I don't see why he would need to spend more than £1k

    Because I want to. Period.

What is the best place to buy the parts for the loop?

    Nevermind.

he should really go with eLoops or Multiframes.

    What are they?

If he wants to really spend $8500

Lol, I said that my budget is $8500, not that I want to spent all of it. The price just has to range between $10 and $8500, but does not necessarily have to be the most expensive thing you can possibly build with the money. If it just costs me 2 or 3k, I'm perfectly fine with that.

Could you give me an example build, Xiae, please? And what parts would I need exactly to make a custom loop?

I think I'll go with John's build then. Does the case come with all the fans that can be fitted into it? Could the "ridiculous thermal output" at some point become an issue?

Also, could I get a recommendation of a good monitor for it please?

This is a silly excuse. I see it a lot. "I need a really good PC because I do programming".

    No. You don't.

I program for a living. As I write this I have a database connection open, skype, outlook, 5 instances of visual studio, 2 instances of netbeans, PowerGREP, and a VM Running 5 different systems for testing (which I should probably shut down...). The entire system works perfectly fine. I also use 3DS Max and Photoshop for my own purposes. (My previous machine was fine for the video editing I Did, the main downside was all the software available for video editing is about as usable as a pile of garbage and we still haven't even approached the usability of the Amiga Video Toaster.

Does having a good system benefit my productivity? Yes. It is more productive now than on my older machine. However, this machine cost $2600 total and I think that was going complete overkill. I cannot even imagine what I would even replace to spend $8500.

Spending $8500 on a new PC is like paying 600 dollars for a drinking glass. It doesn't matter what kind of wine you want to drink, you don't need a 600 dollar glass to do it.

Nah, it is more of "I want a totally overpowered computer because I can afford it". However, if according to you even a $2600 PC is totally overkill I might just stay with a slightly lower budget. Just so I can understand it, what would be roughly the difference performancewise with the machine John suggested, the one Akame suggested, and the one you did (and can you post your specs please)? And why Windows 7, John?

I can increase my budget to 10k, but I'd prefer not to.

I'll make a computer with watercooling then, although I have never done one before, so I would need some help with what to buy to make it.

XSPC and EK are probably the two best places to find stuff. Aquacool also makes decent products.

For fans you're looking at Noiseblocker Multiframes and eLoops mostly.

All this is rather expensive and it's not surprising if it runs you around $1500.

    Would it be worth it?

This is, of course, ignoring the myriad of expensive possibilities in custom built water cooling.

I could install a custom water cooling system, if I get to find out where I can buy the parts to make it. I'd love to actually.

If you spend $8,500, you're doing it WRONG.

Professional machines cost ~2k. And I doubt you need anywhere near that much power for Minecraft. Really, $700-800 is all you need.

I want it for programming and video editing. Minecraft performance is just the main focus when choosing parts.

I was going to build a new computer within the next couple of weeks, and I was wondering if I could get some advice on what to get.

    Budget: ∼ $8500.

    Usage: primarily playing Minecraft.
Also, other gaming, video editing and mainly programming, which I am currently learning.

Overclocking: maybe. I don't know how to do it though.

Peripherals: I need a mouse, keyboard, headphones, speakers, and two monitors.

edit: Also, it might have a watercooling system.

    Thanks for the help!
