Voila! In view humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the “vox populi” now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin, van guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V.

But... they will just call me crazy

looks interesting, an idea for you though is to also add a canal on top of the railway as your setup seems perfect for that. Anyway good luck with the project and welcome to the forums.

This idea would be full of win, and i was even already planning on how to implement it, but then i remembered, the whole point of the railway is that I am connecting a place i already reached by boat. If i ever rail my way away from water I will definatly try this out though. Thank you.

Umm .. now, tell me - what is strip-mine? o_O

Well... i stripped it all the way back, then widened it.. i guess its kinda hard to see from the picture. its just a really wide hole in the wall where i got my cobble

    All my live long days....

    Cheesy intro ftw? :biggrin.gif:

I would like to introduce myself to the minecraft community, and I would like to share my work I have done so far on minecraft alpha. So hello :tongue.gif:

What I have been doing most recently is working on a railway that connects 2 of my bases. One base is quite obviously my main base, and has a railway already that leads to a third base. When I was exploring, I was in a boat, and I came upon a amazing natural bay that will soon be transformed into a fortress overlooking the bay. The only problem is that to build this fortress, I need massive amounts of materials, mostly cobble stone. All of my strip mines are at my main base, So I am creating a railway to easily send resources en masse. It is turning out to be quite a project, the distance between both of these bases are a LOT larger that I first thought. Without further a due, I shall present you pictures and explanations of the project.

The first picture here is the whole map (well the parts that matter) with captions. Just a general overlook.

This second photo is just of the main base with the railway shown closer.

This photo is of an inside view of the railway itself.

This is a photo of my strip mine.

This, as well as the next picture, answer the question I am sure many of you have. Everything I have ever done on this map... or any map actually, is 100% legit. I strip mined every block, I mines every bit of coal to smelt the glass, I mined all the sand, I did everything all by myself, and it is defiantly a work in progress.

This is a picture of the sand mine.

When done it will all connect then I can begin work on the walled fortress.

Also another work in progress is a elaborate imbued church of notch :iapprove: :Notch: . But I am going to have to pre design that in creative.

Also, this is a picture of my light house. It took a good bit of time, if anyone was interested.

Please, PLEASE comment and suggest stuff, tell me what to add, etc. I greatly appreciate constructive criticism.

If anyone wants to see more of anything i build I will be glad to take more pictures.

Thank you all, and hello :biggrin.gif:

would result into a MMORPG wich i dont want it to turn in

MMORPG? WTF, this is a Single Player game mode.

But what you are suggesting would turn it into a MMORPG. Races? No. how would being an orc benefit you in this game?

Professions? You would have like... 2 or 3.. Mining, Woodcutting, and farming. And why would you want to devote your time to ONLY mining, or only farming?

What you are suggesting does not fit into the game at all.

posted a message on A couple questions from a noob?
I just bought the game 2 days ago, and so far, I love it. I have been reading over some of the guides here, so any questions I ask, I hope are not answered elsewhere.

The first question is I saw on a youtube video someone selected the map type they wanted, hell, snowy, floating, etc. How do I do that? I heard about NBEdit or NBforge or something but It all seemed to be fore infdev or indev, will it work for alpha?

Secondly, what is with powered minecarts? They cant push me... when i click them they go the opposite direction... very annoying....

third, Is only one guy named notch developing this game? doesnt that seem scary? what if he gets sick or bored? all updates to the game stop.

fourth, How big do you expect this game to get? it has a lot of potential, possibly thousands of different recipes.

If i can think of more questions, I will ask. Thank you all for the responses in advance.
