    Just a little thought that occurred to me. Why not have bushes? I'm not too keen of the only plant life being crops, flowers, and trees. So I say, add one thing to the randomgen: just random piles of leaves in certain biomes. In dense jungles they would have to be cut through to advance, in forests you might see them, and they would be a fine addition to the game.

    By breaking the leaves of the bush, you would get a "leaves" item, not saplings. You can place leaves and get leaf blocks.

    Well, beavers not only build lodges, they build dams to make their water deeper.

    Also, make a variant: LAVA BEAVER >:biggrin.gif:

    lives on surface lava lakes. Solitary. When disturbed, it throws gravity-affected little globs of lava. It will come out of its nest to prey on mobs. Day and night. They'll walk up to a zombie and freakin' EAT IT. They would have a crapload of HP (but its attacks are relatively weak, save for the fire), plus it recharges. So they're really more of a geographical annoyance, and they really aren't worth killing (they drop iron).

    fun stuff.

    I can totally see people going under the sea to gather this stuff. Anglers will be only one of your worries, though.

    That wiki has a lot of false info right after an update. I need physical proof or no cigar.

    Only Mojang Staff can edit Minecraft Wiki, so why it ill be fake?

    except that's not true and I have updated it several times.

    gah, I am so frustrated by cortex command. I can tell it has a good concept, but it's just so poorly designed. You can only have 1 offensive unit at a time, the soldiers you order trample their own weapons into destruction, and the terrain can hardly be walked upon because every other second they fall into quicksand and can't get out. Moreso, the AIs never open their doors to attack you and just continue to have sex with eachother in a vague attempt to move.

    ...pleeeease tell me I'm doing it wrong...I really want to see what it's like when I do it right...

    Didn't we just go over this?

    1. switch to dummy
    2. order drop crate containing a light soldier with a heavy sniper rifle and an uber cannon
    3. Kill the people out front
    4. Approach bunker
    5. The remaining forces do nothing but strangely grind against eachother
    6. Shoot door with uber cannon 23 times, doing no damage, and suddenly I hit the LOWER half and it instantly is destroyed
    7. Continue to fire uber cannon into the base until one of the explosives hit me, making me drop my gun (what?), which apparently makes the survivors spring into action and AK my ass while I trample my own gun underfoot attempting to pick it up
    8. order another sniper/uber soldier
    9. See that the enemies are all dead somehow
    10. snipe brain
    11. WINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWIN

    after seeing this, I try a brain vs. brain mission against an AI.

    1. Set all my troops
    2. Place brain
    3. WINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWINWIN
    4. wat

    I bought this instantly (mainly for mechanarium).

    I was really only looking forward to bain, mech, and cortex command. But I haven't downloaded Bain yet, and Cortex command seems really badly designed, although the premise looks good enough. I've tried at least 5 times to beat the tutorial level. If you get yourself a rocket full of re-enforcements, they are stupid and just wait to die. It takes forever to have them all actually go and FIND the weapons I got for them. Plus, it's really dumb how weapons keep getting squashed under my troop's feet, and how I make ruts in the sand by standing on it...

    I'm really not getting this aren't I? I AM the same person who thought clay was stone when I first started minecraft, and that monsters would try and destroy my base.

    how about this
    you gain exp for acheving these condisions
    1/2 heart cold damage=1 cold resist exp
    1/2 heart droun damage=1 breath exp
    1/2 heart burn damage=1 heat resist exp
    1 minute in open sea(cannot see land with render on tiny)=1 boating exp
    10 items mined=1 mining exp
    10 hostel bare kills=1 damage exp
    10 hurtfull falls=1 fall exp
    100 exp=lvl up

    the gains
    cold resist=longer time in between damage
    breath=longer time befor 1 bubble is poped(on breath meter)
    heat resist(affects both fire and lava)=less damage taken/longer time in between damage
    boating=max speed/better turning/better durabilaty(only affect boats placed after lvl up)
    mining= less time on 1 item
    damage=more damage delt
    fall=less damage taken from falls

    -1/2 heart for less damage
    +1/2 heart for more damage
    +1/2 second for longer time
    -1/2 second for less time
    eg.
    mining level 1
    oblivion=15sec.
    mining level 2
    oblivion=14.5sec.

    no. That's just blatant skilling.

    MINECRAFT IS NOT AN RPG!

    You don't have levels or experience. You have better tools... If there would be leveling system, you should remove different types of tools, 'cuz it'd be totally useless...

    BTW, use search button... I know that you think that you've invented something "super-great-no-one-can-ruin-it", but for god sake, just use that bar on top right with "search" written on it!

    Well in all my 500 posts I NEVER though of that :ohmy.gif:

    well there are 21 posts for "adaptations", most of them from here, and "skills exp alternatives" is too vague, so I'm pretty sure that this is the first thread to feature this specific proposition.

    And, this feature wouldn't turn it into an RPG. Many non-RPGS have elements like this.

    Am I pretty much the only one who doesn't like this idea? It boils down to what,

    -creating an alternate dimension nether-style
    -sometimes there are ghosts
    -when killed you respawn on your bed

    and if you can't bring any blocks with you back from the dream to IRL, then I see no point other than pointless surreal entertainment (which I normally enjoy; yume nikki still haunts me). I would be fine with this if it didn't amass so much stuff for a little addition that would stop being fun pretty fast.

    You got it wrong then. One, it's still the real world, you just can't affect the area like you used to. You are placed in a random area in the landscape so you can explore and gives you a goal when you wake up to find that very epic place you've found. Ghosts mean you doing more running than exploring. Second, you die when a ghost kill you. You really had a large bump in the head did'ya? It seems you didn't read the whole idea.

    Well I had a hunch that was what you meant but I was put off by bad wording, or my own incompetence. Either way the idea doesn't seem much better to me. So, 6 items (two of them unrelated) for one mechanic of exploring. I'd prefer telescopes...
