Not sure if there's another forum for this to be in but here goes ^.^ This has been a real bother for me ever since i started thinking of server ideas (it's up now, i just need this final addition). I know Factions is more of a PVP based plugin but I've seen Towny used for PVP as well, and I've seen both being used for NONPVP (or just PVE). I've also noticed that there are a few versions under the name of each and while the differences are stated on the plugin's page, I still can't seem to figure out which I should use. So, Towny? Or Factions?
I've seen some servers with Towny AND Factions but I'm not sure if its on one single server. Not that it matters because I doubt I could handle them both running on mine .
Okay, I started setting up my own server yesterday and got it off the ground so I haven't been looking that much for a new server. This thread can die or be closed or whatever should the Mods choose to do so. I apologize to everyone for the lack of good faith :/
I did however take the time to check out StarSkyer, kullandin, and zxxzquack's threads/website; they seem alright but I don't think they're for me
For anyone reading this I wanna say that I don't just reject servers cuz I can, I actually read the threads, websites, etc., I read other player's reviews of the server, I even go as far as to look through player lists, to see if there's anyone I know or have had issues with in the past (in an almost stalkerish manner I might add ). I also try to maintain a list of servers that I've been on before so as to not return and somehow embarrass myself (just my luck).
So yea sorry to bore you with my little speech, but I'll mainly be working on my own server for now (any advice would be appreciated btw )
I joined and looked through all the servers posted above (with the exception of onionbro's) and checked all available websites. Sadly, none of these seemed right for me. I will continue my search here as well as the servers forum. If any of you care to know why I didn't choose your server pm me.
That's very generous of you medion, but I think it might be a bit awkward to just come back. While AH was a server I played on for a long while, I just think it'd be best if I moved on. I don't want anyone mistaking me for the person I used to be, if you catch my meaning.
I'm looking for a mature, friendly, NONpvp server thats fairly small. I've been playing since around 1.5-1.6 beta. I have experience as a moderator and admin on several servers, though I am not asking to be a part of your staff. I want a server where I can join and not be ignored after the first day I join, banned etc. without a reason, or harrassed or griefed by the staff. I don't really have a preference on plugins. I'm just looking to be apart of a friendly community. Thanks for reading and please consider my request.
Edit: I'd like to add a few things to maybe help narrow down my search for a server: Non whitelist (greylist is fine), some form of protection (explosions and locks). I'm 18 if age is a join requirement.
This server is amazing! Ive only been on here for about an hour or so and I love it. The staff is helpful and there is plenty of information available about using the many plugins. Honestly the only way this server would be better is if it had some form of skill plugin (like mcmmo) but opinions vary on that subject. Id give this server 9/10

Tell us a bit about your minecraft history. I've been playing since 1.6/1.7 moving around from server to server, with the occasional ban(due to immature admins or servers shutting down)
edit: also, I cannot reach the server either and it appears that im not the only person having this problem. :/ it said there were 6 people on when i tried, so the server cant be down; idk what the problem is...
just got back and reading this thread... i agree with the person who said the sandbox feeling shouldnt be taken away and this "enderoflife" person needs to stfu and stop quoting everyones opinions -.-
