Is it me or does Minecraft sometimes just completely lose all sound?
I'm sorry if this problem has been brought up already, but it seems to only happen when I have MAtmos enabled.
It works great for a while, all the sounds are real nice, and then everything just poofs.

posted a message on Is this a bug with The End? Or is this normal?
So after playing on my survival world for quite some time, I decided it was time for me to take a trip to the End and kill the Enderdragon and what not. I sport my best enchanted gear, which was more than enough to take on the Enderdragon, and I pop into the stronghold I recently found. I set up the portal and hop right on it, and then I'm taken to a lone obsidian tower with nothing but darkness around me, I press sneak and slowly crawl my way to the edge of the tower, only to hear a bunch of enderman teleporting... and I didn't even see ANY. No purple dust floating around, just TONS of teleporting sounds, I get hit from the back and I fall straight down...
    and I kept falling...
    and kept falling...
and fell out of the world.
Needless to say I lost all of my gear plus some, and it was definitely not a pleasant experience.
So my question is as follows:
Is this normal? I watched a couple of videos upon entering, and everyone appeared to have sand or desert-looking grounds to hop off onto from the obsidian tower. And in the videos no one had as many Enderman as I heard teleporting around me. Plus they could actually see them, and everything around them.
I landed on top of an obsidian tower with nothing but darkness around me. My setting are on brightest, so even in dark caverns I have a slight clue of what's in front of me, but not in the End portal.
Kind of pissed, but I'll get over it. I just want to know what's going on.
Thank you if you read this wall of text.

mind making this magic launcher compatible?

    Quote from jasondude7116

Using Magic Launcher with Matmos r15, Optifine, Modloader, Audiomod, Rei mini-map, and better_sound_mod. Everything works great.

Same goes for me. Works fine on Magic Launcher. Download the latest version of modloader and it should work. Keep modloader on the top of the list and optifine on the bottom and it should be fine...
Still, the only problem is that every single sound disappears in a while and I have to restart MC to get sound back...

posted a message on [1.3.2] Generator Ports — Generate terrain from older versions of Minecraft! — Updated to 1.4.1-5, now fully functional again!
    Quote from Dweller_Benthos

I've tried a few old seeds like Glacier and MadMaxHH World In The Air with the new features and they seem to work, it's just that the terrain will be a little different due to the fact you're adding new features. Got a crazy mountain village on the side of one of the huge overhangs in World in the Air that was just phenomenal.

Ohhh okay. I'll definitely try out the seeds you said. As I said, I'm new and I've only really heard of a... one seed... Gargamel. Yeah I got a village on a mountain as well, and it's quite cool. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but the village get's scattered all around the mountain. It's pretty neat like that though.

    Quote from DatWorldGen

The terrain itself should be the same, it's generated before everything else, but trees and such may be different if you're using any new features.

The generation process works like this:
    - Generate stone, water and ice.
    - Replace topmost stone with biome-specific blocks (dirt and grass, sandstone and sand).
    - Carve caves and ravines.
    - Spawn structure starts (like the big dirt room in mineshafts).
    - When nearby chunks have been generated, populate the chunk with ores, vegetation, structures, etc.

Each step in the process affects the steps after, but not the steps before. The mountains in for instance the Glacier seed would be generated in the first step, so ravines and such won't affect them.

Seeds are really sensitive, make sure there aren't any spaces before or after and that you're using proper case ("glacier" is not the same as "Glacier"). Even a tiny difference in the seed will give you a completely different world.

I see, so if I enable strongholds, mineshafts, and ravines on an old seed, that means it won't change the landscape from the outside. So I could get the best of both worlds?
I'll definitely go try out Glacier. Thanks for the reply and tip!

    Wow. Awesome, awesome mod!
I'm a new Minecraft player, and I've always been hearing about the older map generation being way more breathtaking. After seeing it for myself with this mod, I wholeheartedly agree. All I did was simply generate a B 1.7.3 map and jesus the world generation is way more insane. It makes me almost want to just give up my current SSP 1.3 map and start brand new...
Never have I gotten overlapping biomes with spontaneous mountains, or floating islands, or huge cave ins of mountains that lead to the other end, and all of that crazy stuff.

I just hope we won't have to use mods for this type of map generation in the future...

Edit: However, I wish the old epic seeds I've been seeing around would work with ravines, strongholds, mineshafts, and all that new content as well. Is there a way to implement this? Would be perfect.

If it doesn't work with Forge, i've got my problem "solved" now, too :)
But I'm not going to be happy with this, I NEED MATMOS!!!

My problem is that the Mod just isn't loaded when I've started Minecraft. I've got the newest version of Forge and optifine installed, but I even get no "Matmos-loading-message" or things like that. I think, I've installed everything correctly, so the Problem has to be Modloader missing.

I hope, if Matmos really doesn't work with the Forge-Modloader yet, that it does later on, if it's possible.
I really, really hope so :D

I do too. I'd really want to switch from ModLoader to Forge.
There's still one slight problem though...
So I log into the game and everything seems to be working fine, but then I figure, "Damn, this weapon switching sound is wayyyy too loud and it scares the **** out of me everytime I scroll..."
So I hold f7 and proceed to drag that Weapon expansion sound down to 20%. It's perfect for a while, and then...
All of the sound, and I mean everything, disappears. I have to reopen Magic Launcher for sound to come back.

Hopefully this bug gets ironed out :) !

    Quote from Hurricaaane

I don't know how Forge works, but using the latest version of Forge-ModLoader (on Github) I confirmed it works. However, when I tested using the latest version of Forge I could find out (on Forge website), it did not work (my mods were totally undetected).

    Was it uhhh... Forge 4.0.0?

Cause that's what I was using.

posted a message on MAtmos - Environmental sound atmosphere simulator
I'm on a Mac, running 1.3.2 on MagicLauncher with only ModLoader with some mods and Optifine, I dragged the entire MAtmos to the ApplicationSupport/Minecraft folder, changed my minecraft.jar to .zip so I could open it, went ahead and dragged META-inf to the trash bin and erased it, and then changed my .zip back to .jar so I could, well, obviously, play Minecraft. I don't get a blackscreen, but my Minecraft gets stuck on the MOJANG screen, and then shortly crashes afterwards.
My Modloader is updated as of Risugami's thread (1.3.2).
I turned off Optifine on MagicLauncher in an attempt to see if that was causing MAtmos' problem, but it still wasn't the case.
I can't seem to find the problem... Help would be appreciated as I would really love to have more sounds on Minecraft!
    Thanks :]

Edit: Nevermind, I got it to work! Turns out I was using Forge and for some reason it doesn't work with Forge...? Switched to ModLoader and it now works.

I'm slightly curious why it doesn't work with forge though?

    Quote from Planetguy

Magic Launcher will say that Optifine is incompatible with Forge, because generally mods that overwrite the same vanilla classes break each other, but Optifine actually includes the parts of Forge it overwrites.

Thank you kind sir. Now everything works for me!
