Until you apply 186 mods to your , I'm really not that impressed.

Anyway, by bloat I mean I can't think of any reason for certain mods like Pam's HarvestCraft and Better Than Wolves to be incompatible with one another for any reason other than one uses Forge and one doesn't.

Now, I have to really compliment the guys who wrote FML on Forge. FML is great, and maybe they can add in some of Forge's super-core functionalities like item/block ids to FML to create something of a Forge Lite that offers greater compatibility at the cost of potentially requiring a bit more jar editing.

Well then, thanks for ignoring all of our advice then.

Knowing people like you you're going to go out and buy an Alienware or Cyberpower.
    1) You didn't give any advice, so save your butthurt.

    2) I didn't ask for advice about building my own computer or which OS to run on it. I asked 2 very specific questions about video cards and hardware manufacturers.

    3) Blow your superiority complex out your ass. I have very good reasons to not build my own computer right now, and I also have very good reasons to not run any iteration of Windows on this box. Take the idea that I'm at all similar to "people like [me]" because I came to a logical conclusion about what I want my machine to be, and go back to Bizzaro world with it.

In any case, I have my answers. Don't bother trolling the out of this thread like ^that guy because I'm done posting here.

The only thing I agree with is idea that it's on the mod developers to be compatible with the Forge API. I've seen enough snobby comments about that on the Forge forums, and Forge really is an incredibly invasive mod in and of itself It also seems that, from a programming quality standpoint, Forge has some serious code-quality issues if they're forcing other mod-makers to update just becuase they update their own files. If you are making an API, then you want to minimize the amount of work you put on other people.

Okay.. Yet again I wiped my laptop of everything Minecraft. Then I downloaded Minecraft. Then I deleted META-INF. Then I downloaded Risugami's ModLoader. Then I installed Risugami's ModLoader by copying all of the files into my minecraft.jar bin. Then I downloaded better than wolves. Then I copied all files (except readme.txt) from the BTW folded into my minecraft.jar bin. Then I opened minecraft. Then I made a world named 'Better than Wolves' with the seed 'Better than Wolves'. Then I chopped three wood. Then I made 12 Wooden planks. Then I made a crafting table. Then I made 8 sticks. Then I placed my sticks and planks in the arrangement shown in the OP for a gear. Then I came back here and tried my best not to rage about how this mod, yet again, doesn't work for me. I'm pretty sure that it's going to end up being my fault, I just can't see how. I don't have ANY mods installed, other than the two mentioned here. I've seen some people saying to show the modloader.txt or something. I have no such file. Is it something else? Does it have a different name or file type? I'd like to get to the bottom of this...

Funny you single out readme.txt. You should read it. You don't put *everything* in minecraft.jar.

I have SPC installed anyway, why should I install your mod? Because it is bascially the same as /i pumpkin. Four dirt blocks more or less? Meh.

Jeez, what is wrong with you people. Who freaking cares if some other mod does "basically the same" thing? This is the guy's first mod, and he put it up here because it's a mod.

Is there a way I can fix that?

It's a simple ID conflict. Go to your .minecraft folder, find a file named wkBookmod.props, find "CopyTableID=136" and replace 136 with some other number between 111 and 255 that isn't a block ID used by one of your other mods.

Well i don't have notepad..... I think i can use textedit or pages.....

EDIT: I'm using notepad but it won't open it either.....

Cmd-Click the file -> Open With... -> Other -> find and select TextEdit. Notepad is the Windows plain text editor, TextEdit is the OSX one. If someone tells you to open a file with one, but you use the other OS, then just use the other. Don't use some program called "Notepad" that works on OSX, because it could very well be something else entirely.

-Can't you make it work with BTW mod?

    than it'll be extremely cool.

Since not much mod can be used with BTW mod [I have no idea but bear mod works with it, but Toomany or Single command doesn't]

With the newest version, it will work. You just need to change the block IDs. Here's my mod mix:

    Mods loaded: 19
    ModLoader 1.0.0
    mod_FCcore Minecraft 1.0.0
    mod_FCwireless Minecraft 1.0.0
    mod_FCtransport Minecraft 1.0.0
    mod_FCmachines Minecraft 1.0.0
    mod_FClogic Minecraft 1.0.0
    mod_ModLoaderMp 1.0.0
    mod_FCBetterThanWolves 3.30
    mod_FinderCompassForOptifine 1.0.0
    mod_Floodgate 1.0.0
    mod_InvTweaks 1.33 (1.0.0)
    mod_JourneyMap 1.0.0
    mod_LightSensor 1.0.0
    mod_Arrows303 1.0.0 AS
    mod_ASGrapplingHook 1.0.0 AS
    mod_Rope 1.0.0 AS
    mod_Shelf 1.0.0
    mod_NerfGriefingMobs RemoveMobs 1.1
    mod_wkBookmod 1.9 for MC 1.0

I've got the configuration files making all these mods work together in a zip, ready to go. Just need to find a place to host it.

EDIT: Here. Links to 4Shared. Move the contents of the Configuration folder right into your .minecraft directory. If you don't install Ropes+, then you don't need the BTWConfig.txt file (Ropes+ doesn't have a config file). If you don't use wurstkniftes Bookmod, then you don't need the wkBookmod.props file.

Also note, if you use both BTW and Ropes+ using this setup, you'll probably need to edit the BTWConfig.txt file every time FlowerChild adds another block ID in his mod, or your world will go nuts.

It refers to your graphics card's control panel, NOT Windows' display settings. For nvidia cards, this is simply called "NVIDIA Control Panel". I don't know about Intel or AMD cards.

I think it's pretty amazing how you think this guy is talking about Windows' display settings... since he doesn't have a Windows machine. Also, I would like to note the absurdity in a modder for a game suggesting that you reconfigure your graphics card to use the mod.

Seriously, Optifine MT is making my Buildcraft pipes look like mushrooms. I've heard other errors where people have said it looks like their dirt is on fire. It shouldn't be marked as "cutting edge," it should be marked as "in development, crazy @&%$ might happen."
