Quote from Ignitemulti»How many of you are girls? It's nice to see a change of people and personality for once.
You are making a major error, one of the reasons that I (among many others) remain "stealthed": Specifically, you see people as Dave, Kevin, Pete, and "girls". But we're not some kind of monolithic group. We're just as different as the boys you know. (What, you don't like being called boys? If you can refer to me as a child, what's wrong with me doing the same to you?) We're people. We're gamers who happen to be female, and we're just as different from each other as guys are. I say again: we're just people.
Are the averages different? Maybe. But averages can only tell you something about a group, but nothing about individuals. For example, on the average men are taller than women. But I'm taller than a number of men I know. I'm a bit above average, they're a bit below average. So much for averages. When you have two overlapping bell curves for any aspect of human personality, you'll find that most people are in the area where the two overlap.
If you knew me in a game, and going by averages and stereotypes, you wouldn't know I'm female unless I told you (and I wouldn't tell you). I'm no more "nice" than you are. (possibly less) I'm a geek. I talk about cars too much. What I am is a person. I'm me, an individual, not an instance of class 'female', just like you're an individual, not an instance of class 'male'. If you want something that defines me, that would be gamer -- not "girl".
Now if you'll excuse me, I have my regular name to get back to. I've been on this forum for a long time. You probably know me. You just think you know what I am, as well as who. And you're wrong.
