I almost never dispose of anything, I have dedicated rooms for keeping different types of block and items in my base, never know when i may need it for any build projects.

The biggest thing for me is the increased performance and honey blocks. honey blocks alone make bees much more useful because of all the new possibilities with redstone. Honey bottles and the other new blocks are a nice addition too.

they haven’t announced everything in 1.16 yet. Also, 1.14 was horrible performance wise. If it takes a few months to improve that, then so be it. A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad, like the old saying goes.

there are other things you can do in the mean time anyways. Try out some mods, theres some pretty good ones out there. Alot of them have feature bloat and power creep, which i feel you’d be a fan of.

    The Swamp is basically desolate.

The mountains should be left alone I reckon, they serve their purpose, but the swamp is lackluster and gets little love, the witch huts are cool to find, but I'm hoping we can see some more love given to the Swamp biome.

    Mods are different.

Mojang want to be very careful with the things they implement, they want to take things step by step so they can ensure that everyone will be satisfied.

What I mean by that is this; Mod creators don't have a massive responsibility, they also don't have over 100 million active players on their mod, Minecraft does, and everything they change is going to affect those 100 million+ people. So they need to be strategic.

You put it perfectly, the mojang vs modders thing gets old and tiresome.

i’m voting for swamps though, saw the mountain features, eh. They’re all good but i’d rather have swamps updated first.

It is entirely possible to make mods in another language that the game is not programmed in. Take a look at http://wiki.sourcepython.com/ for the Source engine (written mostly in C++).

You would need to be able to run the python compiler within Java. That is no small feat, but is entirely possible.

Honestly its too much of a bother, modding is already difficult to learn as it is.

1.15 is mostly going to be focused on fixing bugs and performance, I don't expect too many huge features, i have a strong feeling they'll use 1.15 as polishing and preparation for 1.16, which will probably be the long awaited cave update. The bees are an unexpected but nice addition, they're way too huge though... obese, even. The best thing about them is the honey you can get from them- restores saturation and gets rid of poisoning. It would be cool if they added more bug mobs, like the bee to fit in with the theme of the update. Maybe they'll add the termites from last years biome vote since it would go along with the bees, since savannah was second place in the vote.

On the topic of the biome vote, I'm pretty dead set on voting for swamp for this years one. Swamps are somewhat bland and no one seems to like traversing or building in them on my server, it seems. I already like badlands as it is, and its already a rare biome, so it can wait. I like the tumble weeds and vultures though. I'm not sure what they're adding for mountains yet, so I might change my mind if they announce good features.

I really like the 1.14 update. Its one of my favorite updates (if we ignore the bad server performance). I respectfully disagree with mysticolives, I love all the new village and pillage editions. The raids were really fun, on my server we built a desert city for the villages and did at least 20 raids while we still lived there. The only thing bad thing i have to say about raids is that they devalued totems of undying so much, I have more than i could possibly ever need. I like the concept of illagers, I hope they expand more on them in future updates, they're a pretty interesting group of mobs. With 1.14, its cool that they've become sort of a secondary antagonist in the minecraft universe, next to the ender dragon (and maybe the wither, but the player spawns the wither, so i'm not sure). Its a 9/10 update to me, would probably be a 10/10 if the overall performance wasn't so much worse than 1.13.

I'm pretty set on voting for swamps, but they have yet to reveal the mountain features. I'm probably going to stick with swamps though, they're kinda bland as right now. I wish they'd add cat tails though.

I've only ever modded with java, and i'm 99% sure that you can't use python for java edition modding. its probably not possible in forge's modding environment.
