Alright, I tried using a modified version of the 256x256 LB Photorealism pack, and the wildgrass textures are still in sixteen bit. This is a problem, because the wildgrass textures in LB Photorealism are ****ing magical. Additionally, before 1.5, I could use the hoe once on a block and it would destroy the grass entirely without having to do it several times, and would also occasionally drop a bunch of seeds. Why have these things changed? Is the modloader version I'm using now different from the client version in regards to gameplay? I liked the other one better.
Build a gigantic obsidian pillar at the spawn point. They can either spend an hour chipping away at the pillar, or fall off and die and be right back where they started.
I think that the extremely small maggots should spawn rarely, but when they do, they should spawn in huge swarms, and be able to climb on top of each other. That would be horrifying.
I've just been editing terrain.jpg as a whole in photoshop. I have not merged anything. I have like fifty layers so far. It is extremely inconvenient, but it works for me because I am a disorganized person.
paint.NET works just fine for me... The only problems I have had with transparency have been saving a file at the wrong bit depth (save your texture packs with a bit depth of 32, folks. 24 doesn't give transparency at all, like a jpeg. 8 (or is it 16? can't remember right now) gives transparency but not partial transparency, and not as many colors, like a .gif)
I have no idea what bit depth is, but I seem to be doing alright.
Okay, here's what I think should happen:
*Make lakes much larger, large enough that you can only see water on far render distance and still be nowhere near the center
*Lakes should be much less common, given their increased size
*The diving suit thing
*No larger boats, I feel that would just be dumb
*Waves would be cool I guess, but I don't think they'd be that great honestly
*Seaweed. This is essential.
*Octopi and stuff, octopi and squid should release clouds of "ink" (just smoke) when attacked, and then swim away
*Light blocking from water should be greatly reduced, and the underwater fog distance should be increased
*The underwater fog color should be changed to :Zombie:, but viewed from above the water surface it should remain blue
*Rivers
*If possible, the map depth should be increased to 256 or 512 meters.
*Lake depth should be at least doubled
While I was taking these shots, I realised that the ladders on the side unfortunately allow you access to the roof, letting you bypass the flaming obsidian door. I may have to replace them with more terrible Minecraft advice.
Just destroy the top ladder segments.
Also, with the addition of lightning, the house will sometimes explode from lightning. And I feel like it should use glowstone somewhere where it would have to be destroyed on a regular basis, like behind the obsidian door.
Same for me.. 1.5 was fine, except for rain falling thru my glass ceilings, but I would gladly accept that to have the game running nice.. 1.5_1 and yeah, froze whenever i put something down or smashed a block.. took off the texture pack (HD 256) and it runs, but it's very hard to play, coz im so used to nice custom graphics :wink.gif:
So, I tried to re-do it, with the custom lava off.. It worked, (thanks) I can place and smash blocks, and rain doesnt fall thru the glass, but, it's VERY laggy.. even tho it's a 256 texture pack, it was running sweet prior the 1.5_1 update, plus i like the HD lava.. yeah i cant complain coz the game is crashing coz of the texture pack but.. waaaaaaaaaa!

No, I meant that it uses the wood texture

Yeah, same with fences and half-blocks.

Actually, the OP does say to back up your saves.

Then it would be raining like half the time. Maybe +.5% or .25%?

Yeah, I'm also having that lag problem.
