you need to update it to 1.8 its dumb without the new version

Calling the mod dumb probably won't help it update faster. It may even take slower

Mod makers love to troll people like that. :P

This is a spoiler. It's most often used to shorten things that otherwise might take a ridiculously huge amount of space and make people's eyes glaze over and turn them into semi-zombies as they mindlessly scroll down. It works wonders on crash reports and whatnot
There is a big, orange button with a ! mark, on the bar with the fonts and all that. Press that to get a spoiler tag.
"On a completely random note, how come we can't hire ents?
I mean, the evil faction has a giant powerhouse unit, so why can't the good faction have one?"
Because Ents tend to dislike both sides and it would be against lore to have an ent unit hirer.

Also, when has Sauron, called the Deceiver, mind you, ever played fair?
I really hate these forums- You click edit and it messes up the quote! Sorry about that.

I take offense to the fact that people hate the movies, I love Tolkien's works and if I could, I would re-edit the movies to make them like the books. I do prefer the books, but acting and music took me. I have tried to convince movie fans to read the book. I also enjoyed the back story of Azog and the Necromancer. In my head cannon I would use both, there is no right or wrong way to imagine the books. I do not hate Tolkien or Jackson,

I'm sorry, but to take offense at someone's opinion is generally a bad idea. Wars have been started for less... (No, really- For the most petty of things, like killing a horse. :P)
As for Azog, if you remember the book, you should know that the movies have failed with him...

I in no way hate P.Jackson. Just his 'hobbit' films.
His adaption of the Lord of the Rings, however, is one of the most enjoyable things I have seen- They are the reason I read the books. (That and my cousin.)

As for what's cannon and what's to be added in the mod, Mavens wont listen to either of us. It is his mod, so he can do what ever he wants with it. I just would like to see an accurate portrayal of Tolkien's works for once- Sure the other games are fun, but they ruin one thing or another.
This mod has yet to do so, and I hope it never will.

I take offense to that, I have read the books and I don't see much conflict between them! (the movies and books) If you're going to be hater, be hater! But I think the movies are the best way to get people to read the books. It is still canon, just not Tolkien's canon, for example that would be like saying that all movies based on books are unreliable to canon. Also the mod uses all the textures from the movies. Also if goblins are considered related to orcs in the movies, and are the same creatures in the books, the only difference is that the movie considers them more distantly related rather then being the same species. Either way, the movies never said that were distant and not the same species, the guide book said so, so blame Jude Fisher and her sources!

First off, do you even you what you are talking about? Tolkien's books and Peter Jackson's movies are extremely deferent.
Secondly, do you take offense of J.R.R.Tolkien's own WORDS? If y'do, then leave now.
Thirdly, while this mod does uses textures from the movie (Which, btw, are shown as they are described in the book), it is based purely on TOLKIEN.
As extra food for thought, here is Christopher Tolkien's words about P.J.'s movies:

"Tolkien has become a monster, devoured by his own popularity and absorbed into the absurdity of our time. The chasm between the beauty and seriousness of the work, and what it has become, has overwhelmed me. The commercialization has reduced the aesthetic and philosophical impact of the creation to nothing. There is only one solution for me: to turn my head away. They eviscerated the book by making it an action movie for young people aged 15 to 25, and it seems that The Hobbit will be the same kind of film."

Just so we are clear, Christopher Tolkien is J.R.R.Tokien's son and was pretty much his editor. He wrote much of the Silmarillion. He also drew the maps for his father.

Hmmm? And who's to say I didn't know that?

    I was being sarcastic, too.

    And pointing out your contradictories...

    I love this Mod

I just have a few requests,

If it is possible it would be great if you could add:

    Rivendell Biome

    Dunharrow Biome

Leave now and never return! Leave now and never return! LEAVE NOW AND NEVER RETURN.
Till you've read the FAQ, of course-and Understand it. You can come back then.

Shouldn't the Uruk-Hai banner be "the white hand", Saruman's symbol?
I love the mod, though and I can't wait for the Questing system...
But other staffs would be cool, eg. Radagast's staff: Grows plants
and what if you could ride the Rhosgobel Rabbits?

The Uruk-Hai in the mod right now are somewhat of a rouge faction. So their banner is like-wise. As for Saruman's White hand, that will be added in with him. (In the Fare future)

As for Rhosgobel Rabbits, I hope to God that they'll never be added in.

The Staffs of the Five Wizards are most likely not going to be added in for a while.

    Hi Miners!

I love TLOTR, and i love this mod! (sorry for my english i'm brazilian)

you can add Dragon race on mod? as Smaug from the Hobbit and Nazgul Dragons.
hobbits staffs (gives 2 damage, durability of wood, can be created on workbench, or exchanged with Hobbits Traders)
    Radagast staff and vehicle?
    sauron armor?
Sauron boss in mordor(need positive alignment)(like ender dragon in the end, drops parts of sauron armor or sauron mace)
    the oakenshield of thorin
    eagles?

please reply me! I can made textures for new itens if you want. :)

    Dabf----4126

    I might as well...

"you can add Dragon race on mod?" Read the FAQ. And they are not a race, they are monsters.
"Smaug from the Hobbit and Nazgul Dragons." Smaug will most likely never be added, as he is dead by the time this mod takes place. The "Nazgul dragons" are not dragons, they are bat-like creatures only called Fell Beasts.
"hobbits staffs (gives 2 damage, durability of wood, can be created on workbench, or exchanged with Hobbits Traders)" This is a good idea... I like it. :D
"Radagast staff and vehicle?" For his sleigh, hopefully never. Radagast never rode on a sled driven by rabbits- In fact he is not in the Hobbit at all! He rides a horse. As for his staff, that will most likely be added in in the future. (After Quests and Tasks.)
"sauron armor?" Most likely never, as it is too big for a human.
Sauron boss in mordor(need positive alignment)(like ender dragon in the end, drops parts of sauron armor or sauron mace) Sauron is already in the mod, though unfinished. He will be a boss, though that will be at the end of a quest or some-such thing. I think.
"the oakenshield of thorin" Thorin's oakenshield was most likely burned for fuel...As for Thorin, he is dead, too.

"eagles?" Plese, please read the FAQ, found here: http://lotrminecraftmod.wikispaces.com/FAQ

As for anymore questions about asking for things t be added in, here is the answer quoted from the FAQ:
"Every main character, region, structure, and so on, from LOTR is planned to be added in the future. But - surprise surprise - there is a plan for the mod, and these things will come later on, along with the quest system, when the work on more basic features such as biomes, blocks and items, and NPCs is mostly completed. Asking for your favorite character to be added will not make them be added faster. It might well even have the opposite effect."
