Regular swords were forged, not casted. If all swords were casted, they wouldn't be very sharp.

Bronze age swords were cast in bronze, you can't really forge bronze. (well you can, but it's a real pain because bronze is on the brittle side)

But it is true, swords are generally forged. Though that has little to do with being sharp.

Kazekai, I've been meaning to ask my guy to do Forestry bee's and natura plants for us, if we do it before you find a file or do it yourself I'll gladly share the parts of it that involve bee's it with you.

Also, woops, I put this post in the wrong thread earlier today >.<. Sorry about bumping the old thread (I've asked a moderator to delete my post). Here's what I had posted.

found an interesting bug, dunno if it's unknown or not

If dirt spawns underground flowers from wheeee flowers will spawn on the dirt. (I think I've also spotted light grass, so possibly all of your plant adding mods do this)

It's not really a big deal at all, but I figured it's worth letting you know.

could you give please give us the power to change such items in the configs.

If you're asking to be able to control the amount of heat various blocks give out, you actually can do that in the configs. (a couple of posts back I posted how to add and configure blocks for someone else, that might help?). The wiki has more in depth information for the different configurable properties.

I think only torches start fires right now, but I have that turned off so I wouldn't know if other light sources can start fires or not. It definitely would be interesting if the ability to individually configure whether something starts fires or not were added though.

Quote from KsterTheSlayer jumpHow do you make things have ambient heat? Im trying tfc with the fire pit and its not working :( . Can some one help plz?

One way to do it is to with an open hand push Shift-J while looking at the block you want to edit. You'll know it worked cause the chat will spit something out like "tile_blah_blah(blah:blah:blah:5) Saved in MyCustom.cfg.file." (if it doesn't spit that out check your keybindings to make sure J isn't being shared by another mod)

After you do that go into the game menu and click on "Mod Options"; find EnviroMine on the list and click on the "Config" button.

Next click on the button the says "Custom Configs" and scroll down until you find "MyCustom.cfg"

I'm assuming the firepit will count as a block but it might be something else. Click on "blocks" and then find the fire pit (its name will look like what the chat spat out earlier) Click on it.

Look down to where it says "enable temperature" and set it to True. Then move down to Temperature and set it to what you want the firepits ambient temperature to be in Celsius. (I'd probably set something like a fire pit in the range of 36-50)

After you're all done push Shift+K to reload your game (it'll give you a message to confirm it reloaded), or close the game and re-open it. Your fire pit should then have an ambient temperature.

I hope this helps, I'm not familiar with the mod you're using so there may be more to it than that. Looking at the wiki it seems to have different temperature states so that might complicate things.

Hey guys, my Craftguide is not displaying everything, for example metallurgy mod furnaces are not shown, other mods some ores are not shown too, what could be the problem? v1.7.10!

From my understanding this may actually be the mods in question rather than craftguide. I asked about this a long time ago because mekanism stuff doesn't show up either (other than the ore), and Uristqwerty told me it's likely caused by how recipes are implemented in mekanism.

I may be wrong here but i think Stability needs to be 'none' to ignore physics?

I don't WANT it to ignore physics, I want it to be able to stick to ceilings.

Do I need to create a new stability type or something to be able to hang a block from the ceiling? No matter what I try with the configs I can't get a block to stick to the ceiling. This is what I currently have.

    tile_restonelamp {
    S:01.Name=minecraft:redstone_lamp
    I:02.MetaID=-1
    S:03.DropName=
    I:04.DropMetaID=-1
    I:05.DropNumber=-1
    B:"06.Enable Temperature"=true
    D:07.Temperature=22.0
    D:"08.Air Quality"=1.0
    D:09.Sanity=0.0
    S:10.Stability=strong
    B:11.Slides=false
    B:"12.Slides When Wet"=false

    }

I guess it would be more accurate to say that sometimes it'll stick intermittently, but I think that's because I'm going back and forth between creative and survival mode while messing with things, since sometimes even when the block should fall (there's nothing but air holding it) it and everything else stops having physics.

At the moment, they are just listed in the filter item tooltip, though that might be broken at the moment. Needs a better UI, eventually.

Ahh, that must be why I can remember being able to see alternate ingredients from playing in 1.6! I think the tooltip is broken, I'm running minecraft 1.7.10 if that helps any once you can get back into it.

Since you have it open source I'll see if I can get my guy to poke at it sometime, he's been tweaking several of the open source mods we play with.

I really appreciate the help thankyou :)

For now I just plan to change the lamps physics so that they can be hung from the ceiling. Right now if I try they just fall down immediately and that's kind of sad.

As far as the sweating, I've had plenty of minor heatstrokes, but they've always been because my hydration got too low. I don't think I've ever stayed near a heat source long enough to literally overheat (well a few times near torches, but most of the time I'm in a cooler area).

I'm actually going to tweak the torches temperature a bit lower once I start digging into the config files, it may just be that I've worked in a lot of hot professions so I don't notice heat as readily (welding/brazing, forging, foundry) but I just can't imagine starting to overheat while standing a few feet away from a small fire.

I've got a couple of questions. I checked the faq and things, so I apologize if I missed an already given answer somewhere. It's a neat mod btw, I like watching the physics play out.

What does exactly does "Effect Temperature Cap" do? I get that it has some effect on temperature but not exactly what that effect is, and in what way it's capping the temperature.

Also, I'm currently in a plains biome, and my character constantly sweats, even when it's in a cooler area and carrying just a couple of tools and no armor. Is there a way to turn sweating off, or at least adjust when it starts to happen? I can understand if I'm in a hot location, or carrying/wearing a lot, but this is pretty much constant.

And last question, would it make the game implode if I added the Redstone Lamp to the minecraft custom configs? Is it missing from the configs because of the nature of the block or something? I'd like to change them so they can be hung from ceilings, but I don't want to try it if it for a fact won't work, or will make the game complain if I don't do it in a very particular way.

Is there a way to see the alternate items that can be used in a recipe? (When there's an F in the corner of the box). I could swear there was a way to see what other items could be used in those places, but can't figure out how, or find any information about it. I'm starting to think I just dreampt it up.

Go for it. Wiki's are generally not made by the mod author. They are created by the community. If you want a decent wiki, then there is nothing stopping you.

The "official mekanism" wiki in the first post is created by the mod author.

Use your brain, it's pretty hard to update a wiki with information I don't have.

How? it's got all of the recipes therefore it's a recipe list.

No, I will not use NEI, I already have crafting guide and I am not interested in switching.

I'd like to see this mod actually get proper up to date documentation. The official wiki is a joke, and borderline useless. One shouldn't have to use an outside mod to be able to simply craft things.
