Seems pretty thin on features/fixes, my guess would be it's nearly ready to go live.
And bukkit was close to getting a solid 1.0.0 out...

Hmm, depending on what will happen with the final release this will turn in to a normal readable + different font option.
First thing I thought of with the new update stuff was Morrowind... so the enchanting must obviously be daedric runes.

This will make the font when enchanting stuff readable, just replaced it with the normal minecraft text.
Installation
Navigate to your minecraft folder (ex, %appdata%/.minecraft)
Open up the bin folder.
Use 7zip or another archive program to open minecraft.jar.
Replace the original file (alternate.png) inside the font folder with the one linked below.
Read the silly things that don't seem to mean anything anyway.

Post 1.9, lure a few in to a barn and kill the rest. Now go exploring to find the ones you're missing then bring those back to your barn. Turn on mood music, lower the torch light, don't come a knockin' if the barns a rockin'.

Deleting the world then extracting a copy from a compressed archive left on the server does work and is fairly fast.
Just need to get a mysql database set up to try frog's suggestion.. and a few other things..
