    I know. Even a decrease in size and fixed hitbox if they are necessary. Maybe even the capabilities of destroying trees so they wouldn't be trapped in a forest. Or maybe they could just be a stronghold boss or something

    IDK, I don't care how much work it takes, it would be nice to see them in the game. We need more mini bosses aside from the enderdragon.

    Isn't it about time they added the Giant to Vanilla? I mean, come on, make it even a 1/100 chance of spawning if you wish, I just want to roam the land of Minecraft and encounter a giant.

    You can't say it doesn't fit the theme either cause it is just a big zombie.

    I keep crashing. I install Mod Loader and it works fine, goes to the minecraft menu and all that. Then I exit and try to install LB and it lets me log in, displays the Mojang screen, and then crashes.

    I can't get the error report because the window closes too quickly. Someone has to have had a similar problem as me, what am I doing wrong here?

    I think it was intended cause it was suggested quite a bit when they were first introduced... And since cats don't really have a combat aspect (their only uses are aesthetics and driving off creepers) it seems fair.

    Also, cats have a lower terminal velocity and a righting reflex which means they don't get hurt when they fall as much. Now if they were to be pushed off of an extremely high point, yes, they would die. But in Minecraft, they won't be taking that big of falls as they travel with the players. If you're walking around, some of the biggest falls you will see are 5-10 blocks maybe?
    There's no way to heal cats either, so they just make it so they don't take fall damage.

    I like it this way, I hope they don't change it.

    All good ideas, but I like Endermanvscreeper12's a lot.

    It all fits in with the hierarchy; doing different quests for different villagers will give you a position in the town. If you work hard enough for long enough, you might become a guard or mayor or something.

    But I do agree with the game not turning into villagecraft. Which is where the toggle structures would come in.

    Now that we have some new testie AI, it's obvious that Jon is paying plenty of attention to the NPCs. So, I ask you, what would you like to see them do with villages in future updates?

    My hopes:
    I think (and this is a lengthy project, I know) villages need to have their own economic/government system. I.e. trading, hierarchy, maybe crime and punishment? A village should have a certain trade...
    Trade:
    One village in the desert might have a mineshaft located in the middle of the town and be a mining town and sell mineral based items. Iron, gold bars, diamonds, coal, armor, weapons, tools, the possibilities go on. On the other hand, a village in a plain might be a farming/hunter gatherer trade. Apples, various meats, colored wool, animal eggs (Big one, obviously would be more expensive), grass blocks, wheat, seeds, cane, and all of your farming and culinary related items.

    Gold nuggets would seem fitting as the new form of currency

    Expansion:
    When you first generate a chunk that has a village in it, the village will start in its most primal form. As you spend more time around the village, you'll begin to notice the village expanding. New villagers would spawn (maybe children?) and villagers would be given the ability to place blocks to construct houses, churches, blacksmiths, wells, etc.

    Hierarchy:
    We already see varied types of NPCs in villages, but they really have no purposes yet. Priests, Professors, and Farmers are all the same right now. With a caste system, specific types of NPCs will do specific actions.
    A priest might bless you based on your karma and conformity with the villages. Blessings would come in the form of enchantments to your armor and weapons that you have in your inventory.
    Professors have studied the world of Minecraft since they were born.. Their houses are filled with bookshelves containing infinite knowledge about the world around you. Professors would work as a travel guide, giving you information about the surrounding area. A full encyclopedia with all knowledge on mobs/items is available (INCLUDING IN GAME CRAFTING RECIPE GUIDES) and you could also "consult" the professor, asking him about aspects of the surrounding land.
    A professor might offer to tell you the coordinates of a big cave, monster spawners, specific biomes (MOOSHROOM ISLANDS), other villages, etc. Ask them about anything...
    Mayors would be in charge of the whole village and would most likely have guards to protect and serve the village.

    Crime and Punishment:
    Killing or even damaging a villager, stealing from the village, vandalizing, and a whole list of other crimes could be punishable. Upon committing these crimes, guards would come after you and try to capture you. You can choose to fight or submit. Punishment would not be simply jail time however... Punishment would involve remedial tasks that would last for a certain period of time. (Who wants to sit in a jail cell for 3-5 Minecraft days anyway?) Also, upon capture, perhaps all your items/money would be stripped of your possession.
    If you do manage to wipe out an entire village (Mostly just killing the Mayor would trigger it), word of your treachery might reach nearby villages and you would be attacked upon sight.

    War:
    As nearby villages expand, troubles may arise between the two of them. Villages with similar fields of trade would have a very small possibility of going to war but villages of opposing trade (I.E. Farming and Mining) would have a much higher chance of going to war. If two sides are going to war and you find yourself in the right place at the right time, you can choose to commit to one village and lead an offensive with a few other guards on another village. If you win, you would be rewarded greatly (Diamonds, gold, iron, priority in the village i.e. reduced prices...) If you lose, not only will you die and lose your items, you will also be exiled from the village you fought for and will be attacked on sight if you try to return.

    Wheeew... Just my thoughts.

    tl;dr Villages have a lot of potential for some pretty unique AI in the future and can offer a whole new gameplay aspect to Minecraft. Structure toggling would get a customizable approach (Toggle villages, strongholds, nether strongholds, ravines...) to allow you to toggle each feature seperately.
    High hopes, I know, but these are just my thoughts about the future of villages.
