I got a request or an idea which may be simple or may be tricky...
My greatest wish is to use this with IndustrialCraft, to be specific, cooling the nuclear reactors (which probably means that it has to replace regular water.)
But the problem I see before we get to that stage is different, block and item IDs.
Is there a chance we can get a separate .txt or something where we can define these ourselves to ease compatabillity with other mods?
I don't know if you have this implented already (Not enough documentation.) but if not, I am throwing it out for you.

Apr 23, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from TecmagDiams »Firstly, don't get me wrong, I understand everyone has the right to choose how they want it to work by using (or not using) a mod as this.
Quote from Loren Larsa »But, it is nice to see we have some mod developers that take it upon themselves to "Fix" it and delay the implentation until Notch fixes the bigger ones.
I'm sorry, but that makes no sense. "Since notch fixes minor things first, then majors things, we need to undo the minors fixes until a major one comes out then do them."
A fix is a fix. Yes, I agree he should prioritize better, but it makes no sense to REMOVE a patch simply because it was not a major one first.
Quote from TheReasonWhyGuy »EXACTLY!
People who abuse glitches, will always be pissed when their glitch gets fixed.
This. Honestly I think notch should have fixed the minecart glitch when he made the boost/brake pieces. People know it's a glitch, if you don't want it broken, don't use a glitch.
Well it makes a point, because it shows that he got things to learn and you mark resistance.
And thats the most important thing to do, show that they just cannot do as they please without facing consequences.
Glad we agree on Notch' poor sense of bug judgement, he really needs to smack major ones and leave the minors... Plus give head warning, naturally I got one shaft I need to fix but I got the space and nor do I use it very often, and it is built to be freefall express compatible...
Apr 22, 2011I dunno how feasible this is, but when building things, I have been looking for water similar to classic with the flooding aspect.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
However, as a separate block so you still have the normal water with the 8 tile current.
Naturally with some restrictions, like it cannot propogate over normal water, and this would have made it useful for underwater bases where you want to have proper flooding a risk, but you do not want it to spread to the ocean and flood your mine you are digging out nearby.
Or lose the abillity to create waterfalls.
Apr 22, 2011Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Jaga »I don't mind that Notch "fixed ladders", and I love the fact that there is a mod we can use temporarily while we work on fixing those in our games.
What I do mind, is Notch not warning the community ahead of time that he was going to "fix" (break) our existing implementations, and we should prepare accordingly. It is just sloppy on his part to impact people without warning.
Notch is a strange developer, he has massive breaking bugs but he doesn't know to prioritize.
The ladders are a "MINOR" bug and as such, anything with MAJOR should take priority before moving to minor.
Sadly, Notch fixes some majors, THEN moves on to do a bunch of minors, things we do not want fixed before the majors are taken care of.
A Major would be some of the Minecart bugs in MP and we saw some other bugs pre the Beta series such as fixing the dropping and picking up tools.
This was fixed BEFORE the Minecarts, and that should have taken priority over that small tool inconvience.
This is not not just my opinion, I have spoken with several other Indie game developers and they totally agreed with me on Notch priorities.
But, it is nice to see we have some mod developers that take it upon themselves to "Fix" it and delay the implentation until Notch fixes the bigger ones.
Apr 20, 2011Loren_Larsa posted a message on *MineOS+* a tiny Linux OS for easy hosting w/webpanel 1.73/CB *New v0.4.0!*A nice little thing, but I have one little "grief" with it, a hickup that I would like a solution to.Posted in: Server Support and Administration
Some way to easily dump files via network into the server.
This could be new plugins that you have downloaded for bukkit or a new world.
Presently there is no easy way of doing it, either a simple FTP setup or regular file sharing.
Any good things that can be achieved on this matter?
Feb 6, 2011Well, it cannot insert it into premade maps no, but there is a generator that makes tree's using math.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
I have however not been able to crack it, or make it work like I want it to, I had hoped to populate the world with trees using this utility though :tongue.gif: unfortunatly it cannot load the 1.2 Gb world, nor did it want to generate on a small piece of the world (Starting area.) so I placed some using MCEdit to make the map work at least.
Feb 6, 2011Presently it seems MCEdit is the only one that allows you to properly merge worlds, and it allows you to do it by chunks, but it has to be saved as a schematic.Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Regardless, that the developer stopped developing this due to the "competition" isn't totally valid, this one is way more suited for editing big maps than the others with the 2D overview and ease of chunk moving and pasting, none of the others have that.
MCEdit can do the job, but isn't as versatile as this one is, provided it had handled big maps.
Feb 6, 2011I seem to have found a weakness in your program...Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Big maps just doesn't seem to load, I got a map of 1.2 Gb however it stops loading it at approx 1/8 I would say everytime.
And it is not running out of memory or disc space, as it is only spending 300 Mb out of 6Gb availible, MCEdit did tackle it nicely though so it is not a problem in itself but the tree generator would have been nice.
Feb 5, 2011Ah nice, I am already running a hMod server, not sure what version but I am guessing the latest anyway.Posted in: Server Support and Administration
I'll give it a test run and give some feedback, this will definitly make transitions easier to newer versions.
Feb 1, 2011I am wondering if there are any name spoofers that work with the latest beta? Reason is I am not too happy with my account name in game so I did find one for 1.1_02 that I have been running up till now where you set your name in a .txt and off you went.Posted in: Server Support and Administration
Presently I am looking for a replacement that works with the official version, because yes, I have bought it and I do have an account on the webpage and it is linked to this forum account so that is verifiable if it is piracy that worries you.
All I am looking for is a name spoofer that works, until Mojang get their own name feature implemented, it also makes a transition much easier considering a lot is tied in to my name on the server already and avoiding having to port all of it over is desirable.
Feb 1, 2011Did some more testing, this on a blank pure Hmod 133 server, now it launches either way but doesn't recognize the Subterrainian switch... :sad.gif:Posted in: Mods Discussion
Nor does it generate any options in server.properties either, so something is amiss since it is not applying any settings.
EDIT: I have generated 4 worlds at least so far, but any of the settings I make do not take effect.
I tried to set the water to 100 and 400 to see if it had any effect on the generated world, sadly nothing happened at all.
I still started on land with normal water, and ignored the subterrainian switch completely.
I wonder, is there any support for 1.1_02?
Jan 31, 2011Got it running, well somewhat, I replaced the order and it starts up at least.Posted in: Mods Discussion
If I kept that running order of the two .jar files the server would just stop with no appearent fault code.
However, while it runs now, I do not see any effects of it (Tried to enable subterrainian which is my main reason for using this) I also tried setting the water level to 80 to see if it had any effect... Sadly... none.
So clearly there is more to it here under the surface or I am not meant to use this :tongue.gif:
Jan 30, 2011Well, the command line I am trying to use to launch it is like this:Posted in: Mods Discussion
@echo off "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms1024M -Xmx1024M -cp terraintweaker.jar:Minecraft_Mod.jar Main nogui pauseAnd that gives me the error above, the other way around by replacing the two gives me a similar error as well :S
Jan 21, 2011Thanks man, now this is quite a surprise and a good one.Posted in: Mods Discussion
I will try to deploy it right away and see how it goes.
EDIT: Hmmm running it with hmod seems like a tough call since hmod calls minecraft_mod.jar and I cannot seem to make that play on the same team as Terrain Tweaker right now :sad.gif:
EDIT: The error I keep bonking my head into is:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: main Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: main at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) Could not find the main class: main.
