While I do not recommend laptops for gaming as a rule of thumb, I believe you should be just fine with that laptop for what you want. It has a decent amount of ram, and uses a decent i7 processor. Should be fine with 32x textures (faithful).

    Take a look at this:

Minecraft is on the list, but it really will depend on what you want out of it. If you are going to use high-end resource packs, shaders, and mods, I would rethink this a bit.

Well there are two problems here. First lets look at getting your server to launch again. If you would be so kind as to post the Batch script in the .bat file, and the crash log, I will take a look at it and see what is going on.

WorldEdit may lag the server for a moment, depending on how much ram you have allocated to the server. This can be mitigated by removing small chunks at a time, or allocating more ram. I don't think It will make a huge difference in the already present lag.

I will give you another option for removing those islands. There is a program call MCEdit. It opens a Minecraft world and allows you to edit blocks. I did not mention it to you earlier as it is more difficult to use. If you would prefer to send me the world save, then I could remove the islands for you.

Thanks for the help anyways, but I had a friend's dad talk to me over Skype and it had to do something with our new modem, as the server wanted it to be port forwarded through that as well. *cough cough Comcast cough cough.*

But now I have a new question. I had set the Tinkers' Construct config to spawn slime islands every 50 chunks or so, and we had only explored o bit, and when we entered new lands, and after the world generated, Slime Islands were EVERYWHERE! It lagged the game like crazy, and I reset the config so that they'll only spawn like every 10000 chunks. But what I don't know is this:

Will I have to only re-run the server (as I just reset the config) or will I have to regenerate the map or something like that, and if I have to, how do I do that and will it delete any of my already-built structures, as we've dealt with the lag for some time now and are quite advanced into the game.

    Thanks in advance,

    ~PersusjCP :steve_joyous:

Well, the best thing that comes to mind off the top of my head is to fly up there and remove the islands. There are a couple of ways to do this, by hand, explosives, or WorldEdit. I would recommend the last one. Will be quick and clean.

You don't seem to get what i mean. The texture there is just an idea. Mojang is most likely going to change it if they add it to the game. Disliking a suggestion because "I don't like the texture/sprites" is a rather shallow reason....

Mojang would have to because of copyright reasons. Actually let me re-phrase that "have" to a "would". Even if you gave them permission to use it, they would not just to be on the safe side. Besides, you gave them the idea, least they can do is code and texture it right :D

They are because you can get trojans/malware from them. and also i hate the fake ads that adfly has, thats how i ruined my pc. i was new to mods at the time, and i clicked an open download manager download when i was trying to get forge. and thats how i got conduit.com as my web browser. and also i got the gorilla price adware/spam virus. somehow but that was last year and my pc got wiped so no more viruses for me YAY! but that just shows you how much you can't trust those kinds of sites. they can also have those kinds of ads too.

I think the adfly thing happens to everyone when they first use it. If I were to ever use their service, I would make it clear to those downloading which button you click. So is it safe, so long as you know what you are doing. I put blame on SOME of the mod authors. They should make it more clear for new users. Personal responsibility is what it comes down to in the end on that one.

Not realy because i kinda did post all of the safe places to get mods except mcf mod list. but its more important to tell people about sites that arent safe to help prevent them from getting a virus/viruses.

I can agree in part to this. You called out the "Most Wanted" list, which is good. The problem is that their are many out their besides what you listed. I think it is good that you posted this as it may help keep people safe. I mostly wanted to make sure that MCF was marked a safe site, as it is an excellent tool for checking what mods are up to date, and where to find the safe download for it. Good job on this.

Here is the list i have come up with so far of unsafe sites for downloading mods: minecraftdl, 9minecraft, 8minecraft, 6minecraft, 5minecraft, 4minecraft, 3minecraft, and 2minecraft. Basically any site that uses a number before minecraft is unsafe, and only use the minecraft forums, planet minecraft, curseforge, or curse.com for download links. And just because you use a site doesn't mean that its safe. And also don't ever use swiftlygames.com it is a malicious mirror of the minecraft forums.

You named all the "good places" I could think of except http://modlist.mcf.li/ which is supported by the Minecraft Forum, if I am not mistaken.

posted a message on Plugin question?
While it has been a while since I have used these, I believe the answer is still yes. I had three worlds on my server, Survival, Creative, and Mining World. The later was to keep the Survival from being completely dug up.
All three worlds a user could view by clicking an icon on the map.

Edit: See this page for details: https://github.com/webbukkit/dynmap/wiki/World-and-template-settings

Around Alpha 1.2 was when I first tried the game. Did not get into it until Beta though. Beta 1.8 was by far best update to the game.

posted a message on Thinking about doing a (Shadow of Israfel) - More Details In Post
Well let me give some more tips really quickly.

    1. Before adding someone to your team, ask to see some of their work. For example, if they are a builder, ask them to quickly build something and how long it took them to build it. Same with writers,
    2. You should probably make a new post for recruiting and link to it here. This way you can be more specific on what you want to get out of it, and keep this as a measure of interest in the idea. At this point, it is highly important that you are specific with what you are thinking about doing, and what you expect from those who wish to join.
    3. For your case, it would be best to start out with a team of 5-6 people. Two-Three players, 2 builders, and one Architect who doubles as a writer. As it gets going, you will want to add more writers and builders, but best to keep the Architect as the Lead Writer and Builder. Makes it a lot easier for the two groups to communicate.
