There's a version for 1.10? That's news to me. If someone else is working on Ars Magica II right now, then I'll drop that. Twilight Forest though...

    Hey there.

I'll explain my goal: There is an absolutely AMAZING mod called Ars Magica II. Problem is, the author has stopped work on it, but it's too good for progress to leave behind! The last version of AM2 (Ars Magica II) was compatible with 1.7.10. We currently have 1.12. Way back when 1.7.10 was the newfangled thing, this mod recreated Minecraft far more than any mod. But eventually 1.7.10 got a little dated. While everyone else was playing 1.9, I was still on 1.7.10 just because of that mod. Eventually however, I resigned and left AM2 behind, as well as 1.7.10. After I left AM2, MC has been rather dead to me, tbh. It would be wicked if I could somehow update a "finished" mod so it can be compatible with newer versions of Minecraft. How do I open a finished mod and edit it with eclipse? I would also like to do the same thing with the Twilight Forest mod. AM2 and Twilight Forest went SO well together!

So please, tutorials, step by steps? Honestly, I do not have a lot of experience coding (though I've done some codecademy stuff with both HTML and Java). I really want to know if it is possible to "work backwards" by importing a finished mod and editing it. It would be great to bring these almost-but-not-quite dead mods back into the roll of things.

"Q. Where is the Wiki? / How do I play?
    A. The current Wiki is only for the 1st and 2nd versions. Items have ingame tool tips and I would recommend NEI for recipes."

I'm thinking, "Ha!" Because I have CraftingGuide. :-P

Sounds like you'd be better off just building your own modpack. the good thing with 1.7.10 is you don't have to worry about item IDs, so as long as you don't have two mods that are constantly breaking each other just throwing everything into one instance of minecraft and hitting "Play" tends to work.

Or you could learn how to use Minetweaker and Modtweaker and make things more intigrated, but it's not really necessary.

XD I don't know how to make a modpack, but if I know the definition correctly, I think I might have found the mods for one: Ars Magica 2, Mo' Creatures, Biomes O' Plenty, Twilight Forest, Pam's HarvestCraft, and Bibliocraft. I also have Item Physics and CraftGuide, but those are just helpers/effects. But those 6 would be perfect for a Magic Modpack! It'd be awesome! I also used John Smith Legacy's 1.7.10 texture pack, for added "magic effect" and creepiness.

I don't know myself! I'm kind of...actually...RE-asking that question. For example, type in your browser, "minecraft castles" and go to images. OBSERVE..... I can't make that! WHERE DO YOU GET THE IDEAS? HOW DO YOU PLAN? I don't know! ANY VIDEOS TO HELP??

posted a message on How to make a Minecraft Mod for 1.7.10 [Setup]

I am SOOO confused O_o. I think you are running windows 7, but I'm running 8.1. Things are different. When I type that "gradlew setupDecompWorkspace eclipse" into the CMD, NOTHING at ALL happens to my folder, (I think) but I'm not completely sure that it even "registered" on it. And, you just don't explain very well. I might have to fill in some of your holes myself, which might be very hard. Also, where do I find the PART 2 to this? What's it titled? There is no "Continue" button at the bottom of your page. Just a "NOOB TEST" junk ad. I REALLY DO WANT HELP, and I'm hoping that ANYBODY will at least try to answer my question(s). Please and thank you!
