posted a message on How to make a Resource Pack
    Quote from andygreeny11

Thanks for the help to make a resource pack, but when i came to select it in game, i only have the default option, and i have my pack in the correct folder. Any tips on how to fix it?

Make sure the MCMETA files are there. IF it isnt it screws it up and the client wont find it. Also, it may or may not need to be a zip file (cant remember about that)

I recommend going to this link and making sure that the files match where they. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Resource_pack

Scroll down to the folder structure and make sure the structure in the picture matches the structure of YOUR resource pack. The ones that dont, maybe delte or save for later use if you do think you need them :)

    I'm a bit confused now =S

Here are the steps that I did and it worked perfectly each time.

    1. Download TextureEnder.jar
    2. Run TextureEnder.jar from my Downloads folder
    3. Choose Wind Waker {128x}.zip from my Desktop
    4. Hit 'Convert'
    5. Check Desktop for converted Wind Waker {128x}.zip
    6. Done?

Was I just lucky that the process worked each time I did it for each version of my resource pack... or? =x

Lucky. It works for some people, but for others (like me) it refused to -.- I think theres even a bug report about this in the MCBug tracker.

posted a message on Resource Pack Tutorial
So, I noticed several people had trouble with this little java applet, and I had soe trouble myself to be honest!

So, I thought I'd make a quick 'n easy to use tutorial on the subject. To start off, you need to dowload the applet, which can be found here: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Resource_pack. Look on that page in the first paragraph and it will contain the download to the Texture Ender.jar. I didnt want to include a direct download just because of copyright problems and such.

Anyways, once you have this, the rest is simpler then you might think. What I like to do is create a seperate (temporary) folder simply for the purpose of conversion of the pack. You dont have to, but it makes things a bit simpler. After that follow these steps.
    1. Drag an UNZIPPED version of the texture pack you are converting into the folder we made earlier. (I cannot stress how important it is to use an unzipped version of the pack. If you try using the zipped version, the TextureEnder will be useless and just convert the animation files.)
    2. Drag the TextureEnder.jar into our folder and run it. This should bring up a blank window that shortly prompts you to pick a file. From the prompt, navigate to the unzipped version of the texture pack, but don't go INTO it. Just click on it once, then click the "Convert Packs" button. The prompt should close and the white screen should fill with a bunch of spam lines that you cant read because its moving so fast :P
    3. Wait for a line in the window to say "All done!" or something close to that. Once this happens, the screen spam should be stopped. Now you can click the TextureEnder window off and go back to the folder where we started at. There will be a new folder called {name-of-texturepack-here}-converted-######### The ######## will be a bunch of numbers that means nothing to us, but i assume is the actual date and time of conversion.
    4. Take the converted folder and rename it to the actual name of the texture pack, then copy it and move it to the 'resourcepacks' folder in .minecraft. Very important that it goes there and not texturepacks as its no longer a texture pack.
    5. Run the game and enjoy! Once you know it worked, feel free to delete the temporary folder we created at the beginning
If you followed those steps, it should be working perfectly, however, just in case it doesn't heres a couple common errors I've found so far:
    1. You tried to convert a zipped pack - The texture pack must. not. be. zipped. When you convert it it CANNOT be zipped or it may not work correctly. It depends on java there, so it may work for some people, and not others.
    2. You didn't include pack.txt - This file absolutely has to be in the folder to convert. I'm not sure why but it screws it up if it isnt.
Anyways, I hope this helps at least some people. Please by all means, if you have questions or errors, post them in the comments and I'll see what i can do to help! :)

The only option I'd honestly like to have is the option to have the server run off real time. THAT would be epic. That way you could actually judge what time it is ingame by what time it is during the day or night.

    TrinityCraft.

Yeah. No. Very unoriginal. There used to be a Trinitycraft, but it was in the top 10 server list on almost all the servers. Then, it died and a horrible clone tooks its place. The clone sucks btw :3

Just use the classic design and it should work.

    Heres a video :)

If you watch just the beginning of this, then you should have a well working T-Flip-Flop. If you want you could even replace the redstone torch in the bottom hole with a redstone block in between the pistons.

    Hope this helps :)

If the folder isnt their and the mod you are installing doesnt require prequisite mods such as Modloader or Forge, then just create the folder and it should work fine.

Ok, heres something that will make your modding life 10x easier.

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/939149-launcher-magic-launcher-100-mods-options-news/

Go there and download this. Its a better launcher for minecraft.

Once you have the launcher, all you have to do is click "set up" add the mods by selecting them from your downloads, and hit test. This will make it so if their is an error, you just unselect the mod generating the error. No need to force update or delete anything.

If you still cant get this to work, youtube "Modding with Magiclauncher"

Hey, so, I'm wanting to utilize the Water Shaders 1.4.7 update; however I'm having a few problems installing.

Is their any way someone could send me a /bin folder with the mod installed on it? It needs to use optifine as well, because normal PC cant support too much otherwise, even with the new performance updates.

If you could help me out, or want to send me a /bin, please just post here or send me a message. I would appreciate this so much :)
