I don't know why you people are putting up such **** arguments over something that had no reason to be removed.
Its just a damn hotkey. We shouldn't have to ''lolol notch broek somthin on dis 20 dollar gaem, time to coff up 700 bukz for a new computr'' because of some creator's paranoia about cheating, when people use TMI, Xray, and cheat texture packs.

It's just so inconvenient now.
Thanks for disappointing me for the first time ever, Mojang.

Now they remove it again? What a joke. I can only hope they reintroduce it once more in the inevitable 1.8.X.

I don't hate Notch at all. I don't know where you're getting this idea. I think Notch has done a pretty awesome job so far. However, removing a harmless feature that helped many users (as demonstrated by the 50% of the people in this thread who agree with me) was a bad idea. Sorry.
I would think that this forum, as Minecraft fans, would want the game to be enjoyed by as many people as possible, including those who tapped F to keep frame lag at bay. It's a feature that is 100% optional if you dont' want to use it, and helpful to those who do. That's why the arguments againts its reintegration are laughable at best.

What part of "instant fix" do you not understand? Going into the menus every few seconds is NOT a solution. I don't get it when people try to pass it off as one.

Acting like a king and/or princess? Are you joking? The toggle fog key was a perfectly valid (and instant) solution to framerate dips on low-end computers. He removed it for no reason. I am not pleased.
How is this in any way unreasonable?

Except I wasn't asking for a solution. I was complaining because Notch removed the solution needlessly.

FPS lag is not the same as connection lag. When I lag, it's only on my end since it's a framerate dip, not anything to do with my connection.
I completely agree. And if Notch was adding something, like content, that rised the system requirements, I'd have no choice but to accept it. However, removing an existing function that helped lower end PCs run the game better isn't exactly the same. Especially when he does this for no obvious reason.

I don't play PC games enough to justify it. I don't particularly like PC gaming. Minecraft is all I play (well, and Terraria but it's been months). I dont' have $500 to drop, and I certainly wouldn't drop it on a PC if I had it.
I trully cannot believe people are mentioning this as a solution.

Do you really not understand what I'm saying? Tapping the key was an instant (albeit temporary) fix. Having to go into the options menu and stopping the game every so often to toggle the fog back down is just extremely tedious and irritating.
I don't see how removing an option for players can be looked upon so... lightly. Lots of players use the F key, and now we can't. How can you possibly defend this decision? It was there for those who needed it, and no one was ever forced to use it.
And now it's gone completely for whatever reason.

No it's not. It's the way the world loads. As more chunks pop in, the slower my PC (and other low-end PCs) run. Tapping the F key resets how many chunks have loaded visuallly, and thus reduces lag. This is a fact.
