MC Username: Normerra How long have you been playing Minecraft: Since Alpha, before the Halloween update (1.1.0, I believe). About you: Usually, I'm more of a loner and dislike working in a group. That, strangely enough, applies only to my real life, since I do enjoy multiplayer and cooperation games (and not only Minecraft SMP). I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but I can hold that back. People seem to have problems with the fact I'm a realist (only they call it pessimism) and that I often say something's not going to work out - and then it usually doesn't. I play fair and don't break set rules - in Minecraft terms, I don't do PvP, stealing nor griefing, regularly not even if it's allowed. Favorite MC Activity: Building and collecting resources for it. Anything else you might want to tell us: I've never been on a role-play server, now I'd like to try it. But I did play some DnD before even discovering Minecraft, so I get the general idea. And oh yes - English isn't my native language, therefore I may make some mistakes. Have you ever been banned and why: Never. As said before, I don't break set rules.
Trivia for the beginning: It's a long time since I've actually been on a server - hence why I'm looking for a new one. But it seems as though I'm not able to find one fitting my criteria(criterias? What a word..). My general idea is a small server with nice community, quite vanilla sounding, eh? But then again, let's be honest. Aren't we all a bit bored by those stereotypical, "normal" worlds that are all the same? Well, if you're not, hang onto that, it's only a plus for you. But I am. It's good having some plugins installed. For safety.
Getting to the ideas: Recently, I've seen this amazing mod by Risugami - it's named BioSpheres, I believe - and after trying it out, I thought: "That would be amazing as a server map, each player has their own sphere, and oh wow, those caves are literally filled with monsters! One could help another out and.." shenanigans like that (yeah, I live in hope there actually will be a server where people help each other. Silly, right?). What's the problem? Well, let's just say that if I'd try to host a server, my computer would probably explode.
And to the actual ideas (finally): So, basically, you'd spawn in one "main sphere" or "spawn sphere" or another, more witty-sounding name. Noone would live there, it'd be just the spawn area with the rules and some trees around to help you for the start (remember - there are no trees in tundra, Nether or desert whatsoever). Then, you could wander around, looking for an empty BioSphere of your liking. As the server would grow and more people would get whitelisted, more spheres would get inhabited and surely, people would open shops, trading stations, even spleef arenas or anything like that - but they'd be only allowed to in their sphere. That could be annoying a bit (having to cross several bridges to buy some food), but IMHO, it's nice to know someone for what they do. The map itself would, of course, be generated in SSP and then put in the server. I don't think the mod works in SMP. (Well that's a question; can it actually be done? >.>)
Plugins?: Sure. I was thinking that Bukkit wouldn't hurt, and Lockette or anything like that would just improve the safety of the gameplay. GriefAlert or BigBrother would add to that as well, because I'm quite sure nobody likes their house griefed.
So, for the end: If anyone would take this idea and formed it into an actual server, I'd love to join it - and some other people would too, I believe! And if anyone else, who has any ideas and thinks they'd go well with this, just post 'em, I'm not saying this whole post is awesome. It surely can be perfected and I think this sort of idea has a lot of potential. Seriously, how often do you see an original server?
By the way - if I actually find out I was a dumb biatch all the time and that this idea can't be done in SMP, well.. how about creating a Skylands server? Haven't seen one around a long time and again, I'd just love to join it, or anything of those sorts.

Do you want hostile mobs? - Maybe. It was said before that they sorta take the "relaxation" out, but on the other hand, one gets used to it easily. I saw some servers which had "safe zones" for building aso. and "wilderness" (or whatever it's spelled) where hostile mobs are, and it sounds good for this one too..
Do you want PVP? - Not at all, stealing and raiding is enough.
Do you want Auto Heal? - If there are hostile mobs - no, that's way too easy.
Alright, well..I hate to do this (but as you can see, I'm doing it anyway), but here we go. Y'all probably know what I'm talking about - I'm gonna take a break from all this. A LONG break. I wish I could tell more, (but honestly, who cares about details of my life) but I'll have to simplify it like this - it's been a few weeks since I started this thread. I guess I thought at first: "Oh yea, this'll be fun and relaxing, I wouldn't get much requests anyway, let's do it!" (oh, how bloody wrong I was :biggrin.gif:) and then (after some days) - whoa, several requests in one day. Well..it'll sound fairly stupid, but: I have a life, too. And I realized I couldn't go on like this - not when I'm already busy with other things. Thanks for the requests made so far, I really appreciated all of them. About those I didn't make..I'm really sorry. But you know what, there sure are other a lot more talented skinners than me. And again, honestly, this thread is gonna die by time.

Sure :biggrin.gif: Well, I don't actually draw the nose in my skins and I think it'll look better without it. Then - don't be afraid of using those extra head textures for the goatee. And mouth is fairly easy to do - darken the skin color of your skin a little bit and draw it above the goatee.. ask more if you need :smile.gif:
