Today, i have re-visited the forums for the first time since a quite long time.
Sadly, i had to notice that the forums have lost any of those aspects that made them a nice place until about half a year ago.
Interesting discussions are almost impossible to find inbetween the tons of spam and crap, and if they even exist, they get torpedoed by idiots.
I simply don't have a reason to browse the forums anymore.
I might visit sometimes, but those will be short-term sneak-ins, mostly to check if things have changed or to post something i have notified or built (Soon, i will open a thread about a fortress on which i have worked during the last four months).
Well, i'm going to take a break from the forums for a while.
The reason?
I'm bored.
There rarely is something new.
Every day the same "i am scared" topics.
Every day the same stupid suggestions.
Every day the same flamewars about a tiny detail.
Or a troll.
Or something that seems like a troll.
Or someone who mentioned the word 'troll'.
Or which browser someone is using.
Or how much money Notch is making.
Or the weather.
However, there still sure are good and interesting discussions going on, but it's a pain finding them.
Also, don't get me wrong.
I still play minecraft all the time, and i follow it's development like a dog follows a steak on a string.
You can also PM me, it might take a while, but i will answer.
I guess that's caused by the torch, since torches, mushrooms, flowers and other non-blocky tiles have such "artefacts" on some systems.
Nothing to worry about, though.
Every Astragon game
(German game producer, they fart out a game about every week, the one buggier than the other, yet they sell heaps of them)
Oh, also, Phun 5.xx
Besides from some buggy tools, there were appearently no bugs fixed, the performance issues still not fixed, but they had the time to rape the whole thing with a new gui.
I'll stay with my 4.22.
I strongly dislike the instant-random-death ideas.
Seriously, how could it be possibly fun to get killed by a random lighting?
Or being freezed for hours in a blizzard?
I think that you have to re-balance some of your ideas.
There are better threads about natural occurencies.
Hours? I think you are mistaken, for one thing, these things are rare, due to their sheer destructive power in some cases. And being frozen for hours is idiotic, I don't understand why anybody would say that. More like minutes. Or MC hours.
Even minutes would be too many.
As catmando stated, if there happens such a natural disaster, i want to have a chance to conquer it, to try to get myself out of the situation and possibly even use it to my advantage. Then this would be lots of fun.
Just seeing it happen without any chance to escape would be boring and frustrating.

Good luck, minecraft forum, and goodbye.

Nah.
But changing the image when hovering would be a nice thing.

No, as a kid, i encountered a hairy, big spider running around in the puddle inside my sandbox.
Oh, the nightmares.

Actually, they can WALK on water.
But i am going off-topic.
On a topic which serves something old.
Err, yes. There are chickens. Duh.

Yeah, but if it's a chest cart, you'd have to refill it afterwards.

I don't understand the hate against cobblestone. It looks nice to me.
Oh, if i want extra-beautiful buildings, i make the corners out of tree trunks.
