You're going to get the same answer no matter what you tell us, OP. And it's not because we're pro-education people who are miserable and not fun at all, as you're probably thinking. It's because we're right. You can keep talking about how video games makes you happy and you'd rather play them all day than be useful and contributing to society, but there's going to be a day where your parents will have enough of your laziness and kick you out. What will you do then? Keep playing video games and being happy while you find another person to freeload off of? You're being unbelievably selfish if you're happy relying on other people to take care of you. This isn't even about you anymore, you've already shown that you're probably going to be using your loved ones and friends to feed you and give you shelter. It's about them, and how they're going to have to waste time and money on you because you refuse to work and do anything other than sit in front of a screen all day. What kind of person are you if you don't care at all about their perspective, having to take you in and feed you even though you'd be a full grown adult by then? Have some empathy, for god's sake.

Honestly, I know I've been preaching the whole "help OP out" thing for most of this thread, but if you can't even imagine being in the shoes of your parents, having a freeloading child in their home for most of their adult life who plays video games all day, you're a lost cause. Nothing's going to convince you to stop because you've given excuses for literally EVERY piece of advice told to you on this thread. I'm beginning to question why you even posted this in the first place, because it's pretty clear that you came in knowing that you'd never find a reason to change your lifestyle.

As a final note to this thread and the direction it took off in, I'm a bit disappointed that you (OP) still aren't convinced to drop your bad habits and start working hard in school, despite all the advice and help you've gotten. However, I'm going to tell you, if you don't get your head out of your ass soon, you WILL be a nobody in a few years. Don't think it isn't true, it is. You need to learn something in these years, doesn't even have to be something academic. You don't need to get absolutely straight A's in every subject of every year, but you need to be eager to LEARN something that you can go into a career with. Going into trades has been a successful career path for many, MANY people in the world. But, you need to learn how to do something, how to contribute to society, because right now, with your addiction to video games and motivation to do nothing in school, you will end up with just that. Nothing.

And since I'm pretty much done with this thread anyway, I'll be honest with my reply to your last post: Prioritizing something over another thing that's more important, because it's more "instantly rewarding", is horse butts. You're living in the moment, not taking ONE THOUGHT to your future. Those instant rewards you get from video games? You'll be paying back those rewards in a few years because you'll be unemployed and uneducated. Your hobbies are there to waste your time, but that's a good thing because yes, they do reward you with fun and happiness. However, MODERATION is the key to keeping your hobbies from wasting all of your time and preventing you from learning how to be a useful member of society.

Again, if you've read this far and you still don't see why you should stop your addiction to video games and learn something in school, there's nothing else that can be done. You're going to have to smarten up eventually.

[quote]I dont wanna do the homework or study because I could be playing video games instead.

If you keep up what you're doing, playing video games instead of anything productive like school work, you will be either freeloading off your parents for most of your life, or you'll be homeless by the time you're out of high school. No matter what people tell you, you absolutely NEED the things you're learning in school, because they're a foundation to build upon. No one has ever gotten through life by dropping out of school, not wanting to learn anything and playing video games all day. Yes, there are definitely people who have found success despite dropping out of high school, but that's because they not only had excessive knowledge of the business they're running, but they did not need the courses that were offered in the years they dropped out of because they pretty much could build upon their business without those courses.

Long story short, playing video games instead of doing your homework will start a chain of events that goes something like this: Your grades start to drop in school, and you might fail or pass this year. Either way, you'll eventually get to a point where you'll be staying behind several grades of what you should be in because you choose to not learn anything or do your homework. You'll lose motivation to put in ANY effort at all, and you'll probably make the decision to drop out of school prematurely. Guess what? You're now living with your parents, unemployed, you don't have a high school diploma and you don't even know how to do a lot of things in the real world because a lot of the foundations of those things are taught in school. If you try to get a job, you'll constantly be overlooked for another candidate because let's be honest, even if you were applying for a minimum wage job, would your employer rather take the freeloader who never graduated high school and doesn't know how to do 6th grade math problems, or pretty much every other candidate who is either currently enrolled in secondary, post-secondary education or graduated altogether?

I know you still have the mindset that video games are a much bigger priority in your life than school. But think about your future if you keep this up. What would you rather have, a constant utopia of video games without a worry in the world but in return, you'll be an absolute nobody in less than 10 years? Or a bit of misery here and there in return for at LEAST a chance of being successful in the world (and hey, you'll probably find time to fit in a few hours of gaming every week)? Do you really want to work a minimum wage job, flipping burgers or something like that for the rest of your life, or freeloading off your parents and struggling to get a career that has decent pay, all because you would rather play video games than do your homework? If you can't even solve middle or high school problems in math, or have the writing of a middle schooler, what makes you think that people would want to hire you?

If thinking about the long term consequences of your current lifestyle doesn't give you the motivation to just go and do that work you've been putting off, then I don't know what will.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH I mean, I am 13, I do all my work and hand it in on time, even when we have to do 9 pieces of homework for 1 week, I play games dont get me wrong. but you look like a complete nerdy idiot...I mean YOU JUST SAID THAT YOU HAVE HAD THE BEST SUMMER BECAUSE YOU SAT INSIDE ALL DAY PLAYING VIDEO GAMES? IM SORRY TO BE FRANK BUT GET YOUR LAZY ASS OFF OF THIS CHAIR AND GET TO WORK! PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE TAKING MY PARENTS TAXES RIGHT HERE!

Jesus, I cannot believe how stupid people can be, SOMETIMES I ACTUALLY WOULD RATHER TO DO HOMEWORK INSTEAD OF GAMES!

Honestly, you are being a much more immature person right now. OP is trying to get help to fix this problem of his, and although he's still not convinced about the importance of staying consistent in school, at least he recognizes that it's a problem. Calling him an idiot and comparing him to yourself is something only idiots themselves do. Believe it or not, not every single person in the education system has that motivation or drive to get through school, and video games are certainly a factor in many of those cases. At least OP is trying to find a reason to pull him through this stage of his life. I'd suggest you just shut up if you're not going to offer help or advice. All you've managed to do with your post is prove that you have no humility and no empathy, which are two qualities I'd MUCH rather see in a person than intelligence.

posted a message on Is the Youtube Community in the comments corrupt and full of trolls?
YouTube is one of the most used and popular websites in the entire world. As a result, among the millions/billions of users who frequent it, a very large amount of them are bottom-feeders, idiots, and scrubs who don't know how much of a scumbag they're being when they make negative and hateful comments over a video they've watched. They can never be eradicated, and whatever others say to try to stop them goes in one ear, and out the other. The least Google can do to minimize these comments from being seen is implementing a spam/report option that actually works, but they don't give a damn about what their users want so it's highly unlikely we'll see that..

    No more discrimination.

Even today, people of different races, sexualities and beliefs are discriminated against in all nations. Some as minor as associating stereotypes, others as severe as hate crimes and even warfare. Just wait until the Reapers come to cleanse the universe of all living organisms, and we'll see how much the skin colour of a person really matters to what side we take...

posted a message on TF2 VS Cod Series?
TF2. Used to play CoD all the time but got bored of it after MW3. IMO it's a generic military run & gun, which clearly many people enjoy but I myself am no longer a fan of those kinds of games. I also agree that it's a repackaging every year. The only essential differences between Modern Warfare 1-3 and Black Ops 1 were guns, some perks, selection of maps and time era. Same core gameplay of running around shooting each other, which is not always a bad thing but to not call it repetitive is ridiculous.

Not going to comment on the communities, though, because I've seen my fair share of douchers and potty-mouth prepubescents in both games.

How did you find us?: Searched the survival servers forum and found the server on the first page.
Why do you like our server?: It doesn't overindulge on the plugins & mods. Just enough to enhance the gameplay, but not so many that it completely ruins the experience for anyone not interested in factions or any of those plugins.
Any suggestions based upon your first impressions?: Apparently the server is still in 1.4.2 for me, so I didn't have a chance to try it out, but from what I can see this is a great server and I have no suggestions, except maybe adopting the "Golden Shovel Anti-Grief" system I've seen on a few servers.
Have you read our rules?: Yes
What command should be used if you need a mod, would like to report griefing, or suggest something?: /modreq
Anything else we should know about you?:
