    POSSIBLE BREAKTHROUGH GUYS!
    If you place a redstone torch on top of a fence, the fence can be moved without causing the redstone torch to break.

    Edit: Okay, that's weird. It stays at that coordinate no matter where the fence moves.
    Edit 2: It looks like it can't be touched by the head of the piston or it'll break. It will move if you move it with the back, like the designs of the sky barge thing.
    Edit 3: As long as it's not touched by the head of the piston, it won't break.
    Edit 4: It will move from fence to fence without breaking, it will also move from fence to block without breaking. It can move from fence to block to block without breaking. Looks like it can't sit on air though.

    An idea I recently had for a forum competition:

    How badly/epically can you distort a logic gate? Basically, the idea is to prove yourself most distraught redstoner in Minecraft by taking a simple logic gate (AND, OR, NOT, XOR kind of things) and turning it into some incredibly mind-boggling contraption that is both hilarious and incredibly frustrating to operate. An OR gate is supposed to be a torch on the back of a block? Psh, how about a TNT canon that launches a block of TNT at the power source.

    At the end of say, 3 days from now, I'll announce the winner(s). (Unless no one submits anything >.>)

    To submit, simply post some screenshots and a description of how it (barely) works.

    If you don't have the idea by now, here's an example:

    This AND gate design uses pistons and sand and crap and blah blah blah.

    The two inputs are here.


    When this lever is pulled, the blocks in front of the two inputs are raised, powering two pistons.


    The two pistons push blocks of sand into this pit thing in such a way where the sand are broken down by the two torches on the sides and land in their respective streams. The streams then carry the blocks onto pressure plates which are hooked up to two IMPLIES gates and blah blah you get the concept from here.


    The only rule is: You can't use the gate being replicated in any way.

    So, if you're interested, go ahead and post your mockery of a circuit =)

    LOLOLOLOLOLOL That's so much simpler than what I was trying, it's hilarious. I was building a system that 'checks' if a piston would or wouldn't be able to expand by detecting which blocks are able to be lifted. Basically, pistons below the blocks raised them, sending a redstone signal through it using repeaters, and I hooked those signals up to a series of IMPLIES gates detecting if a block was unable to be raised and there is a block ahead of it that can be raised, signaling that it must be an immovable block. xP Would've taken forever and a half. Thanks.

    Yeah, but not just reaching the limit of 12 in specific. I want it to be able to detect when it's jammed by obsidian, for example. Though, I doubt that's possible.

    Can anyone help me create a circuit that is able to detect when a pistone is unable to expand? I was able to think of a simple design with a wood pressure plate and sand, however, it detects when a piston *can* expand and must be manually reset.

    • Worked on the wiring to the vanishing pool to decrease lag.
    • Started working on a sort of strobe light/seizure house thing. Later going to 1) finish structure 2) finish moving floor thing 3) add flashing glowstone on the ceiling.
    • Planning to expand on rail system later.

    I tried that once. It would take an INCREDIBLE amount of repeaters (and patience) to pull it off. You're better off with a clock. (I know, that's no fun.)

    Unless someone could find a way to make a compact clock circuit with an amazingly long delay time. But you'd probably have to utilize a glitch or bug to pull it off.

    -I failed the retard test ;_; So that blew up a large portion of the spawn... Don't worry though, fixed everything and replaced the retard test with a lever that activates CLUB BEATS!
    -Made my disappearing pool thing. Took a while to figure out, but it came out pretty nice.

    Some other time I want to add a rave room :laugh.gif: and a redstone powered game of Connect 4 =D
