    There is this really good rule of thumb for avoiding slimes. Its called, "Don't be an idiot."

    Its quite simple. Carry a sword with you, and since you plan on having a safe room, just put a food source in it.

    The thing is, Infiniminer was out of production by the time Minecraft came out, Minecraft is still thriving and growing as all of the clones are coming out. They're different contexts. And Fortresscraft doesn't have anything that really distinguishes it from Minecraft. I'm fine with games being blocky builders, but if they follow the formula nearly exactly (like Fortresscraft is seeming to do) it just seems stupid.

    I don't think this is a completely bad idea. I like the idea of creating a soldier to attack things for you. However, fire is unstable, and the construction method is too unwieldy to be useful. Perhaps what you could do is make it made out of netherrack, then have it animated if it is lit on fire, but would not light other things up and if it was hit X amount of times (2 or 3) it would turn off. Then in massive amounts it could take down skeletons and creepers and zombies, but 1v1 it doesn't stand a chance.

    Homunculus is not a name from any anime. It is a word. It essentially means a golem. It is ridiculous to assume a word originated in an anime.

    The only issue is with the lack of visibility underwater it would be really difficult to dodge mobs underwater. Maybe if there were goggles or scuba gear this would be practical, but currently navigation underwater is already difficult.
