My game was created in 1.14 and updated to 1.15. Today I returned to my home village for the first time in ages and around 80% of the Iron Golems in the village had cracks in them. There are around 70-80 Golems in that village, and I spent all my iron fixing them.

Toadrunner posted a message on Almost all of my poor Iron Golems were damaged!Posted in: Survival Mode
Holy cow, in Minecraft version 1.14 I never realized that any of the golems were injured. It must have been those pesky skeletons who shoot at them over fences. Anyway, I am glad that it is now easy to recognize which golems need help. -

AstralMagic posted a message on Inherited World IdeaPosted in: Survival ModeMaybe you've heard of "Succession campaigns" in grand-strategy games. Someone plays a campaign until the nation's ruler dies and then passes the save onto the next player.
What if we tried something like that in Minecraft?
Here's a quick draft of the guidelines:
* A single-player world is made and posted to the forums.
* A person gets to play for a set number of Minecraft days or until death, then the save is posted for someone else to continue.
* Players are encouraged to share their progress on the forum.
* We set a community goal and consider the game finished when reach it.
Would you be interested in this? Do you have any suggestions to improve the idea?

dylz__ posted a message on Borderless Smooth Stone?Posted in: SuggestionsThe 'Smooth Stone' we have does a worse job than regular stone when used to make a flat surface, due to the edges of each block.
I suggest either changing the existing Smooth Stone; adding a variant of Smooth Stone without these dark edges ("Light Stone"?); a new type of stone that is that light a colour; or any other way of making smooth stone actually smooth in floors, etc.^
Or just make it so that double diorite/andesite/granite slabs don't create the border, maintaining the smoothness of the slab/stair version.

Eaveslabet posted a message on My take on a "Survival Base Idea Generator"Posted in: Survival ModeI found that a lot of the fun in Minecraft just comes from building a unique survival base, and if you're not the creative type, akin to me, you may have a little trouble with this.
Note that this is not my own site and I do not gain anything from this! This is just a utility.
This is why I made a generator that just takes a few variables and puts them all together, resulting in a unique premise. It's extremely improbable that you'll get the exact same result a second time.
It gives you an adjective, what the build would be, how it would be situated and which biome it would be in, and sometimes a gimmick (Of which there are three). It also gives you a theme to design it around, usually a mob or liquid, for an extra challenge if you would like that.
When building these ideas in Minecraft, it's best to shape the building around the environment, and change the style depending on the biome. "Go with the flow," for lack of a better phrase.
Suggestions for variables are appreciated.
"Fun" Generator (Gives you some much more random variables, not gonna be updated.)

Blank3t_M0nst3r posted a message on Recommendations for New World After Years AwayPosted in: Survival ModeHello!
I'm new here and looking for a bit of advice regarding a new survival world. I haven't played much since ocean monuments first came out (1.12?) and was looking to get back into it with the goal of a long-term solo survival world focused on "lore friendly" builds and bases while exploring everything new and learning deeper mechanics with minimal tutorials. I never really advanced too much back when I played previously but I really want to invest the time now.
My question is, what would you recommend for world settings? I have loosely explored several Default-type world seeds and found some cool ones, but find the terrain of an Amplified world to inspire me to build with the landscape much more. To be clear, I'm looking for interesting terrain formations and biome intersections more than generated structure availability.
What are your thoughts, recommendations, or advice? Please share!

GeoFor posted a message on Why a Nametag?Posted in: Survival ModeWhy is the final trade of a librarian always a nametag? I can't imagine what I'll do with all the ones I get from fishing and from various chests. I have over 2 stacks of them now and find more all over the place.
It would be a lot more useful to have at least a random choice of something that might be more useful. As an instance, my armorer had all four pieces of diamond gear as his last two tiers of trades, two as Expert, and two as master. Makes it easy to rebuild my gear if I lose it somehow as I have librarians selling every spell but Efficiency that I need.

Whizzo posted a message on Trying to think of a good name for a video series. Help AppreciatedPosted in: General Off TopicObligatory note before I get started, not sure whether this is the right sub forum to be using, if it isn't let me know and I'll put it in the right one. Haven't put it in the main video sub forum because the topic isn't to do with Minecraft videos, just video's in general.
So I've had an idea being batted around my head for a pretty long while now, and essentially it is going through my steam library attempting to 100% every single game, according to the steam achievements. The trouble is trying to come up with a suitably catchy yet brief title. The first title that came to mind was Project 100, however when I googled it to check for any major companies that it had potential for clashing with, I found a lot, and I mean a lot, of charitable companies have been using it as their name for projects, somewhat understandably.
So, should I stick with my first idea, going along the logic of the first non idiotic sounding title being something to stick to, or going back to the the thinker for a more unique name which might cause less confusion.
Any help would be appreciated, as always
