I know that people in charge actually look at these, and this is still ongoing, so I will share my issues as well.
I would like to know why the little "online" symbol above the avatars has been removed. And more importantly, the little list at the bottom of the people viewing a topic, the "X users, Y guests, Z anonymous users", why that is missing. I found the list of people on a topic to be useful. And the little thing that tells me if someone is online or not. That simple little icon.
I know in SOME locations you can hover the mouse over the username and a box will try to load that lets you view their profile, and whether they are online. I say "some" because it only seems to work on the headings of PMs. And it never seems to load.
And, of course, I have not noticed much improvement in reliability/stability. I'm still getting 502s and "Server at Capacity" messages quite frequently.
Then there are the issues many people have brought up I don't feel like repeating.
I'm hoping that these issues will be resolved somehow.

It seems like the simplest, most reasonable explanation.
OK, so we didn't SEE her collect it (wouldn't that be an odd thing to show in a show aimed at children?), but it is possible that she did after Rarity left.
As for residual energy, possible, but would it serve any purpose? Given how you could easily just find a unicorn on the street and ask to borrow a cup of magic, it wouldn't make sense to gather up dust with a weak residual charge unless it had some special properties. Knowing what sort of properties it has would definitely make it easier to imagine uses for the dust.
Now, you pay close attention to details so you are the go-to guy for this: does the magic actually radiate FROM the horn, or simply gather AROUND it?
I thought about that too, although the realism of a costume or decorative skeleton would be questionable. I would have thought by now there would have been a skeleton in a doctor's office or the classroom, additional x-rays in the hospital, something. Given that there are 3 different races coexisting, a bit of eduacation about wings and horns seems like it would be something that just happens as part of their phys ed or health class. And the hospital, well, it's obvious why they would have model skeletons or diagrams on hand.

I like where this discussion went, it's a shame I was busy all day.
A while back, when I was designing gryphon Markus and the robot deer Iron Sable, the idea of "magitech" came up as a way of introducing technology that is downright futuristic without warping canon too badly. In this case, it came down to three items of varying complexity: energy blasters, a scanner with a magically-projected HUD, and an entire robot. I decided that the robot would be programmed by way of "memory crystals", and a similar principle could enable the programming of the scanner. How magic and technology really comes together this way is something I never really thought about, as well as a very valid point about how the devices would be powered.
I'll have to actually think this stuff out a bit more now.
This is actually really cool. There are a lot of practical applications for this idea, even outside of traps.
If that description was actually what it was, I have one question for you:
WUT?
OK, we went full-on Deadliest Warrior with this, we could practically write Pony 300 at this point (THIS! IS! EQUESTRIA!!) and you are still worried about the damn bomb?
I kinda think the horn might be similar to a tooth, a bony structure with a core filled with nerves and stuff. However, unlike a tooth, the outer layer might gradually build up more and more layers of this material, similar to the rings in a tree.
Aloe might not be collecting the dust because:
1. That might be seen as rude.
2. That dust must be fairly common.
3. If it's just a dead layer of thick horn material (keratin, alicorn, whatever), it might not even HAVE magic properties. The root might, though.
I used to wonder about that too, but if what I just said for point #3 turns out to be the case, it would be like saving hair from a haircut or toenal clippings.
I think I just described that too. Quick, find a unicorn skull and study it!
...No, seriously, has there ever been a pony skeleton on the show, as a medical reference or anything? Closest I can think of is when RD had her wing x-rayed.
Kinda makes me wonder about their medical science now.
That is actually really freaking cool.
I can see Twilight being stupid enough to do that, too.

That could be cool, actually. I think you described this earlier, something about a band being a different color, too? (Sorry for my bad memory.) Might look really cool drawn and colored, too.
Hybrids are a good way to get some interesting things going on. It might not be right for everyone, though.
I really took a liking to that hybrid 'sona I made.
You're welcome! I'm not really sure what kind of suggestions to offer, it's been a while since I have taken a good look at Lucario. Just be sure to keep the raccoon tail in the design!

I will spare you the intricacies, because you don't care, and honestly, neither do I. After they ran out of story at the end of the Cell Saga, they just made up more "levels" of it so that the characters could keep getting stronger and stronger. And that's why I stopped caring after Cell, because all they did was focus on gimmicks to get stronger and stronger.
Awesome!
So... you brought up one very unique example of a meteor, which was literally one in a trillion, for WHAT reason?
Dude, should have just stuck to talking about bombs!
Also, if it blows up while the pegasus is still holding it, chances are they are pretty high up still (to avoid being caught in the blast), so making it explode up there will just make it rain Pony McNuggets and charred feathers.
Rabid brony much?
2
Well, there was "super saiyan". That was just Vegeta always talking about how he was the greatest blah blah blah. Rewatching it a few months ago, after I initially watched it when I was 14 or 15, he does have some character growth and all, but he is overall just an arrogant douche driven by his need to be the most powerful super space monkey man. That's just his character.
Ssky, this is what we discuss tomorrow before MBM gets on here: enchanted items vs. "magitech".
Why would they be using a nuke? Also, a meteor is a falling space rock, not a bomb.
Pretty sure my exact wording was "bunker buster", implying the WWII-era big bombs used to, strangely enough, bust bunkers. Not atomic in any way.
Ummm... wut?
You threw candy. At kids. While shouting about "best pony". And then closing the door in their face.
Add that to the long list of reasons why people think bronies are creepy.

Why not add some Lucario elements to a raccoon? That could look pretty cool. Have a sort of hybrid thing going. That would be pretty unique.

Yeah, that warning. Any idea who needs to be made aware of that so they can get it taken care of?
The skin looks good, by the way.
The fat raccoon works quite well. Just looks really cartoony and cute!

You came to the exact same conclusion I did.
Basically, it would come down to a situation where a mixed bag of weakened survivors from all the other groups would find themselves overrun. Earlier on, all they had to do was evade the swinging clubs and odd arrows and whips sent their way by the Dogs while contending with adversaries that posed greater threats. As the battle wears on, the Dogs would be able to acquire a variety of weapons and items. While not super-smart, they don't seem to be total idiots, either. Accounting for a few dumb ones accidentally finding and drinking the "bad" potions, which might not affect them as rapidly due to size and physiology differences as well as a few getting taken out by ponies, gryphons or zebras, there would still be a sizable number of them left when the main fighting ends.
Obviously, they will also take down any of the other races that wandered too close before, so it's not like they are sitting it out and waiting (something I initially considered the gryphons might do, but quickly realized they would find that ponies focusing on zebras would work to their advantage), it's just that each side has more pressing concerns than the brutes with the clubs.
It would come down to a mix of each race, some badly wounded, others still in fighting shape, suddenly finding themselves surrounded by 20 or 30 heavily armed and armored brutes without a scratch on them. Worse, these guys have picked up some new battle gear and maybe a few healing potions as well.
Worn down from fighting, even if they agreed to work together to survive, they wouldn't stand a chance.
This ends with the Diamond Dogs sitting around campfires, eating pony and zebra meat and celebrating.

I love that game too. Been years since I have played it, though.
True, those heroes are not as overpowered as my statement might suggest, but knowing Sarol, that comparison would work for him quite well.
Alright, my take on zebras:
Also, since the zebra are pretty blatantly African, they would have a sort of survivalist mentality as well. The savanna is a dangerous place filled with predators and rival tribes. As a result, they would be much more alert and aware of their surroundings.
Using their potions is what really sets them apart from any other enemy so far. The lighter armor gives them greater agility, their awareness would translate to better evasion. I also want to give them the bonus of sharper reflexes, either because of their nature or from using a stimulant of some sort.
The one-two combination of blindness potions and smoke bombs makes it difficult to attack the zebras, and the poison tips on their daggers, javelins and darts could take down any pony that got hit by them as the battle wears on. The combination of pain-numbing and healing potions makes it hard to really slow them down, so any hit HAS to be critical to even count. That slightly sharper reflexes and speed is going to make them a bit tougher to hit, along with their sharpened senses.
It would be close, but gonna go with zebras for the victors.

My thinking of "champions" was what I listed: an exceptional example of the race or faction, someone with unique powers or abilities. Think along the lines of Star Wars Battlefront 2: you can get the option of playing as a "hero" for your faction, usually a Sith or Jedi. These characters, while allied with a faction, are extremely overpowered compared to average troopers.
So, minotaur group. Do it up! I would guess that being bovine, they would have a social structure, and probably aggressive, too.
Adding in my thoughts on dragons now.Dragons done! But ALL of this is irrelevant once fire is brought into the equation. This is where the dragons can end the battle before it even begins. Metal armor is useless against fire, even enchanted it won't do much to protect the wearer if there is exposed flesh. The magic shielding could hold for a while, but depending on the style being used, it would simply engulf the caster anyways by going around the shield, or cooking them within their own forcefield.
A few quick strafes with the fire breath could cook any annoying pegasi making a last-ditch effort to blind the dragon, and any that dodge the fire will have to also contend with the dragon swatting at them or even just eating them.

I had to state right away that there would be no heroes or champions for two reasons:
1. The Mane 6 and Shining Armor. TWO Sues on the ponies' side?
2. The one you touched on, OCs. I could bring Shining Moon (a healer), Silverlance (let's just define him as "heavy unicorn infantry"), my gryphon Markus (who has blasters, grenades and a piece of technology that is effectively a scouter, along with his personality and training as a shadow-ops guy), or Thunderlance (elemental magic-electricity) into this. I'm sure just about everyone else here has their own awesome OCs that they could add too.
Looks like we have a bit of disagreement about Diamond Dogs, but the outcome is the same. Myself, I would rather just see everyone's interpretations of the scenarios rather than debate on whose scenario is most likely. MBM, you contribute too, dammit!
Gryphons:
Also, gryphons aren't painfully stupid like Diamond Dogs. They are also cunning, and I can see them going so far as to grab ponies and use them as meat shields. Rather than a barbarian horde, the gryphons would be like a band of shadowy mercenaries with the skills to stand up to and take out a regular army.
Most of what Ssky said is similar enough to my own thoughts, no need to repeat any of it.
Victor: gryphons.

OH HELL YES!
(I spoilered the technical details to save space.)
I want to add in that no faction should have any sort of "champion" or "hero" or anything like that. Just standard soldiers with whatever standard training and combat experience they would have.
I like how both 21 and 39 are divisible by 3, giving us an even number of pony unit types. Let's go with 39, I think they could easily get a legion this size.
Location: generic battlefield. Some trees, rocks, hills and so on, but nothing that would really give one group an edge over another based on location alone (such as Diamond Dogs in caves).
Alright, Diamond Dogs:
However, I highly doubt they would have the same sort of organization and planning as the ponies would. It would be just like a barbarian horde going up against a Roman legion. They would also lack the ability to fly or use magic, meaning they are a bit outclassed in the mobility department, but with a few archers they might be able to compensate for the lack of magic to cast ranged attacks.
I really personally want to give this to the Diamond Dogs... at first. I just see them being able to take AND dish out more damage. Their arms are pretty long, meaning they would have a range advantage over the earth ponies and could easily batter them with whatever melee weapons they have long before the ponies could get in and kick them to death.
Pegasi will have the edge so long as they can drop their darts and distract the enemy, or single one out and pick him off that way. Once they have to get into the thick of it, I can see them getting picked off pretty easily, and they don't have the armor or durability of the earth ponies to keep them alive for long while being beat on with clubs and so on. Not sure how effective a lasso would be on something as fast as a pegasus, but I bet they would be able to snag a few that way.
This leaves the unicorns, and this is where things get interesting. It's going to be difficult to get past an incoming volley of magic shots and bows, but their armor can probably stand up to it enough for a few to get over there, at least. The next challenge would come from a combination of shields blocking them and the various magic attacks and weapons at the unicorns' disposal. I get the feeling they could smash through magic barriers eventually, and their armor might be able to withstand the barrage of arrows and magically-swung swords and energy bolts, but what really does them in is a one-two punch of lack of intelligence and lack of mobility. However, I see the pony forces being smart enough to realize that a full-frontal assault is not the best option and resorting to a more defensive strategy. The ponies would know how to orchestrate their defense and offense to enable them to hold the enemy off long enough to eventually defeat them.
Victor: ponies, but with a lot of casualties. It would be messy, but I think they would emerge victorious in the end.
...I kinda wasted a lot of time on this one, so I will do some scenarios for the other ones later.
I would like to add an enemy faction of zebras, though. Basing this off what we have seen with Zecora and my understanding of various tribal warriors: they would have access to potions and some voodoo spell stuff, weapons and armor would be very light, but their edge would come from the witch doctors. With the ability to make smoke bombs and poison to put on blow-darts and whatever spear-like weapons they could craft and wield, I can see a group of 20 or so of them actually being worth adding to our list of possible enemies. Let's say 7 witch doctors and 14 general warriors, who are physically comparable to the earth ponies but without the heavy armor, 5 of which have blowguns and poison darts, 5 have some sort of throwing javelins and all carry short, sharp daggers they can use with their mouths.

If they shoot at a pegasus flying over them that is carrying a bomb beneath him, chances are good that they will hit the bomb. Then there will be an explosion and a shower of scorched feathers.
The situations where swords are useful are limited, but then again, so are the situations where a grenade launcher is useful.
I could draw something, but lazy. Pretty sure I am right about what I said though, based on my understanding of how wings work. That edge will be on the bottom when the wings are at rest (but possibly angled towards the body a bit, potential ouch), and when the wings are out to the side, the blades would be too.
You know Boss won't get force magic. He will either say that is too mainstream, or spend so long trying to overly explain it that I will have to interrupt him and hand him the controls to the battle droids. That way, he can sit on the doughnut ship and talk about the force while the robots do all the work!
Magic projectiles would actually be rather limited in their usefulness as well. Enchanted armor could easily render them totally useless, an energy shield would have the same effect, standard armor could probably absorb the brunt of the energy (although sustained fire would definitely wreck it), unicorns might even have a sort of inner magic that would raise their resistance to magic-based attacks. What about dragon hide? Large targets like monsters or dragons?
It all depends on the energy behind it. Twilight has a fairly weak yet rapid-fire energy pulse which I would consider "standard". A charged energy beam (think Hyper Beam or Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon) would require a substantial amount of energy, a fairly long charge and cooldown period, and lacks the ability to be aimed once fired, but would be far more devastating. Meaning THAT has it's own set of limitations to take into account.
Let's assume this isn't pony-vs-pony for a moment, and take into account other factions. Diamond Dogs seem a likely adversary, with many of the qualities of a barbarian horde. If I recall my research when I designed my DD OC, some of them utilize armor and melee weapons. They might also be smart enough to construct and use bows and maybe even cannons, depending on the circumstances. How would a pony military handle a threat like this?
I would say dragons, but we already saw that the strategy for dealing with a dragon attack seems to be having the Worthlessbolts fly in circles around it. But what if they had actual weapons, what would happen then?
Not really sure where to go from here, but it's entirely possible that they would be up against adversaries besides ponies at times. Possibly a way to take this in new directions since we seem to be going in circles now.

Zombie in the pic, though. That's pretty cool. I should have drawn some zombies.
It's not too late, I guess.
Not sure about a server, sorry.
The pic is pretty good, though.
Which reminds me, I DID draw something recently that is pretty cool:
I guess this could have worked for Halloween too.
