Hey, posted something about this in another thread, and there's lots of 'omg it crashes' threads, but none of them seem to emphasize the item loss. I can deal with crashing (minecraft has always crashed fairly frequently for me and everyone I know) but the losing of chests with things in them is rather troublesome. I lost all my coco beans and am sad now. Anyone know what's up with this/if Mojang knows?
Here's another guy who mentions the same thing:
and it's not just Mac either, because I'm running windows.
Edit: forgot to mention that exactly what seems to happen is that you're toodling around and then the game crashes. You restart it and the chests/furnaces/whatever are gone.

Apr 19, 2011Yeah, I just noticed a chest disappear after a crash. It had my coco beans in it. :sad.gif:Posted in: Legacy Support
On windows, by the way. The crashing isn't new to this update, but the magic disappearing stuff is. Anyone else/anyone know what's going on?
Nov 1, 2010That sounds REALLY cool. I'm not sure it's possible or not, but if it is someone should totally do it. It actually surprises me that there aren't more sophisticated map editors out there (although I'm speaking from relative ignorance). More-or-less simple things like this would make map editing in minecraft very powerful.Posted in: Mods Discussion

Bricks aren't really practical and are also not stone, and cobblestone always looks so...street-like. I'd prefer something that looks like you could really build something out of it. 2, 4 and 6 do kind of look brick-like, but I don't think that's a bad thing.Posted in: Resource Packs
tl;dr: 2, 4 or 6 ftw.

I especially like the idea of letting glass double as a structural piece. And also the cactus. And also the doors, and the iron, and more or less everything. :tongue.gif:Posted in: Resource Packs
If you want to keep working on this, that'd be also amazing, but I wouldn't worry about disappointing people. I'm pretty sure we'd all still love you if you stopped working on it as-is.
Aug 25, 2010I think what the OP means is that minecraft.net is down right now meaning you can't join as whatever your username is. Even if the server is in offline mode, everyone connecting connects as "Player". Since the server won't allow the same username to connect twice, only one person can be logged in at one time. Anyone know if it's possible to get around that?Posted in: Alpha - Survival Multiplayer Support
Aug 24, 2010So, having perused the internets to no avail I'm hoping someone here knows the answer to this. Minecraft servers (both classic and Alpha SMP) won't run on my pc. I double click on the icon, and nothing happens. At all. I can't even tell if it starts any processes (I can't see anything obviously minecraft related anyway). I'm running Vista x64, and I know other people have gotten it to work on this OS, but I'm at a loss.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Multiplayer Support
