    The food is either scarce, or non-existent, because I couldn't find any before I stopped regenerating health and dying. Usually, at the start of a map, the player gets a tiny bit of food. I think that you did a great job limiting mob spawning, though. It's really hard to balance that, and you did pretty well.

    My first mini-map: Catalyst has been released and it is in open beta. Here is a copy/paste, although there is more at the official page:

    SUPER CALM CAVERNS I



    This Mini-Map is a unique style of a Mini-Map that is extremely

    progressive. Catalyst has almost no spawners, and is designed

    to starve the player of any resource, however when you find a

    chest it is packed full of loot. Simplistic Mini-Map. Scheduled

    for many, many more updates.


    Minecraft Version: 1.7.X

    Objective: 3 Wool + 1 Gem Block

    Difficulty: 4/10 - Easy

    Status: Open Beta

    Style: Mini-Map Hub

    UPDATE #2 - 5/28/14

    Whew, lots has been done since the last update. I've been busy with a few things IRL. Anyways lets get straight to the point. Catalyst, which is the first Mini-Map, has began construction. I think that I will complete what I have started in Catalyst so that I can get a map out there and feel a small sense of completion. Catalyst is pretty simple and has only four objectives, it should be complete within 3 weeks. I haven't been making any progress on BioHazard since 5/24/14 because I have been playing some Vanilla Survival. At the end of the week I will pick up where I left off at in Catalyst. After Catalyst is complete: Work on BioHazard will be back on its way to completion. On the forums I made some adjustments to the page now we have several new things on the page:


    - Legal Info - Lots and lots of research
    - Two banners to copy into your signature
    - List of contents - Figured it out by me self :)

    Anyways, thats about it for now.

    Personally, my first map is 5/16 complete, so around 234% complete. I'm a math genius by the way.

    UPDATE #1

    Intersection 2 is halfway complete! I have created the general landscape and environment. Details and loot are still in progress! I still need to finish the Light Blue Area (LBA). LBA will definitely downsized, overall its about 15x15 chunks. That is about 57,500 blocks... way too big!

    For me, I started with a plain old Survival World. After a few days I got myself a full, good set of diamond gear. Than after I felt that I achieved something great, I ended up using commands and giving myself everything I needed. After I did lots and lots in the world I ended up deleting it and starting over with a fresh world. Same thing happened with every Survival world I made. I myself am not a big fan of Creative mode unless your testing stuff out. At the time, I didn't enjoy making mega builds only possible in Creative, without any purpose other than to look good. Then of course I found out about Adventure, Challenge, and CTM maps. During the first play through of one of the first Full-Sized CTM maps, I got to thinking that CTM maps must be fun to make. So I tried my hand at map making and I am still going at it. My main source of inspiration is that I play through other peoples maps and evolving ideas that I see there and using them in my map. (I lost my train of thought several times, I hope this maps sense)

    TL;DR - Play others maps and decide whether map making is something you really want to do. If it is, get a source of inspiration, like watching LPs of others maps, or playing through other maps!

    They are great, but in areas like that, I tend to give more gear and good to recover. But its hard-earned loot
