The Pyromancer sounds more like a type of Illager. However, it's basic role could be given to a new Golem.
The Balista's inability to be crafted and behavior would make more sense if it wasn't a standalone vehicle, but a weapon placed on a Ravager, which would be a logical platform for them, and would avoid any issues related to wheels.

you are likely right in that regard about wheels... wheels shouldnt exist in minecraft.

yeah maybe the pyromancer does sound like an illager but honestly let's not make villagers any more defenseless than they are

That doesn't solve the problem of defenceless villagers. (I don't count Iron Golems as they're slow to respond and very limited.)

iron golems also get killed overtime by mobs and skeletons and swarms.

At least they should be able to regenerate health over time.

I would rather have the villagers defend themselves. Give them crossbows, or better yet, early guns.

    Tool smith - Axes

    Mason - Throws rocks

    Priest - throws potions

    Nitwit - punches

    Armorer - Throws iron.

    Butcher - Iron axes.

    Cartographer - coordinates attacks

posted a message on The Pyromage and The Ballista

Hi guys. 2 mob ideas and concepts. The Pyromage and The Ballista.

The 1.14 update for minecraft has brought with it a nice variety of new mobs and crossbows etc etc as well as a new sense of gameplay and life to villages. The new raids make the game really fun and exciting and it has given the game a new reason to play it. It is cool to have to go against other crossbow villagers, and ravagers and other illagers and yet it becomes more rewarding when the village you have built gets saved by you.

However... Sometimes an iron golem and a player is not enough to stop a zombie horde invasion.

Think: The iron golem has 100 HP. Zombies deal 6 HP of damage. Iron golem takes on 10 zombies + 4 skeletons which deal 5 HP damage.

Which is why i feel there need to be 2 New mobs added for the 1.14 update.

    The Pyromage

Lives in a watch tower, looks out of his hole often to monitor the villagers below and if anything poses a threat to the villager then a barrage of fireballs will turn that threat into dust.

    HP: 20

    Attack range: 16 blocks.

Attack damage: 5 Hearts for initial burst and 5 hearts burning damage.

    Size: Same as villager

The Pyromage is a neutral mob that spawns in villages that have a watch tower or (a profession block maybe a... idk, some block with fire?)

The pyromage will attack anything that tries to hurt villagers or come near the village. It can even shoot at phantoms.

The pyromage fires a large burst of fire. When the pyromage aims, it will take into account the speed and direction too to essentially "lead" the target.

The fire does not break the environment but it simply causes a small fire that lasts for 1 second and turns off.

The Pyromage is dressed in a dark blue with red robe. Pyromage has lighter brown skin than the common villager and has black eyes.

When it is night, the pyromage rushes to the top of his guard tower outpost and waits.

Enough said now discussion below to clarify idea...

*Gee, Imagine a raid with evokers and illagers against a village armed with iron golems and pyromages. Balanced and intense. Iron golems get overwhelmed too easily so having a pyromage as some sort of ranged support for the village would be neat Considering that not only pillagers enter the village but they bring in zombies too.*

    and now...

    The ballista

Wooden contraption on wheels, driven by a pillager and aimed by another pillager.. Has a giant crossbow but it doesn't shoot arrows... It shoots explosive bolts.

    HP: 9

    Attack range: 10 Blocks.

Attack damage: 15 HP and Griefs 1 or 3 blocks due to explosive force (Reload time: 5 seconds)

    Size: 2 x 3 blocks.

The Ballista is a vehicle controlled by Pillagers that can take part in raids.

When the ballista fires. It shoots a really fast bolt that can deal big damage as well as destroy blocks. The ballista can be used in raids where a village is surrounded by walls.

The ballista can sometimes aim at villagers hiding inside of houses too.

When the Ballista dies. It drops some firecharge, gun powder, string and wooden planks. It cannot be crafted by the player.

*Just spice things up a little*

You could say the same thing about a lot of bad suggestions involving ridiculous items... If you don't want cars in Minecraft, then don't craft it!

What that point fails to mention is the fact that other players could use that ridiculous item to get ahead of other players, especially on multiplayer servers.

I usually don't have more than a few dogs, so this would be kind of useless. Even if I had plenty of dogs, I could simply sit a bunch down and walk a short distance (like a few blocks) and the dogs that aren't sitting will follow me, while the sitting dogs won't follow me. In this sense, the dog whistle would be really useless. You never even gave us a crafting recipe or a durability on it.

    No support.

I have 60 dogs following me... what do i do with all of em?

Considering skeletons cause knock back every time they hit you they are powerful, and they have the potential to knock you off a cliff or send you into a ravine. I don't think it would be fair to buff them to the point where they could essentially one shot you early game.

If a skeleton runs at 3-5 Blocks per second. A wolf should realistically walk or run at a speed of 13 blocks per second. REALISTICALLY...

    Well then don't craft it!

It may be useful for people who have many dogs but that doesn't make it useless.

Add an item that causes every tamed wolf to sit or follow you on your command.

    Have it craftable using iron...

The benefit is that it will make your 30 dogs following you sit. So when u explore dangerous lands they wont die

Shouldn't they buff skeleton instead of the wolf because the wolf's behavior essentially makes skeleton less of a threat in tundra/taiga/wherever biome a wolf spawn? No Support

That wouldn't make sense. It'd only make it harder for the player gameplay and less realistic. Skeletons are already really powerful. wolves should chase down skeletons because they are made of bones and they better be fast at it.

It seems that skeletons run at the same speed as wolves and wolves being 4 legged creatures need to have a speed boost to increase their efficiency

Also let's not forget you'd be forced to do this in real life, because of carbon monoxide poisoning.

I like it, great chimney design.

I'd show you a toilet design I made on one of my earlier worlds. Would add a bit of realism to a house, pub or some other building where you'd be likely to find a toilet/restroom. The second image has umbrellas on a beach made using iron bars, carpets and banners.

I like to experiment in creative mode to see what can be done in my other worlds which are survival based.

Maybe add a poop bar too just like the food bar
