If I'm informed correctly, villagers doing the "Tame" chore don't need any items to actually tame them. You know, the difference between the "Hunt" and "Tame" chore is that one makes them bring back meat and stuff (the usual drops of the animals) and the other brings the animals back alive.
About the horses... As far as I know, they only bring back animals you can actually use for farming (like cows, sheep and pigs).
One of my kids just leveld it's taming and the message I got was "Hannah has reached level 5 hunting. They now bring back a few more animals when taming without using more resources."
So it looks like they do need materials to tame animals.
They haven't brought back a wolf or a cat yet, which is what I am testing now.

Apr 7, 2012If I am understanding the post correctly, a dog heals over time if incapacitated. I believe the dog took a great deal of falling damage at one point, and is still at the bottom of a pit which I cannot get down. Is there a way to get the dog to teleport to me?Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Apr 6, 2012A few updates ago, I saw a crate mod which allowed you to trap animals into crates for easy transport. Though I've not seen a mod like this for a long while now, I was wondering if there was one that I've just over looked.Posted in: Requests / Ideas For Mods
Apr 6, 2012Aha! Problem fixed! Thanks much.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Apr 6, 2012I can't get the dogs to sit either, they just refuse to do anything but wander.Actually if I wander away from my dogs at all and come back, I can't get them to do anything, I can't even bring up the menu for them.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Apr 6, 2012Is there a way to get the dogs off of wandering mode? (Already tried using the arrow on them again.)Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Also, I can't get the collar shears to work.
Dec 28, 2011This isn't really a HUGE issue, because it's easily fixed in game, but with the TreeCapitator Mod, when I cut the trees down and wait on the leaves to drop. They originally drop something that appears to be squid ink, though when I hover over it in my inventory they turn into cocoa beans.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Is anyone else getting the issue?
Also great work, this makes things so much easier. ^-^

Alright, i've seen this asked a few times, and i've found no answer. does the patcher wipe any and all mods from your minecraft? i have one mod and i dont want my mc black-screening because if i force update i get "Fatal Error (4): Connection Reset"
It's been overwriting my mods, I was told to try and install Modloader first - but by doing it that way my mods get uninstalled when the patcher runs. But if I don't do it that way I get the grey texture on my grass. So there is a conflict somewhere, it would really depend on what mod you're trying to run I suppose.Quote from ichinose87
I'm sure this is a really dumb nooby question but here goes. When I run the patcher it makes a new .jar file. If I want to install mods, which .jar am I supposed to put them in? the original or the one made by the patcher?
Just the plain minecraft.jar
Nov 26, 2011As already stated above, I have the same issue with the grass being grey on the sides. I installed Modloader prior to adding in the mods, and prior to patching - but I am still getting the error. Making the above solution well, not really a solution. Are there any other ideas on the error?Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Nov 26, 2011Has anyone figured out a fix for the grey sides on grass blocks? I think it's a modloader conflict with MCPatcher, but I am not certain as of yet.Posted in: Resource Packs
Nov 24, 2011Just went through installing everything again, apparently it's ModLoader causing the grey issue. Is ModLoader out for 1.0.0 or are the other sites on google just advertising it as 1.0.0 and it's really not?Posted in: Resource Packs
EDIT: I found Risu's thread sorry about this.

Update to latest McPatcher (and if you use it: ModLoader) version and patch again. What other mods do you use?
Both versions are the new versions of ModLoader and MCPatcher. The only mods I am using currently are the Shelf, Armorstand, AudioMod, ReiMinimap, Randomobs, and SpawnerGUI.

I think, Minecraft looks ugly without BetterGrass, but of course you can unpatch only this particular mod. Simply remove the check mark in the check box and hit “Patch” again.
And trust me, it looks uglier with the grey sides on the grass.
Nov 23, 2011Hey I read over a few of the pages but didn't see the issue I was getting, also tried the search feature - but nothing came up or wasn't worded in a sense I would search for it. (Otherwise, sorry if it's already been said / asked I did look.)Posted in: Resource Packs
When I run MCPatcher it -works- mostly. Aside from the issue that the sides of grass blocks turn grey. (In Ovo's Rustic v1.5 and the Default Minecraft texture.) Is this a common error, or am I the only one experiencing it? And is there a way to fix it? (If unpatching it is the only way to fix it - is it possible to only unpatch Better Grass?)
