. Spent about an hour looking and just can't find the portal.
Either it's not there or it really hidden.
You should recreate the seed in creative and see if you have any better luck yourself.

Create a new creative world with that exact seed and head straight to the stronghold.
In creative its easier to find the portal as you can fly and dig through walls with ease.

Unfortunately until Sony allow the better together update the ps4 version is unlikely to get command blocks.

Didn't realise it was that many maps. thought it was 9 for some reason. Probably because of the trophy.
Yes the option to make maps bigger like on better together update would be a good idea.

Have you tried an un-enchanted sword?
This will rule out a bug cause by the looting enchantment
