You should probably bring the problem up on the MultiMC discord. You'll probably have a better chance getting an answer there.

posted a message on Mod pack suggestions?

The Simple Life 2 is a much larger modpack that has quite an extensive quest book to get you going. You could find out more about it on the Simpletons discord. I've only played a little bit of it myself and never got very far. I might take a look at it though after I finish my Regrowth series.

posted a message on Mod pack suggestions?

If you're looking for a light modpack with a little bit of questing, then take a look at "The Simple Life 1 Revival" It's a 1.10.2 modpack, so it's not the newest build, but it's a decent modpack.

If you want something a little more challenging with a quite extensive questing system, then I would suggest "Regrowth" Now this is a 1.7.10 modpack, so it's an older version of Minecraft, but it's one of the best built modpacks in my opinion and a lot of fun to play.

2-3 Gigs of RAM isn't much to work with when it comes to modded Minecraft. Most people will tell you that you need to dedicate at least 6-8 Gigs of RAM to Minecraft in order to play modded.

Are you looking for a modpack, or just a few mods that you can add? You might just want to stick to a single mod such as Thaumcraft as that would add quite a bit to the game as it is and might work okay with the memory constraints. I'd also suggest adding stuff like NEI (Not Enough Items), JourneyMap, and Fast Leaf Decay. Those should be enough to get you going.

    posted a message on MInecon

I attended Minecon 2016. I worked as a volunteer. It was a lot of fun, but I can understand why Mojang went with the new format.

First of all, the original Minecon was VERY expensive. Tickets were $110 per person. Not only that, most people that attended were travelling in from some other place, so you have to factor in the travel expenses (hundreds to thousands of dollars) as well as food and lodging.

Second, the number of tickets was limited. There were only 10,000 tickets sold to the event. When the tickets went on sale (two batches of 5,000) each time they sold out all of the tickets within about 30 seconds after they went on sale.

Third, people buying tickets just to get the cape. People didn't realize that the capes only worked for the Java edition players. Also, you had to physically attend the convention in order for your ticket to become validated and then Mojang would eMail you the code to get the cape. Also, if you bought your ticket to the convention from a scalper, you wouldn't get the cape. The cape codes were sent to the person who originally bought the ticket. So guess what they would do? The scalper would then sell the cape code on eBay for a few hundred dollars, while you, the person that bought the ticket from the scalper for several hundred dollars would not get the cape that you were hoping for.

Although I loved the experience, and I wish it could have continued, I understand why they made the change. Just look at some of the older threads here in the Minecon section of the forums. No matter where the convention was held at, there was always someone complaining about it being "too far for them to travel" or "the tickets were all sold out" or "it's too expensive!" At least with the online version everyone can in a sense "attend" something. And with the various Minecon parties dotted around the globe, there is still a chance to meet up with other players and YouTubers. I know it's not the same, but they are doing their best to try to accommodate everyone.

Have you looked at the bug tracker to see if the issue has already been reported? https://bugs.mojang.com That would be the best place to report this stuff as nobody from Mojang looks at these forums.

The "Seed" is a random numeric value that gets generated in the game during world creation. You can however enter your own seed into the world generation to produce your own results. If you use a seed that someone else used, your world will generate exactly the same way theirs did, as long as you are both on the same version of the game that is.

Here's a link to the seeds discussion on the forums for your version of Minecraft: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft/seeds

What glitch? You've broken through the bedrock. Beneath that is the void as it should be.

No, not that I know of.

Your best bet is to tear it down and build a different type of farm in the Minecraft version that you are currently playing. You should find something that is a lot more efficient.

Are you playing the Java Edition or the Windows 10 version (Bedrock Engine)? F3 only works in the Java Edition.

posted a message on Custom Recipes To Make The Game Harder?

If you want really hard... Remove all recipes for anything that you can trade with villagers for. Or make is so that the only tools and weapons that you can craft are wood or stone and the only armor that you can craft is leather. All the rest you have to get either by trading with villagers or by mob drops.

posted a message on Minecraft Alternatives? Are there any Android Minecraft clones with functional home server software?

As long as you're not using cheats to give yourself tons of diamonds, or equipment, having cheats turned on for you doesn't really make a difference. You can still get to the end legitimately and defeat the dragon. Just don't switch your game mode to creative, that's really cheaty.

Oh, and there are a ton of free worlds out there that you can download as well. Google for MCPE Maps or MCPE Worlds and you will probably find quite a few on the same sites where you will find the texture packs and other resources.

posted a message on Clueless and wondering wtheck.....

    Welcome to Minecraft!

World generation is somewhat random. It sounds like when your world generated you got a map that is mostly islands and ocean. Try creating a new world (don't delete your current one, you may still want to play on it as a "Survival Island" world), and see what you get next time. You can also enter a seed in the world generation screens to guarantee a specific world type, just make sure that you use a seed for the correct version of Minecraft that you are running.

There are two different versions of Minecraft that run on the Xbox One. You'd have to look at your main screen when you start the game. If the title just says "Minecraft" then you are playing the newer Bedrock engine, AKA the Better Together Update. You are probably on the newer version since you just got this console for Christmas.

Instead of swimming between islands, craft yourself a boat. Ocean travel is much quicker that way.

How do you use the gems? Diamonds can be crafted into much better armor and weapons. Emeralds can be traded with villagers for other items.

Why are you alone in the world? I guess you haven't found a village yet. They generate randomly throughout the world. Don't expect much from the villagers though other than the constant annoying "Hrm" sound that they make. You can't talk with them, but you can trade with them. Villages are also a good place to grab supplies. There are usually a few gardens that you can grab wheat, potatoes, carrots, and beet root from. If there is a blacksmith in the village, there will be a chest in the building that you can grab all the items out of.

You can also play multi-player if you want. You would have your friends or family join in your game and play in your world with you. If you have the newer version of the game you can also join servers and play mini-games there with thousands of other people.

You can craft maps, and expand them out. You can also craft a compass. The compass will always point back to your original spawn point in the world. Also in the latest build of the newer version (1.2.9) you can turn on coordinates without it being a cheat. If you are on the older Xbox One edition, your coordinates will show up at the top of your map.

I would suggest that you watch a few YouTube videos of Minecraft game play. Maybe try a channel like "Adults Only Minecraft." His content is all Java edition, but the game play is similar for the most part. I have a series on my channel called "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition: How to Survive and Thrive." The Windows 10 Edition is now part of the Better Together Update as well, so the game play is the pretty much the same as the new version on Xbox One.
