UltimateBrownie, I've got nothing against the POIH or you. I'm guessing the RMM doesn't either. Like I said, I no longer am in the RMM. I no longer represent the RMM in any way. I just like the RMM, and I like myself even more, so when Gilguy sidles in here to attack the integrity of the clan and--god forbid--me... Well, I just have to speak up.

I'm sure Princeps only quoted those posts to demonstrate what a terrible leader Gilguy was.

And Spahss Mahreen, psychic high-five, for being a badass.

Thank you, Shadowdusk, for your endorsement. Our disagreement is a thing long past. And thank you, PrincepsRegulus, for your testimonial of pirate fear. And subsequent triumph over said fear.

This clan is changing for the better. I'll take you off enemies, and see how you guys evolve.

Alright, **** that statement about enemies no longer needing to fear verbal abuse. That **** was a RUSE. A DISTACTION EVEN.

Taking a cue from PrincepsRegulus, I am no longer in the RMM. But I still have something to say around here.

Gilguy, you cowardly piece of ****. One public thing has changed about the RMM since you last tarnished this thread. That one thing was, obviously, me leaving. You like that. You think you're safely away from my scorn. "No longer will LuciferZ read my posts, and want to find me simply to spit on my face," you think. But as usual, you are wrong.

Don't try to ******** Ten_tacles with your reason of "Haven't heard of much griefing lately." I know, he knows, everyone knows that the RMM has never griefed another clan. Even people like Dark would agree with that. He knows the true story between the RMM and the early Circle of Magi, even if he probably doesn't like to talk about it. There hasn't been any change in the number of griefing accusations since you added us to your dreaded 'enemies' list. There were 0, there are 0, and there will always be 0 incidents of the RMM griefing.

So why don't you say what's really on your mind, Gilguy? Even Tomandreen with his single digit IQ, at least has the balls to say what he thinks. (Tomandreen, you may be the forum idiot, but your little contribution now was somehow endearing.)

Closing note: "I'll take you off enemies, and see how you guys evolve," says the pigeon to the human. I'll bet Major General iPope was biting his nails over the RMM being on that list. The entire enlisted ranks were all shaking in their boots at the thought of pirates raiding our private servers.

    Alrighty, announcement time.

Today, I am announcing my resignation from the Royal Minecraft Militia. As of this post, I release all rank and privilege associated with my role as Major General. The decision to resign was made at the beginning of the new year, and a few members of High Command and the officer ranks were informed of its coming. I decided to remain long enough to help stabilize the clan and see it out of a rather difficult period we ran into in December.

All of the tasks and jobs under my responsibility have been handled, completed, righted and/or delegated. My work done, I can now leave the clan without a guilty conscience or a sense of incompleteness. I leave the fate of the clan to Major General iPope, and the Colonels, Majors, and Captains that have contributed so much to this fine military.

All of these men, from our founding Major General to the freshly promoted Captain of First Battalion, are capable leaders who I trust to keep this clan going as strong as ever. Perhaps even stronger, without my bureaucratic self trying to oversee everything.

As for the personal motives behind my departure, it comes down to time. As I start the spring semester of classes in my third year of college, I find that my focus is more on minecraft than on education. Actually, I found that out last year, but didn't care at the time. Now I need to focus, and that means going cold turkey. I must admit, this is made easier by decreased interest in the actual GAME, I spend more time on the forums and TS than in game because I'm minecraft'd out. Doing my part for the clan is what has kept me around!

I hope to leave with good feelings on both sides. I have enjoyed my time with the RMM, and I hope you have enjoyed working alongside me. I will be on the TS for the remainder of the week (as a civilian) in case there are any questions I need to answer or issues I need to address. Past that, you'll have to contact me via e-mail. Perhaps in a month or so, I'll visit and say hello to my former comrades. This clan had better still be here!

This is probably the worst of my mega-posts, so to summarize: I am leaving! School and life needs my attention! Members, look at all the promotion opportunity! Enemies, you no longer need fear my verbal abuse when you post in this thread! It has been fun, I'll be in touch! Long live the RMM!

PrincepsRegulus, I find it odd that you don't have time for minecraft or clans or internet, but you do have time to make snide comments about your former clan. It makes me a little bit sad inside.

Anyways, the "weird system" that iPope based the ranks on is known as the Royal Marines of the British Military ranking system. Lance Corporal is the lowest enlisted rank. When I added the Recruit rank, we started to look more like the British Army. Their starting rank is Private, then Lance Corporal, then Corporal, then Sergeant. Imagine Recruit to be our equivalent of Private.

Actually, since you mention the etymology, theicychameleon: It's an interesting fact that Lance Corporal as a rank is always below Corporal as I've seen, in British militaries, the Australian army, and the USMC. Perhaps their lances aren't broken yet?

All that aside, I have a pretty big announcement to make later today, but since it will require my customary wall of text and I have only ten minutes at the moment... I'll just wait until I get back from campus.

I'm afraid your history is pitifully wrong, Gilguy. Shadowdusk was a member of the RMM. He griefed OUR server, and left immediately afterward to start the Circle of Magi. It's completely impossible for us to have griefed them in any form, since they did not have a server of their own for an extremely long time. Their first server came long after the fires had cooled. Our past arguments with the CoM has always been limited to forum posts.

Gilguy, I can sit here and tell you how you are wrong for a while longer, but at some point I need to do other things. Can you please include all your remaining assumptions, questions, and accusations in your next post? I think it would be much more efficient than having to address them one at a time. And then you'll be free to sulk in private all you want. I just don't want to have to do this again in a week when you've found another post to nitpick.

A quote from an example of hypothetical warfare? That is your evidence of us

    doing much griefing

in reality? Are you saying that we really did wage war on you, and that we came on your server and embarrassed you with total annihilation? I'm not sure how a fictional story is proof of past griefing. Somehow, I don't think anyone will see that as holding much merit.

I note that your clan raids, pillages, and razes. That sounds a lot more like griefing than a military clan doing what it has to in order to win a war.

I encourage you to submit such a superfluous report. I think it will be quite clear to any moderator that this is not a griefing clan.

As for your question as to why we would fight, I never said we would. I think you missed the word "hypothetical."

Don't worry, Gilguy, you don't sound rude. However, you do sound ignorant.

Let's say that the RMM and the Pirates of the Infinite Horizon go to war with each other, not for sport, but because we really dislike each other.

In this hypothetical war, neither of us is going to be willing to admit defeat. We would both rather keep fighting than surrender. At least, while things are going our way. But lets say we're fighting on your server. For a while, you put up a good fight, keep us back, keep us from damaging your bases. But at some point, we overwhelm a base. Steal your supplies, blow it to bits, and move to the next before your men can get back from the respawn area. We blow that one up too. We surround the spawn, and just kill everyone as they appear in a never-ending barrage of arrows.

Obviously, that's no fun for you guys. So you have three options. One, keep fighting, as your members get sick off it and drop from the clan, and your clan withers to nothing. Two, admit defeat, because you no longer have the will to fight. Three, ban every RMM member from your server, knowing full well that you lost, and us knowing full well that we won.

That is the only way such a war would end. Total defeat, surrender, or cowardice. And it would be my goal (And your goal) to force the other clan into one of those options.

Which we do by making the game no longer fun for the enemy. By ruining their enjoyment. Sound familiar? It's how griefing is defined.

Now, if you would like to tell me how immoral that is, go ahead. Just don't expect any props from me.

The Royal Minecraft Militia will certainly agree to an alliance, Spehss Mahreen. Though the Warriors of Chaos server a very different cause, I believe that you and your men are equally honorable, and I see no reason why we shouldn't get along. I look forward to our future cooperation, and any friendly competition too.

Thanks for the heads-up, Valerius, on the discussion going on in the CoM thread. I probably never would have noticed it if you hadn't posted in our thread. Getting all of the confusion out of the way will hopefully spare us a lot of bad PR.

You got my attention with your Minecraft Art of War, and you've earned my respect with your character. Our clans are very similar, and while some might see that as a call to competition, I'd prefer to see it as a cause for cooperation. On behalf of the RMM, I would like to request an alliance with Orsa Novus Aevum.

Also, I'd like to say to people not to hate the RMM so much, it's not the clan itself but more of the leaders.

By plural of "leader" I assumed you meant myself and iPope. Apologies for the extrapolation.

As for your reference to the whole 'Bumping' incident, that was not a case of me talking trash behind your back by motive of a personal grudge. That was me telling you and Gilguy not to presume any authority over members of my clan. If I came into this thread and ordered you to stop talking about the RMM, I would expect a similar reaction from you and other council members.

And lastly, I'm not trying to subtly order you to do anything. I'm merely offering a reasonable/logical way to handle our differences. I assume that if you agree with my logic, you'll choose that option. That's the foundation of any discussion.
