Simple. The numbering system doesn't go as you think it will:
1.10.x. 1.11.x, ..., 1.20.x, ..., 1.50.x etc
This is standard numbering for software releases.
Using 1.5.0 as an example:
The first number (1) is the application number, and not likely to change for Minecraft. The second number (5) is the major feature set (in this case "redstone update"), and the third number (0 at the moment) is a bugfix/minor feature set,

Mining iron doesn't give you xp. Is that supposed to happen? Cause you get xp from coal.
Yes, this is supposed to happen. You get the XP when you smelt the iron in a furnace.

Of note, Hannah is going through a different applicant. I'll go ahead and take this one.

Please do not try to create modpacks of this. UncleMion does NOT want modpacks created, and it is best that we respect her wishes.

No, you'll still be able to log in to your other servers just fine. The reason we are asking you to do this is because we think there might be an odd corruption in the .minecraft profile - it's happened to a couple of players on the server so far, myself included. Reinstalling from a fresh Minecraft install fixed it for us. Just make sure to copy everything back after seeing if Gulliver works, so you don't lose your servers and saved worlds.

You probably have Java 8 installed. Because of this, you need the legacy java fixer, just put it in your mods folder. http://files.minecraftforge.net/LegacyJavaFixer/legacyjavafixer-1.0.jar

You need to learn how to use google effectively. Try changing the search time to the last month, and see what pops up.

Hello moonwolf187, my name is Lomgren and I'll be looking at your application today. Unfortunately it is a very poor quality application. Questions 2 and 3 are far, far too short, not really explaing why you want to join our server or explaining how you would be able to contribute to the community. Your facts are too short as well, and too focused on minecraft-y skills - they are really not random at all. And to top it all off, you end your application with the all-caps "PLZ LET ME JOIN."
I'm afraid that with an application like this, you aren't going to make it on our server, so I highly suggest googling and finding another server to join.

Hello BlinkyEater, my name is Lomgren and I'll be the one to review your application today. Sorry about the delay! Let's get right to it.
Before I get to the questions, your application does have some formatting issues... not as bad as some applications, but it's still not the easiest to read. It is separated, but breaks between all of the lines would be even better, and numbering them as well. There are also some spelling issues.
1. This checks out, and is your only name used.
2. Loving the Gulliver mod isn't really a good reason to join, nor is the fact that we are a server that happens to be running the mod. This answer also throws up a couple of red flags:
a) You use the "forever alone" meme in it.
You say you don't want our documentation on the server.
Both of these are worrying, and the rest of your answer seems to imply you are bored with single player Gulliver.
3. What you quoted isn't currently what the question states - it's asking about how you would make a positive contribution to the server. Knowing how Minecraft works and how the Gulliver mod works doesn't really contribute anything. "Usually never" also throws up another red flag here. We also have a lot of builders and people knowledgeable about redstone, so this isn't really a good answer..
4. These random facts seem a bit incredulous. Several of these facts try to make you seem smart, and to be honest, I don't really believe them, especially with the spelling problems and lack of formatting here. I don't believe facts 1 or 4 at all, and fact 3 seems like you are trying to say "I'm Asian, so that makes me smart." These answers throw a few more red flags into the mix.
5. This right is correct, but you didn't really explain why you like it.
6. Correct!
All in all, I have to say this application is lacking in several areas, but more importantly, it's also not painting a good picture of you to me. I know you are trying to impress us, but that's not what we are looking for in an application. The process is to determine the character of the player, and I don't like what I am seeing or the vibe I am getting from this application. You would have to do a LOT of explaining to be accepted. Instead, I'm going to recommend that you try to find some other servers - Google is your friend in this case.

Hello ajan333, my name is Lomgren and I'll be your reviewer this evening. Let's get right to it!
1. Yup, this checks out, and is your only name so far.
2. I know that Cia googled some other potential servers recently, but they may have not taken off. But this answer has a bit of a red flag in it - why is multiplayer Gulliver not going to be boring if singleplayer is?
3. Well, this is an average answer, but it's good that you try to figure stuff out on your own first.
4. This answer has some worrying red flags in it to me. Hating people and humanity in general? Swearing next to close friends? These random facts do not instill confidence.
5. This answer isn't picked often, why did you pick it?
6. Correct!
Your application does have some worrying tendencies in it. Can you address the following in a new application?
Question 2 - Can you explain how multiplayer Gulliver will be less boring than singleplayer?
Question 3 - Can you go into more detail here? Something more specific to helping the community?
Question 4 - Can you go into more detail on hating people and your usage of profanity? And it's also a good idea to include some better answers than the hating people and using profanity ones, but since you already had them, they need to be addressed.
Question 5 - Can you explain why you chose this right/responsibility over all of the others?
Sorry on the delay on getting you reviewed, but with the holiday in the US, things get a little wacky. Anyway, have a great night, and hope to have your updated application soon!

You may be running into the issue noted above by CIa - are you running the 64-bit version of Java 8? If so, you may want to try the 32-bit version, and if that fails, you may have to install Java 7 alongside Java 8 and use that instead.

Hello ratchetdude, my name is Lomgren and I'll be your reviewer today. Let's get right to it!
First off, your application is difficult to read - the formatting on it is way off, and the questions aren't numbered for easy reference. But let's see what I can interpret from this application:
1. Looks good, and your only name so far.
2. This raises a couple of red flags - because you say that you get bored with vanilla MC servers, what's to say you won't get bored with ours? There's not really a good explanation here - it's Gulliver, and you get bored with vanilla? What else is there?
3. This answer doesn't do a lot of explanation. It says things you are good at, but not how you can apply it to the server. This needs to be rewritten to be more concise and more explanatory.
4. It's difficult to separate your answers out here, but from what I can see, you have plenty. But It still needs to be updated to be more readable.
5. This answer is picked by so many people it's not funny. What other novice creed rule is interesting to you?
6. This is correct!
So, I can't recommend you for whitelisting yet. You need to improve your application. Please reformat it so that the question numbers are right there along with the answers, and space it out more. Also, please address what I noted above:
2. A better reason for wanting to join our server.
3. A better explanation of what you would bring to our server.
4. Better separation of your random facts, to make it readable.
Also, please do NOT edit your application, please post it again in a new post.
Thank you, and have a great day!

Hello Kirby, my name is Lomgren and I'm currently a Commissioner on Big Sister. I'll be your reviewer today, so let's get right to it!
1. Your name checks out, and is your original name to boot!
2. We do have a nice community, though people do come and go as is the nature of communities. We do indeed have a lot of fun and interesting builds, towns, and the like. All in all, this seems like a good set of reasons to be interested, and shows you have looked into the server a bit.
3. This sounds like you are a decently mature person, and I have to say, the more people who know Java, the better. (Considering I have almost 6 years of experience in the work force with it... I may be biased).
4. You have quite an interesting set of facts here, and quite varied. It's good to see that you are fairly well-rounded!
5. Ah, yeah, you did read the rights and responsibilities! This one seems to get picked a lot though...
6. Correct on both counts!
After careful consideration, I do believe you are whitelist material! I've gone ahead and added you to the whitelist, so you should be good to go. Welcome to the server!

That is likely due to the java 8 issue. Put this .jar file in your mods folder.

I'm going to list several reasons - note that I'm not doing this as a favor to you, I'm doing this to show how serious we take our application process, and hopefully show the kind of players we are looking for. Also note that I'm doing this on my own time, wasting it as you would put it, and also without discussing it with Cia. Any further responses from you besides an acknowledgement of this post will be reported.
1. Your first attempt this time around showed that you didn't really want to put time and effort into an application, as you didn't set aside ample time to write a good application. This is not the sign of a good player.
2. You admitted that you had applied in the past and been rejected, and gave up. Another concerning bit of information.
3. Your response to being told that you had an oxymoron in your application was to become offended and show how immature you really are, and then say that you were going to be on the server, period. This is a demand, and not a good one to make, and shows your character even more.
4. Your responses after being told that you would never be whitelisted continued to show how immature you are, by making demands of not just those of us who help on the server or are staff, but one of the server owners, not just asking explanation on why you have been denied but demanding it, like you are entitled to a full explanation. (That you are getting one now is beside the point)
5. Your thought on mature people "not denying someone" for a joke is a fallacy. Mature people don't have to respond to immaturity multiple times. Once is enough to get the point across.
6. As part of your applications, you mention being bored (which is a red flag) and having ADHD (which is also a red flag, no offense to those who have it). Boredom leads to mischievousness, which leads to problems on the server.
7. Continued attempts to get a response from staff, and not getting one, causing you to "throw a temper tantrum" on the forums here for everyone to see just adds more proof of your immaturity. Denying that you are immature doesn't mean that it isn't true.
8. Posting repeated applications after being told that you wouldn't be whitelisted shows you can't let something go easily, which is another sign of immaturity, and also signs of holding grudges. People don't always get what they want, and if they don't, they need to move on to something else they can get. You have refused to do this.
9. As Cia already noted, your postings are just attempts to get attention. We don't want people who are just "looking for attention" on the server - we want people who are community builders, people who participate. Everything you have posted up to this point shows that you aren't really a contributor.
10. A lot of your applications focus on roleplaying - by itself this isn't a bad thing, but with everything else added in, it's another red flag.
11. Stating your age to "prove that you are mature enough to see immaturity" is yet another sign of immaturity, and proof that you are not mature. Plus, this is the internet, people can state many things that aren't necessarily true.
I could go on, but I think I'll stop here and summarize the above. Essentially, all of your postings taken together paint a true picture of your character. You are immature, an attention seeker, and will lash out if you don't get your way. All of that points to a player who is going to cause trouble on the server. You need to understand this to see how you can change yourself to become a better person - you have far bigger problems than not being able to get on the server. You are not whitelist material, and at this rate, won't ever be whitelist material, so move on, work on your character, and try to become a better person.

You are likely running into the Java 7 vs. Java 8 issue. Try downloading this jar file and put it into the mods folder, and then run it again. http://files.minecraftforge.net/LegacyJavaFixer/legacyjavafixer-1.0.jar
