My-my-my-my-MINECRAFT!

I installed the pre-release of 1.8 yesterday, but too busy exploring the land to really actually play it normally like I usually do. When I'd find something neat or interesting, seems like a creeper, skeleton or zombie (which I think they're more agressive now) would kill me. During those times, I never saw Enderman.

I updated to 1.8 today. Played the game normally, no extra-curricular hiking and found a cave to explore. Right away I found a typical dungeon with lots of goodies. A few feet away in the other direction was a familiar sight. Another cave shaft that looked very deep. Skeletons were to the left, couldn't make their way across or they'd fall. Put a torch and saw more skeletons and a creeper. Got the skeletons, now for the creeper.

Was hitting him with the sword, since I could sorta reach him. He walked forward and fell down the shaft. Somehow so did I. I saw how far I had fallen, so I quickly put up a torch, just in time for creeper to explode. So I come back to that area, jumped down again since surprisingly it didn't kill me.. (dunno why) Got my stuff and started working on an upwards staircase...

With all that said, I finally get midway up and look over to see this across the cave shaft..



FINALLY got to see the fella.. I did have my cross-hair on him and he disappeared a few times to only reappear in the same spot. I'm sure he's waiting for me to cross over so he can start my gruesome death.

Found this poor creature stuck at the end of an underground stream/fall. Anymore blocks over and he'd be nomnom for the resident zombies and creepers.

I think the above quoted post has some serious thought to it. It does make sense, why post a widely spread video trailer of it and then the next day in just a tweet message say that it might be delayed?

A simple Fishing Pier attached to a Pier House. The pier is 7 blocks above sea level.

Found 4 or 5 blocks of gold going down below the waterfall. I'm more interested in the iron and if there's any diamond. Making a smart choice though, I'm heading back before I get to the bottom, to store my gold. On my way up, a cow has entered the cave shaft...

I used the seed for this map and loaded it in a new save game. Luckily my spawn was mere feet away from the shaft opening. This is how it looked before a couple Creeper explosions later..




After that lowest block that's covered with snow is a long drop. I guess my initial reaction to falling onto that block or the block above it was that I tried to move back, which only made matters worse. Hmm, don't remember seeing that iron there before. I've noticed after saves or what not, the resources kinda appear random after a while or so every once in a while?

Wandering around a snowy hill, seeing one block depth of stone.... a second later falling down a 6x6 deep, VERY deep vertical cave shaft to my death. :sad.gif:

This cave is a nightmare. I went down it, didn't go down further where I took the picture, there's a side area that I found. I've been killed by a skeleton about twice... Killed by a creeper who just HAPPENED to be there about twice because it sent me into lava.. yes.. there's lava down there.. LOTS of it.. Fell into lava about twice on my own mistake.. almost got lost in the side area, it's a decent size network of caves. Found my way back, went back up because I was losing supplies doing this. I reach land and.. Ssssssss.. BOOM! I start falling.. respawn.. Hurry back and hope the supplies scattered about haven't been lost.. luckily I got them back. Came back to my shelter and saved the game....

I might stay in my shelter house for a long time now...

Though I did see one block of and one block of but I think I had the wrong axe for it. :sad.gif:

it is to the North West of my spawn point.. you cross the ice and get on a snowy hill.. it's a very small hole, so don't go wandering around like I did. lol

Wow, look at all the replies! As for luck, the first time no. I stumbled across it, fell to my death.. Respawned and went back to get what I had dropped.. Dug halfway down and fell again but lived to tell the story and get my stuff back.

I know there's probably deeper cave shafts, just wanted to show mine. I found this by accident exploring a snowy hill. Fell a LONG time... Respawned, went back to get my stuff, dug my way half down and fell through (yeah that's why they say don't dig straight down..) the rest of the way but got lucky with just one heart left.

Again, I say..... Ow.

Interesting terrain to the northeast of my spawn and first shelter/home.
